    This series is well timed Joe as I am currently digging back through my own classical cd collection in the kitchen every evening. Been enjoying some Ravel, Sibelius and Bartok. Looking forward to seeing what you got.

    Great first instalment Joe with some wonderful names and historic recordings. I would like to check out the Segovia Bach violin transcriptions. The photo of Chopin on that Cortot CD was taken very near the end of his life. It’s a picture I know extremely well, as I grew up learning classical piano, and my dad had the photo in a frame hung above our piano, so Fred was always glaring down at me during my practice sessions. We also had a bust of Chopin on our hall telephone table, and several framed Chopin manuscripts on the wall. I spent a couple of years buried deep in learning the A flat and D flat waltzes when I was 14-15. His music is deep in the blood. Looking forward to the next instalment!

      James Griffiths First, thanks for checking out the series. I was going back and forth as to whether to embark on it or not since I have quite a few, but I'm glad I've started on what will be a long journey. Hope The Professor will come along for the duration of the voyage, especially since it turns out that not only do you you appreciate great, music but since you studied the classics. Would love to hear/see you tickle the ivories one day. Sounds like your Dad was a lover of fine music as well. Always enjoy your videos and look forward to them. See you around - Joe.

    What a breath of fresh air! Thanks for doing this series. I'm a new sub and I'm enjoying the channel so far! Hard to find many who are discussing their classical collections.

    Hi again Joe. I just subbed to you from my other ‘ Beatle James’ channel....wasn’t sure if you were aware I had that second channel or not. Just out of interest, what are the perks and the advantages you’ve read about regarding hitting 1000 subs? Cheers, James

    • @joehermanartist
      @joehermanartist  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Beatle James First, thanks for the extra sub, you have helped me reach 400! I haven't reached my goal of 1000 yet, but am on my way. When I do I am going to make a superfantabulous video!
      Regarding the perks you get, I am glad you asked that question. It used to be that anyone who wanted to could participate in YT's Partner Program. Now they announces that, after Feb. 20th, only channels with a minimum of 1000 subs can participate which I think is really dumb.
      The other thing is that some extras like End Screens (where you can direct people to other of your videos or links) will not be available anymore. Those things are good tools.
      Oh, I just realized that it's you James! I did not know you had another channel. Will definitely check it out!

    Zigeunerweisen, Op. 20 is a piece of music not a composer!
