Tears of JOY and Pride!! How AWESOME. This is OUR All American Marching Band. Some traditions have changed and some remain...always AMAZING...always my dream come true. Thank you God, for the years You gave me to contribute.
Spent a year playing in this band before I left for the Greek section. Looking back, both were wonderful experiences, I am grateful I got to march in front of that huge drum, even though I was slightly terrified I'd get run over by it going down a hill. Now I have great memories of marching with the band, although doing so in Indiana weather often made it a challenge for certain. It was always either sweltering hot or freezing cold in those uniforms.
I feel exactly 40 years back in my life. In 1980/1981, I spent a year at Purdue as a student and Teaching Assistant in the German Department. I never missed a single Purdue game during that time. I was very impressed with the performances of the Marching Band, the Cheerleaders, and of course the Football Team. What a joy to now be able to see this excellent video that brings all the emotions back up.
I knew nothing about Purdue....this was awesome! what great kids! GREAT fight song...flawless half-time....CONGRATS!!! from a Texas Longhorn that gave you Fred Akers and Drew Brees...
only BIG Ten school w/no music majors/program, but biggest (and best) in BIG Ten and first for so many things college bands do everywhere now (including first to break ranks and formation on field - the Block P)
What a great night for the Boilers. Sucks that Ross Ade was half scarlet (minus the student section) but pretty sweet all those Nuts were sent home with a big L.
Truly wasn't half scarlet. Red must pop out more, but not 1/2 fans by far. O$U always travels well, especially when close. Student section a small shell of what it used to be in now smaller Ross-Ade, but enthusiastic. Purdue has actually had O$U's number on many recent visits to Ross-Ade. Great night for Boilers (and rest of BIG rooting for them too)
@@mic1240 Don't I know it. Since 2000, the teams with the most victories over Ohio State are: Iowa 2, Illinois 2, Michigan 3, Michigan State 3, Wisconsin 4, and finally Penn State and Purdue with 5. Ohio State's dominance over Michigan gets the headlines, but really they've just dominated the league. That needs to change this season.
Keystone State Since 2000 (past 19 seasons) Purdue has beaten O$U 5 of last 8 times when playing at Ross-Ade Stadium. Not shabby considering includes some very lean years of Purdue football (along with good ones w/Brees and Orton at QB).
@@mic1240 looked it up purdues drum is 7' 8 inches 45 inches wide. and big mo is 9 ft tall 54 inches wide and Big Mo is 900 lbs and purdues drum is 550 ish lbs. Big Bertha at Texas is 8 ft high but only 44 inches wide. Big Mo is the biggest college bass drum
They definitely chose the right game to record for Purdue, what a day
Its the fact that they won to Ohio State
Brings back a lot of memories from the early 80s. Ironically, I attended this game. It was one of the best sports experiences of my life.

It's my absolute dream to go here and be in this band.
Played in this band for one year and it was just as exciting as it looks!
Love this school love the band the best. Daughter played mello in the Drew Brees years. Got to see him live!
That wind! Golden silks alumni here and I can feel the terror in my bones.
Thankfully the wind died down by halftime!

I love the drag show after the plumes are collected. Ru Paul would be very proud.
This was one of the best nights to be a boilermaker
Is it me or does the Purdues band and UTs band similar
Way to go B Maker's!
Great video!
I've watched this video several times. I just realized. that wind storm was actually a portal to another dimension where we kick Ohio State's butt.

Como se llama el batutero mayor?
Why only 1 drum major?
heyyyyy
Hi
Many a push-up was to be had that night...
Big Mo from Mizzou is bigger than their small Drum
Maybe taller, not bigger. BIG TEN bands > SEC.
@@mic1240 no its bigger 100%
