I am late to the party but I just wanted to thank you for providing challenging and GORGEOUS jewlery tutorials! You are very good at guiding us through designs I would have never thought I would be able to create! Your tips are so helpful (I now use my drill for coiling and twisting wire effortlessly and am.a champ at prong setting. Thank you do much for the challenge and virtual handholding. I have learned more from you than anyone. I'm a huge fan of Karisma and Talisman tutorials too,but you have so much more content and never talk down to us!! Thank you than uou🎉🎉🎉
I, myself, have been listening for 8 years. Love, Love Audible! Coincidentally, been talking with my sister ( newly retired RN) to start a trial. Will give her your info. Enjoy you lovely video’s/jewelry😁!!
Wow, you are amazingly talented! Not only are you an amazing artist, but you’re also very good at teaching. It was crisp, clear, and the perfect tempo. Thank you!
I have a number of faceted gems and have not found a good tutorial to set them. This way of making the prongs and basket makes so much sense! Thank you for the tutorial! You have such a calming voice with clear instruction.
Absolute beginner here, just tried this with a 9mm faceted stone and was successful! Nowhere near your experienced craftsmanship but it's a perfect start. Thank you so so much for the easy to follow tutorial; I've never done this before, it was so straightforward to follow along with you.
I just stumbled across your channel yesterday & I've watched about 10 videos already! I never thought I'd be able to make pronged settings without getting into more intense metal work, so these settings are really exciting for me. I have a bunch of stones that I've been collecting for years, and I'm going to start playing with them ASAP!
Again I must say your jewelry is incredible. I started with wire wrapping and love it but like you I found I enjoy designing patterned metal through engraving and etching. I learned to make prong rings much differently but love how you did this. I’ve attempted making prong cabochon rings using the method I learned and while I’ve been on on a break seeing this video inspired me to try again .. I know we have the same pliers so I’m measuring that way! If you do have a tutorial with measurements please let me know and I will purchase. Thank you for sharing your amazing work ..
New subscriber/ amazing art! I’ve done prong rings but nothing like this ..the techniques remind me of live knots as well.. How do you measure your prong length or do you have a tutorial? Thanks 😊
Round wire could definitely be used to make the prongs/basket! It would add additional challenge to making the ring’s band though since round wire does not sit quite as still/parallel as square without a lot more attention. It can definitely be done though!
I love your style! Do you buy your silver from Rio Grande? I’ve only worked in copper, but my niece would like a silver ring… I’ll give it a try with your great tutorial!
This is a beautiful ring! I want to do this to a rose quartz stone that popped out of one of my rings. This would be perfect for it! Though, would this work for a round stone?
This is a beautiful setting! I have been looking for a way to set a stone without soldering. The stone I have is a 10mm blue topaz and I was wondering if this 4 prong style would be secure enough? It would be horrible if I made this bezel and it’s not strong enough to hold it. What do you think I should do?
I love your work, but can you let us know how wide your pliers are? It looked like mine were even wider than yours, I used them to measure my prongs, but ended up with prongs so short I had to toss the whole project.
How do you calculate the length of the individual prongs and the distances between the prongs? These lengths must be different depending on the size of the stone?
Have you ever checked out piers Anthony's incarnations of immortality series? It's a little campy but I like it that way it makes a science and magic and it each book has a different incarnation in other words on a pale horse is about death you have fate you have time war mother Earth and then the last two are evil and good He's also got a serious called xanth but I haven't read too much of that one yet The incarnations of immortality are some of my favorite books they're good and easy to read and they have a lot of interesting ideas in them they're not what you expect
I'm trying so hard to make this ring but unfortunately all I have is stainless steel wire and it is so difficult to keep the wire together to make the ring shank and even the basket is moving on me any suggestions or should I just give up on the stainless steel wire
Stainless steel isn’t particularly easy to work with, definitely significantly more difficult than the sterling silver I use! I would try out copper or maybe even a craft wire other than the stainless. I’m sure something could be done with the stainless, but it would definitely be a challenge

Beautiful ring! I wish I would have started wire wrapping earlier in life to be able to achieve your skill level.
Beautiful work. Greetings from Florida 🌺

thank youuuuu for sharing ❤
I know it has nothing to do with the making of jewelry but maybe one day you might explain the tattoos on your fingers (just curious) 😊
💜💜💜 As always!
Thanks!
Thank you!!
New subscriber/ amazing art! I’ve done prong rings but nothing like this ..the techniques remind me of live knots as well.. How do you measure your prong length or do you have a tutorial? Thanks 😊
Nice work, helpful and easy to follow. I've considered trying more prong settings, do you think round wire would work for the prong/basket?
Round wire could definitely be used to make the prongs/basket! It would add additional challenge to making the ring’s band though since round wire does not sit quite as still/parallel as square without a lot more attention. It can definitely be done though!
@@RaftarkJewelry right on, thanks

This is a beautiful ring! I want to do this to a rose quartz stone that popped out of one of my rings. This would be perfect for it! Though, would this work for a round stone?
I can’t see why not! Give it a go and let me know how it turns out!

It would be horrible if I made this bezel and it’s not strong enough to hold it. What do you think I should do?
It's secure enough, I've made two rings with 10mm stone in this style. Just adjust the length of the prongs etc.
I love your work, but can you let us know how wide your pliers are? It looked like mine were even wider than yours, I used them to measure my prongs, but ended up with prongs so short I had to toss the whole project.
?? Can the silver be hardened once it is wrapped? Random curious thought...
How do you calculate the length of the individual prongs and the distances between the prongs? These lengths must be different depending on the size of the stone?
Why when i try sliding them together to make basket it wont get as tight as yours?

The wire has a lot of bounce spring back
