    Grew up with the Christian teaching that says "if someone hits you in one cheek, offer the other cheek too" and "Jesus already died for our sins so no one owes anyone an apology".
    Tolerating evil for a long time (turn the other cheek and forgive over and over) instead of putting a stop to evil, allowed evil to flourish and ruined the family. Dad actually said before that he doesn't understand why his family is so broken, bcoz the whole family haven't been speaking for years, eventhough we've been living by the Christian teaching (which broke up the family a long time ago).
    The only way the family will ever reconcile, is if they follow the Islam teaching (that came to correct Jesus's teaching that got twisted by the Church) - enjoin right, forbid wrong.

    Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakhatu. I will be teaching my children how to do Istikhara. This is the best gift I can give them as a single parent. I do Istikhara for almost everything. Alhamdulilah.

      Dear sister I know you mean well but Istikhara should only be done if and when there is no other way to know right from wrong.

    My father used to severely beat my elder brother for not studying in a proper way. He used belts, rods, sticks and even bare hands. I remember him tying his feet with a rope threatening him that he'll tie the other end to the cieling fan and switch it on if he didn't study properly even once more! Obviously we siblings had young minds. We couldn't realize that the fan couldn't actually endure our weight and all this was illogical. But the expression of anger on my father's face, the way he tied the rope and the way he talked about it was so convincingly torturing. We actually believed that if the fan had turned on, we might die or atleast break our bones by being hit to the walls.
    Guys, stupid as it may sound, I still respect my father to this day. Not because I'm blackmailed by anybody, rather it's my own choice. May God be happy with me and my brother. We're grown men now, with some old emmotional scars. If you're going through such torture as Mufti Menk said, do report. But if it's already over, just gulp it in and let go.

      Billy Casper brother I was shocked to read your past. Shocked too that I was not the only one who experienced it too. Yes myself and my siblings have forgiven our father but the emotions scars Is too damaging for we get flashbacks and trigger moments that make us shiver with fright ! I wonder by us forgiving yet dealing with emotional scars, has Allah forgiven my father ? Don’t forget what our mothers had to to deal with being forced to watch her sons being treated worst than an animal ! And our mothers were suppose to stay quiet or else they will be beaten too ! Allah a’lam

    At the age of 12 I have tried to commit suicide twice and both of the times the reasons were my schools
    My mum blackmails me to this day about how she did this and that for me and the least I could do was get a A+
    The first time I tried to end it was when I was 10 I got 8.5 marks in a test making it A not an A+ like my mother wanted I did not want to come home from school Why? because I knew she would be sad because I knew she would beat me because I knew she would tell me how I am just like my father(he was WAY worse than my mom)
    The second time was when I simply could not understand a question and my mom Brought hell down to earth for me she would cry she tried to KILL herself in front of me because I got an A and not an A+
    Each time I reminded myself that suicide is is a sin
    I would say I have gotten better but I still cut myself and have resolved towards self-harm and my mother could care less as in her words "I don't care if you do that to yourself all I want is an A+"

    I asked my son to miss his Friday prayer so he could bring me back home and he refused he blatantly told me no. I was shocked when I die the mosque is still going to be standing in its place. I even asked him if I needed looking after if he would and his answer was I will try but my immediate family cones first that was another shock. I guess this is what Islam has taught him.

      @islamwayofallprophetspeace1547 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. Mother 3 times deserve more companionship. Then the father. Parents come first. But Allah comes first over humans. So he couldn't miss the Friday prayer. After Allah. Parents have the most authority. The Messenger of Allah Muhammad sallalahu alayhi wassalam is not here on this earth anymore. So the parents are the next in authority. But there's no obedience to the creation when it means disobedience to the Creator.

      @@islamwayofallprophetspeace1547 I guess even you won't look after your parents when they will need you, cause you are telling me that your religion comes first before humanity. Very good you have just explained to me what Islam is teaching people to neglect their parents and put Islam first

      @tahseensiddiqui8346 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@islamwayofallprophetspeace1547 sorry but I can never agree with you, that is your understanding don't make it as this is the perspective of Allah and his Messenger. I would suggest you read and ponder over Surah Ma'oon where Allah has stated in verse 4,5&6 -
      4.Woe to those worshipper.
      5. Who are unaware of (the spirit) of their prayer (i.e., they are only mindful of their rights of Allah but are heedless of the rights of fellow human beings)
      6. Who show off their worship (they only render a formal service to the Creator and are inconsiderate to the oppressed humanity).
      Friday prayer is wajib but duty towards your parents is Fardh.
      Service towards parents will always comes first. Their are ample of examples for us only if we are thoughtful.

    • @عبدالوصي
      @عبدالوصي 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well bringing back home can wait half an hour or so until friday prayer finishes, it's not life threatening I presume.
      Respecting and obedience are separate entities. Maybe the way he said was rude but equally one can wait for his compulsory prayer to finish.
      You have demarcated humanity and religion as if they are mutually exclusive. What is more clear to me that you are implying my needs come first before your religion (Gods command), am I correct?
      Note if it is optional prayer then he should leave that to tend to you only if it is not compulsory prayer as in Friday.

      @@chilli1385 no, it's an obligation to financially and emotionally care for your parents like they did to you when you were younger, that is actually an order from god and the proohet, the only time it's allowed to disobey any of ur parents if they're being unfair and using the " I birthed you" card and ordering them to do something against God's orders, like lying, stealing, cheating etc

      May Allah forgive us all. Some suffer in their homes in silence due to parental abuse and unfortunately might even leave the deen due to hating it since that is what narcisisstic family members usr to justify ill treatment.
