    I have to say that, as an Orthodox choir director, this is a most stunning recording of this hymn by such a young set of voices, and a spot on interpretation by the director. I look forward to hearing more from you.

    Lovely recording, the bass "melds" with the rest of the ensemble in a gorgeous way. Less "up front" than other recordings I've heard, and in a good way. Can we expect more videos of this ensemble?

    This is beautiful, technically perfect and captures the essence of orthodox choral music. It is an absolute pleasure to listen to. The performance however lacks the depth and texture of a top notch Russian choir, adding another basso would help.

    I'd very much like to hear the oktavists singing the low notes without the harmonics, just the pure sine-like notes. I think it's a different voice than the chest voice.

      someone doesn't understand the importance of feedback

    • @HungryMusicologist
      @HungryMusicologist 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@theghandem2027 But is the "feedback" rooted in the quality of the music or just the superficial observation that the singer is young? I'm really not missing any additional power from him. He blends beautifully with the rest of the choir and grounds the harmony which is what matters. Some of these octobasses with a lot of "power" stick out like a sore thumb and that ruins the effect in my humble opinion.

    • @Feezwa

      Hey ! Come on , cheer up !
      I'm singing in a choir too ! Since I was 16 ! I am 23 now !
      Just keep doing it ! The only voice that gets better with age is the bass voice ! Until one point, of course ! And you should've known that the full maturity of a voice is reached at the age of 30 ! Because after the teenage process ends, the actual work on voice starts, since there are no more fundamental hormonal changes in the body.
      The lowest I could get (keep in mind I will use Do, Re, Mi, Fa etc. notation) is the low note Mi in second oktave, below the portative in Fa key. I can reach the low Fa with enough power in voice, but Mi with less power. And Sol with fully potential in voice.

    • @ModernBard
      @ModernBard 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have sigthly the same range (and i use Do, Re, Mi... notation too) But with my timbre i think i'm more a very very high baritone , i sing Eb2 to D4 (Mib1-Re3 in french notation)

    • @dennisrice8046
      @dennisrice8046 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Modern Bard, I am a professional classical singer (current age 79). Yes, your voice will grow as you get older, give it time. You will probably add another low note or two yet. And let the size of the voice come naturally, don't push it to do so.

      if your really interested in singing lower try learning subharmonics. similar to fry but better. im actually wondering if this guy is using this technique. probably not. but it sounds about the same.

    Денис (это по-русски),очень хорошо поёте...действительно за душу "берёт".....слишком много дыханий (пауз)....это произведение - молитва!... (
    ).. как пример,послушайте th-cam.com/video/8idxhyqifao/w-d-xo.html (timer 30:00)... желаю всего самого наилучшего в Ваших трудах!

    • @irina1760
      @irina1760 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Дыхания (пауз) ровно столько, сколько их написал композитор - Пётр Чесноков.
      В первую очередь, это музыкальное произведение и дирижёр, уважая автора, не имеет право добавить или отменить, написанное композитором.
      В Вашем примере по ссылке, просто хоровое пение без сокровенности Духа и раскаяния Души.
      Простите.
      Но и там есть дыхание и паузы в конце фраз - по классическим законам
      хорового пения.
      Желаю Вам всего наилучшего!!!!
