When the Hispanic guy got zapped, I felt that. He died for the kid. He didn’t deserve that, he couldn’t understand what everyone was saying and didn’t know what to do
Neither the girl man
The Hispanic guy lost the only person who would translate for him the previous round. I think he knew his time was coming and the translator did whisper something into his ear before she got zapped.
I think she told him that sides were being formed and the little girl and pregnant lady would constantly be at risk and others have already agreed the Hispanic guy should go because he can't contribute to the conversation.
@@FuDDEX420 yea that’s just sad man😔
@@alessia-adams
Right. I honestly think the cards were against him.
#1 he is the only one to show proof/documentation/pictures of his kids.
#2 most of them seem to be from the Cali/Ari area (according to the movie script). I think there was more than 1 person who could translate but decided not to because it could be considered as "wasting time".
No doubt that he stepped off to protect the little girl was a selfless act.
The "glasses man" was the biggest piece of trash, with a few others.
I honestly think that once the translator got zapped, he knew his time was short/coming.
What makes his death/sacrifice "sad" was that going forward people claimed "I have a kid" but the Hispanic guy was the only one who carried pictures.
Sorry about the long rant. I do agree with you that his death was sad/selfless. I like to believe the translator lady gave him more time than what others would have.
On a side note... Who was your favorite person if you were cheering for someone?
@@alessia-adams
I feel ya.
The dude who did survive at the end was the one who put that guy who voted for the pregnant girl on the block.
They all agreed to "vote for the person next to you".
But the one guy and pregnant lady tied and the dude who survived at the end helped saved the pregnant lady, (at the time).
When I first watched the movie I really hoped he would have stepped off in the end.
I was cheering for the little girl, the pregnant lady, and the dude (who ultimately survived) along with the guy who never spoke.

I honestly think the pregnant woman should’ve won. Out of everyone in that room, the only one to leave without severe PTSD would’ve been the baby.
…however, would the room have made her choose between her and her child?
Most likely yeah. Even if she and the baby were the only survivors she would still have to vote. Even if she wouldn't want to kill her unborn child she would might vote cause of the fact that if she dies the baby will die with her also.
@@The_One-And_Only_Weirdo interestingly, there are pregnant women walking around at the end. So does that ending imply that all the pregnant women that survived had to choose between themselves and their baby? Also does it mean there's just a bunch of premature babies laying around everywhere because the mother's that chose to save their babies didn't know they would just be teleported back to earth?
I like how it all ends up coming down to your personal morals, who's life is worth more, who deserves to die. Its an interesting movie concept
Wow imagine if the pregnant woman was left, when she would have to choose weather her or her baby dies
Good point but an easy choice, seeing as how a dead mother equals a dead baby every time.
Maybe the force of the shock in her belly could kill her too, in this case she's doomed
No they're in the same circle. The reason he had to kill the baby was because her body fell onto another circle and the device detected a heartbeat.
@@profoundending1390 that makes sense tbh, still strange that the baby survived the first zap.
@@derhustensaft4783 Exactly
This is actually one of the most fascinating scenarios in movie history. It's supposed to make us question what traits and faults we value or deride the most. Do we save someone who's wealthy and employs a lot of people? Do we save a veteran that's served his or her country? Do we spare a paramedic that saves lives? Everyone of us has an answer and those could change at any point between now and the next century. It's simple, but brilliant
keep dreaming
In college the psych dept did a study on this very thing. We volunteers (students) were paid in free food (pizza) and $5/hr to do initial intake questionaires (completely anonymously to ensure honesty) about any racism bigotry preconceived notion stereotypes etc as well as our statistical information like our age race sexual orientation social financial status etc. surveys and survival games like this.
Since they couldn't replicate the dying they altered the selfish survival trade to greed and stated that the last person remaining in the game would receive a bonus prize of $1,000 , the 2 making it to the 2nd to last round would each get $500 and the 3 players that made it to the 3rd to last round would get each $100 bonuses. That's a lot of money for college students so all of us were honestly and truly trying our best to "kill" the other people and "survive" to the last round and win that large cash prize.
All I will say is oh my God did it bring out the ugliness in people.
And just like in this movie people tried formatting temporary alliances they would use being Muslim against a person if they wore the burqa (head covering), thank goodness nobody could use racial slurs during the "exercise". In the instructions we were told We would be expelled from the game if we said any words that were profane (no cursing) or use derogatory racial slurs. I guess the proctors didn't want real physical fights breaking out!
Still you should have seen how conniving and duplicious some people were.
Agree, amazing idea but horribly executed. The movie was godawful.
@@toomessy If you don't mind explaining, what made you think it was bad?
I’m a bit disappointed they didn’t end it with the kid or baby surviving. I suppose out of that many people there would be at least one person who would save themselves over the kid. But I still feel 99% of humanity would never kill the child.
Actually glad the movie didn’t end with the typical ending. The guy surviving after looking out for himself is actually interesting
It showed that not everyone is as selfish as he was.
Should of continued with another game with survivors from the previous one, continuing until earth population reaches 1
The lady who stepped off because her son died made me cry.
I mean. If the pregnant woman is dead but the baby is still “alive”, what would choosing the baby to live actually do? Resurrect the mother too? Or would the fetus just plop onto concrete as the winner and then die quickly after?
That’s actually a good question
Or if the pregnant woman was the last to go, would she face off against her baby, because here baby definitely counted as 1 person, and only 1 person can survive.
Also if the mother was chosen to survive then wouldn’t she have to kill her own baby? Really interests me…

I like to think that the aliens never actually got anyone killed, and just faked everyone’s deaths and returned them to earth upon being dragged out, the illusion of them dying was just for the aliens to get them to act in a realistic way to test their morality, this is kinda hinted at the end, where the aliens kinda guilt trip Eric, the one who “survived” by returning him on earth right by the types of people he selfishly got killed for his own survival.
I don't think so tho becuase Eric wakes up with woman and children most likely the survivors from the other circles, so presumably the winners are the only people alive
@@mythicalashley9542 it's possible the aliens just moved the others somewhere else so the winners would believe they died and see how it affected them afterwards, kaybe even see how the winners would interact amongst themselves, again if the aliens just wanted to see what humans were like and what they valued they really wouldn't have a reason to actually directly harm them

What the ending strongly indicates is that for the aliens' new regime, they attacked the human population by having them reduce each other first. If 20 people enter a game and only one leaves, then this new society cannot rise against the aliens, because they can hardly trust each other. Every one of them a winner of the game. Perhaps the aliens will also pretend their dictatorship is a benevolent one, but the first step was destabilizing the humans and weakening their ability to trust one another.
I mean the aliens could just zap one more person on every ship.
But of course in the real world scenario, I think everyone would panic and will shove one another outside the circle.
Everyone will die.

Bc maybe, jus maybe he was a better person? I mean he didn't show that while in the circle but maybe he was outside. My father, however, wanted him dead on the spot lol
Yeah I'm just thinking the only response that would get him voted off sooner would be politician. Maybe lawyer. Still banker would be gone so fast especially when he had the gall to say he was a contributing member of society.
The one thing I don’t get about him is that he is old and at the beginning they claim that they were going to kill everyone who is old but they didn’t kill him
@@dstreetz91 except maybe human rights lawyers?
@@destroyerofworlds4663 you can't be a better person if you're a banker
The depressed teen who just wanted to die… my heart hurts
Maybe the most realistic part of this
As soon as I'm out of Facebook jail I'm spreading the word about your channel.💯❤️
I find it funny that after half are zapped, they're still debating who should be next. Like at what point you just going to realize it doesn't matter
I feel like this is literally a metaphor for how society functions.
And humanity as a whole
Indeed
"literally a metaphor" is a really silly thing to say just fyi ;-)
We live in a society
Tbh whether man, dog, lion or any animal I feel like pregnant females and children are valued in any society
Stepping out was the quickest way out of there. In that place I would be like: *Screw this all. I am stepping out and getting outta here.*
Yup and I don't want to be ruled by psychopathic aliens.
Yeah at that point I would just try to make peace with God for the last time and hope for the best 🤷🏾♀️
I would see how long I'd go until someone decides that I should die.
Yeah when there is a pregnant lady and a kid there is no way I'm going to win
@@Mr.Bendoverr even if there wasn’t a pregnant lady and child they’d most likely let the youngest of them all win
Watched this movie countless times and never noticed the circle on her hand
YOOOO! Black tee shirt guy is unit😂👌
I love the glasses guy's logic. Question people's contribution to society, all the while being abducted in a space vessel by unknown species.
My man's, that world ain't yours anymore. 😂
I have a feeling this entire exercise is the aliens figuring out how easy it would be to conquer the planet and what measures to use.
@@Shiirow maybe they trie to do some experiments to represent themselves, like doing this on your own will be wrong but on this primitives is a o k
Kinda interesting how he’s a… banker? He actually thinks he’s doing a lot for society? Sorry but, he wasn’t contributing any more than anyone else in the room

@@BULD0SIS Huh?
the game focusing on the circles, hence the title, pregnant women equal to 1 person due to being on one circle together. when the mother fell, the baby heartbeat was picked up by the circle and therefore became another person, so all those pregnant women at the end, still had their babies because they were on one circle so don't have to vote for their baby.

Hi
How are you doing
Oh I'm so glad someone other than me has watched this!
This is my all time favorite movie I watched it before and it’s good
This would be such a great show for an ethics class
Not really. To be honest I learned nothing from this.
@@gummy5862 I can see it being inciteful in a small sense. It's partly asking who do you blame for wrongdoing? I say f**k the aliens. They're the only ones at fault, the survivor did nothing wrong, and the 5th to last carries that energy. I wouldn't say you can find yourself or your morals here. At best it tells you whether or not you'd die...In a death game made by aliens lol. However, there are some questions raised indirectly. Most important to me was how I respond to aggressive people vs. passive people. Would Red-tie man, an antagonistic(ish) force really outlive some of the quieter characters for example?
@@wolfgod6443 Idk the game from the start wasn’t really fair because like 5 or so people died before they even figured out how the game worked? How is that productive in figuring out human ethics?
@@gummy5862 It's not, you're right lol. But you can get something out of it still. For me, I think an ethical hurdle is blaming the aliens for the situation rather than anyone in the room. The man who lived didn't kill anyone, the aliens did. I mean the man is guilty of being an asshole and you shouldn't trust him, but he made a reasonable decision given extraneous circumstances. Given the ending, I feel like the director wasn't thinking the aliens were at fault, but that's his problem. So call this thinking outside the box, I dunno.
@@wolfgod6443 Yea I agree the aliens were at fault too. You can’t put people in a Hunger Games type of scenario and then get mad at people for killing each other. It’s not really exactly clear what the message of the movie was either (assuming there was supposed to be one). Are they promoting the idea of killing yourself in order to save children and pregnant women?
Plot twist : They didn't die. They just being transported into another planets.
*planet
*they're
KK. But, the planets is right tho'. I never said it just one planet.
@@wanderingghost7324 then you could've rephrase it to "Transported to other planets"

Now humanity can continue with that man
That isnt selfish anyone would want to live
@@alexshiels8708
I'd argue that the will to survive is selfish by nature in the first place though. With that being said; I don't think what he did was wrong in any way, tbh.
@@VAVORiAL I agree. Like it is easy to say that you would sacrifise yourself. And some ppl that say that Maybe would. But when a 11-13 year old says they would I am 90% sure they wouldn’t
He did a correct decision cos now he can impregnate all these women and repopulate the earth
i love how he just calls the cancer survivor
“c a n c e r lady”
The beard guy actually referred to her as "Cancer lady" in the movie lmao
It's a thing that everyone in the circle knows about her and since they don't use names that's the best way you can call her
All human lives are equal in value, so the only right thing to do to decide is by chance.
The counting man terrified me, something about him knowing when time will be up after the noises sends a chill down my spine
When you realize the baby in the womb counts as a separate entity ,meaning the pregnant women have to decide between them and their babies if they make it to the end
ngl if the pregnant woman dies I think her baby would die before the aliens could do anything (if they even would) and I don’t think someone could survived being zapped in the stomach like that
@@pilaws but the final vote in the movie is the protagonist voting on himself vs the baby
holy fuck that's true, the only good ending was the girl surviving lmao
@@miltoska9708 yeah but it was only a minute after the mother died. And you can’t save like 6 months old fetus anyway

God bless the Hispanic man he sacrifice his life for the kid
And god bless the blk people who had zero chance of survival because of racism. Not being funny but the movie was about social experiments so we knew that would be touched on. Ive seen the actual movie twice (it honestly wasnt good lol) and thats 1000% the reason why they killed him (them), as in they actually said it "the black guy, vote the black guy!"
@@enricorodrigues-castragran7810
1. It's a movie
2. There first person to die was white. This has nothing to do with racism, if anything, realisticly the last one to survive would be the black person since no one wants to look like a racist/victim status.
@@enricorodrigues-castragran7810 they probably said vote the black guy as that is his most noticeable feature compared to others.
@@PauI123 Literally no one cares so much about not being labeled "racist" in a fucking life or death situation to purposely not vote out black people over themselves or others. Stop unironically trying to victimize yourself.
@@vallano8970 yeah, we're more biased towards people who are like us. a circle with mostly black would probably sprout a black winner. at some point, they'd vote off the arab or the asian dude.
