I used a tamiya lacquer metallic black for panels on my first one. I donated it to a children's hospital here and I'm building another for myself soon. Need to name a pale yellow green, Covid Mucous yellow. Great Marauder of Prey..

Interesting observations about this ship's silhouette-- as a design harkening to yesteryear... "history doesn't repeat itself, but rather, it rhymes... !" Just to help your feelings with weathering an "Imperial" ship. It has never been Imperial. It was a Republic ship that had been used by Clone Force 99 "Bad Batch" in the Clone Wars. The era of the show is immediately after Order 66, and they're on the run from the Empire as their mutated clone nature made them not obey Order 66. Basically the chips in their heads didn't work like the rest of the clones. It's too bad they didn't include the Padme pinup art that was on the ship when it was first seen in the Clone Wars. Just do a search for "bad batch padme pinup". They removed that as she wasn't in the season much and Dave didn't want that to be her main representation for the season.
I noticed this when Round 2 did their monthly announcement video, on the side of the box it says DIPLAY OPTIONS. Guess they should fire the proofreader.
Do you ever use reflective paint behind a 'light' that you don't actually install a light in? I wonder if it would catch the room light at the right angles and make it LOOK like ti was lit from within.
Awesome build. Did you ever create the special masks? i.e. the half imperial cog or the bad batch symbol? Would sure like to specialize one for a friend. Thank you.
Lou, where are you getting your lights these days? Looking to start a Star Trek 1:1000 USS Xerxes - Saladin-class Mk VIII destroyer kit bash and need some lights or kit.
Yet another kit I didn't know that I needed for my collection, even at 1/144 it's a large ship if put next to the falcon it'll look out of scale 🤭 , when I can get two i might have to paint one to match the bird of prey for giggles
Question: how do u power 5 LEDS using one 9 volt battery when the fwd voltage is typically more than 9 volts? R (2.1v x 3) + Bl 3.4 = 9.7v? Note: I am lightly sanding my 3 or 5 mm LEDs to create varying levels of diffusion.

i tried, but it kept moving around when i put the bottom part on. the diffusing plastic i could nail down better

The LEDs I get are all pre-resisted for 9 to 12 v. I wire them parallel.
Where do you get those yellows masking bits from?
