My dears,
Almost always, the title of a song comes to me as soon as I finish it. I reflect on my mood, the message the song conveys, and how listeners might interpret it. However, this time was different. The name "Lingua Franca" came to me suddenly, even before I started composing the track. It's one of the few times when the title preceded the song.
For those unfamiliar, Lingua Franca means a universal language, a way for people of different nationalities or cultures to communicate and understand each other. To me, music is the ultimate universal language, transcending barriers and speaking to everyone. I think that music is the real Lingua Franca.
To enhance this sense of universality, I chose a well-known and frequently used chord progression, aiming to evoke a feeling of familiarity.

@arkydoodle5421 Hey, I indeed like history a lot, especially ancient and medieval era. History was my favorite subject in school, and I spent many hours reading history books. I also had a particular fondness for historical novels, with Alexandre Dumas being my favorite author during that time, known for his historically based works. This passion also extended to gaming, which remains one of my interests, even though I don't have much time for it now. I particularly enjoy games like Civilization and Age of Empires. Even today, I still find joy in reading or listening to history lessons 😊.
