    That was great. Really liked the breakdown of possible gas leak places and the idea that a control knob say on a cooker could be left on or to fault.

    Just came across your videos which are pretty good I worked as a labourer for ten years am 40 years old and thought It would be silly to enroll at college to learn something new I sat my level 2 plumbing then went on to my foundation gas I wish I had done it years ago, I’ve no long finished the college side was doing a placement but the company I was with stopped doing gas and moved on to wet rooms but I then couldn’t finish my hours for portfolio so because I missed the cut off date for portfolios to be handed in I’m having to enroll on the course again feel like a fool for having to do the course again but I keep saying to myself it will be worth it in the end thanks for the videos and hope you produce more in coming weeks and months 👍

      Hi Rossco, for some reason I thought I’d already replied to you but just noticed that I didn’t. Mate, keep at it. The gas qualification is like having a golden ticket..no one can do your job without it so I promise you it’s worth it. If there’s anything you’re struggling with let me know and I’ll sort out a video for you. Good luck!!

      @@passyourgas Hi, flue terminals and chimney terminals would a be a good shout. the books tell you whats acceptable and not acceptable, But theres hardly any pictures so you don't know what they look like ect, thanks again for the videos i like the way you talk slowly so you can soak the information in

      @@Ed-fp9rx I’ve been teaching it a long time and I’ve seen so many teachers rush through the stuff without explaining why things are like they are..but that’s what you’ll get asked on your assessment..thanks for your vote of confidence. I’ll do a terminal video in the next few days for you..

    thanks for the videos, I'm doing my portfolio atm these are brilliant. not sure you can do a vid on portfolios as they seem to vary from college to college but that would be great if you could do anything on it. thanks.

    • @passyourgas
      @passyourgas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Eazyrat, thanks or your kind words. There’s not a lot I can do about portfolios because, as you point out, they all have different forms and any video might be more confusing. However if there’s anything technical you need help with just let me know and I’ll happily create something for you.🙂

    If a 1mbar or 2mbar drop is found on old pipe work and old appliances, do you need to isolate the appliances to determine whether the leak is on the pipe work or on the appliances?

    • @passyourgas
      @passyourgas  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Vinni. Sorry it’s taken me so long to answer but I’ve been afk. As the video says, a 1 or 2 m bar drop is only a problem on a new or pipework only system. An old system would require at least a 4mbar drop. check everything is switched off first then all the nuts and joints then start to isolate appliances to trace the leak. I hope that helps.

      Hi Rossco, yep I’ll do an unsafe sits video. Sounds like you had a nightmare with the portfolio..it’s by far the most ball breaking part of the qualification. Are you doing C & G or ACS?

      What control valve are you asking about? Is it the Emergency Control Valve that sits just before the meter? If so, what would you like to know about it? Thanks.
