You actually make prepping feel sensible and enjoyable. Absolutely my favourite prepping channel.
Awesome! Thank you!
Mostly good advice - but - alcohol does NOT warm you up, it does the OPPOSITE!!!! VERY important to know this especially in survival situations 😵
At minute, definitely number 5 is extremely important, don’t lose your heads people, keep it together.
Thanks buddy
Absolutely!
I agree . Also the best part about number 1 is you get to load your pack the best way that works for you too and testing it all means you won't have to buy the equipment you don't need .
Agreed
Good video , good man , says it like it is , thankyou for keeping it real .
Awesome advice. Many thanks.
No worries!
“I sell gear not fear” absolutely correct you are a nice man Leigh. I would also say face your fears when they come your way, do not shy away. It’s surprising what we are all capable of and it’s never as bad as you think 😀
Well said!
Love the videos as usual 😀more videos please especially about winter prepping and winter survival😎😎
Thanks for watching
I agree. One of the first things I learned in my old job was that, when things go wrong, it rarely happens when the weather's nice!
#1 Dont do. Never give up your firearms.
If you are awake you know what is coming.
Excellent tips
👍
My list of "not to do" for prepping
Don't be addicted
Don't be so out of shape
Don't prep for just the end of the world, prep for things going on as nearly normal for years as well.
Don't neglect (don't neglect what? God, family, job, house, friends, health, routine maintenance, etc) The old story "for want of a nail"...
Don't stop learning
Just following these will put you ahead of 80% of modern population
Well said.
More like 99%
@@averyhorton3614 its the old 80% of statistics are made up on the spot, but yah, some people will not have clean clothes tomorrow morning to go to work. Some will piss away their lives with a bottle or a needle. Some people never learn a thing. I just figured four out of five.
THANK'S FOR SHARING👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
"I sell gear, not fear" that's a great line. Another good video. Ta.
Cracking video hoping to come see you at the shop n get some kit 👍👍👍
Wise words
Thanks for watching
Thats the way Leigh, great strap line "Gear not Fear" well said my friend.
Cheers Chris
100% spot on, brother. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!!
Thanks for the tips 💪🏻🏴🏴🏴
I totally agree with testing kit. it's better find out its not up to much before hand. Even things like a trangia alcohol burner, i was surprised how long stuff takes when using one of them to cook.
Also had to tweak weight etc for kids bugout bags.
Thanks ,we just need to learn how to balance the uptake of info. Sitting there with your mug in front of the fire is what many of us need right now with good friends and family.
Well said!
Useful, thank you.👍
Sane advice, thanks for sharing.
Great video, you clearly do what you do because you enjoy it. We'll all know when its gone truly wrong. I prefer information with humour, video's of you testing kit shows stuff that works, not using fear to sell......although a little bit of fear might get my good lady to give the big thumbs up for purchases
Damn my previous impulse buys
Good stuff. Love your uploads
Love your channel . Great advice . Stay safe
Thanks for watching 👊
Awesome 👍
Can't argue with your five points, one thing that does seem to get overlooked is a lot of us already have networks of people in our lives that we have already built trust with. They might not be card carrying preppers but they might have skills or 'stuff' themselves, they might not have 3 months of food etc but that's where you can step up. I've got mates who are very practical or younger and fitter than me who could be very handy to have around if things went Pete Tong. No point going into specific scenarios but I'd be happy to share my preps with good people I already know for mutual support. I dare say I'd be handy to others too, I guess it comes down to what you're prepping for, if its just shortages then you're as well keeping stum and looking after your own but if its civil unrest or the like then having good people around you could be more important.
Never a truer word spoken
I wish I had a prepper community
@@AlexanderTheFarmer Mate, I'm not talking about a community of self styled preppers, I'm talking about normal life. We all have people in our lives, it would be up to you if you wanted to encourage them to store more stuff for whatever scenario you foresee. The other option is to be there for whatever happens. 99% of the time it won't be running off to the hills, its going to be the boring stuff like helping a mate put up a shed or giving them some bottled water if the mains goes off.
Just because a group of people all 'identify' as preppers doesn't mean they'll all get on, I assume you get on with the people in your life you choose to hang around with, there's a lot to be said for that already built trust and comradeship. It might not be exciting but use what you already have in your life.
@@deeps2761 Thanks for the advice.
Nice one 👍
Thanks
Well said. Esp point 5. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for tuning in
Excellent advice nice one 👍
Thanks for watching
Great list and wise words 👍
Great video as all ways mate fitness is what I m working to getting back to fighting fit
👊💪
Spot on, only buy what you are going to use, also food wise, only buy what you will eat. Good points made. Fear is a good seller, unfortunately a lot make use of it.
Noticed the dig at a certain Canuck which I think is a little harsh. Sure, the guy is also a salesperson, but I doubt he's wrong about the forthcoming world war.
Anyway, you made some good points in the video. Health and fitness is the most important aspect of prepping, since without it all the other stuff won't matter a jot.
I couldn’t possibly comment on who you thought I was talking about, if it reminds you of someone then it’s hit a mark and they are probably guilty of it a little. Thanks for watching 👍
Such a diplomatic reply. Fair enough.@@TheBugOutShop
Great vid with good information, well said, keep them coming 😁
Thanks for watching
Lovely video, the total opposite of the fear-filled ones. A cozy fire, hot chocolate and some good down to earth advice.❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great vid
To be fair mate you talk about the most sense I've heard on any of the prep channels. And point 5 without doubt sage advice.
Thanks for watching 👍
Number 5 is spot on. 👍
"Fear sells." Yes, it does!
But promoting false safety hurts!
As with most things, it seems alot of stuff in the UK is done for an agenda. I also seems that the consequences of those agendas are starting to take root.
There is other ways to protect against those, but it seems silly to me to have home, car, life insurance etc, but not some backup to preserve life?
Yes I always see prepping as an insurance policy against the unexpected
Not going to get much from my house all of my hip preps or head between three of my bug out spots
Great video buddy , no5 point is spot on, I completely agree, 👍 to much click bait going on at the moment, as always see you on the next one ,
Thanks 👍
Great advice there. My advice - stay grey!
Great video mate agree with the top 5 should I have put the whole bottle in 😂😂 love the channel 👍
Thanks for watching
Agreed 💯
❤ still keeping on other brother with life😊
Love number 5 👍
Sound advice 🙏🏾
Yes I know one particular UK channel that used to be good and about skills etc. Now just fear mongering and full of racial predudice 😢
You probably know who I mean. 😩
I couldn’t possibly comment
😂 👍🏾
Had a dram of that cinnamon fire whiskey the other day and would recommend it for a hip flask as it certainly warms the cockles… also good with coffee
Careful drinking too much of that stuff Jim or you will do yourself another injury
No smoking and drinking at the same time 😂
Greetings
Cheers JT
Awesome as per. I agree there are some so called TH-cam preppers out there just pushing fear for £. You know who i mean 😁
Don't forget your spex !
I sell gear 😂
Not that type of gear!
😂
👀👍👍👍
4.08 is when the info starts. Previous 4 minutes just rambling.
Yes it’s true that’s the way i wanted to film this one. I make videos the way like and if people want to watch they will alternatively if they don’t like them there are millions of other videos to watch online. As I said at the start this was an informal campfire chat and not a 3 min run down. Thanks for watching 👍
@@TheBugOutShop appreciate the quick reply and yes it's your video...the title of the video said must nots for prepping and survival, be warned. It should have said campfire chat about what not to do instead of clickbaity fear spurting.
Cheers.
@@botulf4908 doesn’t quite have the same ring about it but a good idea for the next video. Cheers 👍
@@TheBugOutShop I look forward to it! Enjoy the rest of the weekend matey!
An extremely poignant video Leigh and you are correct in what you're saying. Fear porn/scaremongering is rife with some of the larger YT channels who are really only interested in finding content to put out purely to boost their own egos and to grow their channel, and we all know at least one person who falls into that category. Stay safe, stay sharp 👂🏻👀👂🏻and all the best to you and your family mate.
Thanks Paul for watching, all the best.
My subscription to your channel lasted 4 hours. Every video I've watched is precluded by several minutes of B-roll before any information is divulged. If I wanted to waste my life, I'd watch paint dry.
Thanks for stopping by
Don't get tipsy >??
Bug Out Shop, would you accept a suggestion for your channel? If you want to grow rather fast with a big audience, no one likes to be listening to extended music intros, sound effects and/or loud cinematic music. Your curtain intro music is way too long. In today's SHTF situation, must people just want tutorials that are focused and direct to the intended subject of education. At the end of the day, you have the option to do as you wish. I just wanted to offer you a word of advice.
Thanks for the advice, I will take it onboard
Kids keep it simple… stupid ( you forgot stupid)
Jesus H. dude, get to the stinkin' point! FOUR MINUTES in and you still haven't gotten started. Adios.
patience is a virtue
@@TheBugOutShop Not for TH-cam.
