hi guys!! :) i'm so sorry i've been m.i.a. this week- i got really sick and i haven't been able to do anything and then finally when i was feeling better, i had an all day photo shoot to go to and the next morning i woke up feeling WORSE!!! i'm finally better, so yay!! but i'm so sorry for the lack of content, but i promise i'm going to be serving it up next week babes!! anyways, if you have any budgeting and money saving tips or tricks, share them in the comment section!! love you guys xo
i just want to mention that i discovered you literally three days ago and i've been binging your videos lol. what made me interested was obviously the content but also how you edit, i freaking love your editing!!!
The whole tax things is so weird to me. In Australia tax is automatically taken from your pay. When tax time comes around, you just lodge your income and any out of pocket expenses. Usually you get a return of money as opposed to owing money. The only money I tend to owe these days is my student debt, which again is automatically taken from my pay. Seems like a way easier system.
These are very valuable tips! I recently started saving some extra money instead of spending it and I must say it feels good having this extra fund. It makes me feel more secure. 💖
I created a basic budgeting spreadsheet and it totally changed my life. I stopped being so stressed about money and I’m two thirds of the way through paying off my debts. It can be scary sitting down and confronting everything but it is so worth it
honestly, this is the most helpful video on budgeting I've seen ever! Most of the tips I've never even thought of, and it helps way more than some budgeting videos which just tell you to wait for a sale
Hi Jess! Okay so I'm going to share what my Mom taught and it is pretty handy: List your expenses every single day, all of them and keep your receipts to record those expenses. For example, my budget is 100$ a day, I'll record how much I paid for a cab, how much is the lunch I bought, and how much would I save if I didn't go to Starbucks (Sis, it struck me in the heart when you mentioned Starbucks... but no worries I live in a province now so we don't have that here) so I save more than half of my money! AND there was a time I overspent coz I bought six bottles of perfume... (gifts) I can calculate how much spending should I cut off to "make it up" and srsly, it somehow works as a punishment for being such a spender.
Great video! I love your confidence and the research you've done to get to the information you need to OWN your finances. Can't wait to be in your level. I'm on my way!
hey, Jessica, your videos are so good and inspirational and the best thing is they are PRACTICAL. You are doing a great job and your content is great .
can you include in a video or insta-story your opinion of marriage counseling? do you think it's important for every couple? and maybe include what your husband thinks too
Love this and needed it! Why yes I'm going to Maui in September so after living there I know what to expect and can definitely budget for this amazing trip. I'm going to start planning today! 😀🤙
I know this video is old but I JUST found your channel..loving your videos! And all I can think is oh my god..you are Veronica Lodge..😍✨😊😘 Thankyou for all these amazing Girl Boss tips!! ✨✋💖🤚✨ xx
Agree with most of this except for the only use cash part. If you have a credit card you should be using it to build credit and you’re also able to get cash back depending on the perks of your credit card.
Oh I know an app to pay taxes as a freelancer and you pay them every 4 months. Which is easier than paying it all at once when tax season comes. It's called Quickbooks - Self-employed, there's a fee for the app but it helps a lot!
Wait can you explain why you would owe $5-8k for tax season if you’re having the maximum taxes taken out of your income? Maybe you can do a video on taxes?
pinkeeluvr Some people work as independent contractors so taxes aren’t taken out. You are given a 1099 (as opposed to a w2) and are responsible for all the taxes on that money - you are basically working as the employer and employee so you will owe money on both sides of that check. Also, tax laws are constantly changing so even if you thought you were having enough deductions taken out that might not be the case, even in a w2 situation.
The advice about using only cash is so wrong. You miss out on great credit card perks like cash back, amazon points, etc. Just make sure you charge responsibly and pay on time. Better yet, set up auto pay and you never have any interest
I totally understand where you're coming from and I think a credit card can be a great thing, but many people aren't as financially responsible, as on top of their money, and they might not be the best at paying their debts. That's why after I discuss the tip, I talk about how it's a more drastic measure best for if you're really trying to get ahead of your money and budget and/or if you have a spending problem.

Same thing in the US but if you are self-employed, then there's no one to take out tax for you.
These are very valuable tips! I recently started saving some extra money instead of spending it and I must say it feels good having this extra fund. It makes me feel more secure. 💖
