I really appreciate your platform video that makes the ideas about applied linguistics easier to me . I studied Applied Liguistics under the rulles of Professor. Adbelah El Haloui which is a famous liguist and activist of the Amazigh movement . I advice student to follow his video about liguistics for more details and great ideas about langhage as general phenomenon . Especial love from the university of Caddy Ayyad to our partners in the English department at Ibn Zohr Agadir .
Si El Halloui used to be my classmate in third cycle in Rabat. He is very good at using EdTech. Happy you liked my little modest attempts. Please, share among your students so that I can get more encouragement to continue these endeavors. All the best.
Hi sir, I very much appreciate your efforts with this helpful platform video. I am a student of S5 linguistics and my professor is P.Hanane Darhour. Thank you so much.
The way how he delivering the information related applied linguistics is make me easier to comprehand the issue . Keep goin on sharing knowledge Prof. Thanks you
Dear sir, there is MISTAKE with the date... it is Brumfit (1997:93 ), "the theoretical and empirical investigation of real-world problems in which language is a central issue” (Brumfit, 1997, p. 93) not (1977). Thank you Brumfit, C. (1997) Theoretical practice: applied linguistics as pure and practical science.
You are most welcome and I am really glad to hear you appreciated this modest work I managed to do despite lack of logistics to do such things. Thank you
Hello sir, Thank you very much. I studied much on applied linguistics but this lecture was immensely helpful and easy to understand. Sir my question is : Do TEFL, Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis etc. come under the applied linguistics?
Please sir, could you give the complete names of the linguists? McNamara..., Garbe... who are them? I would like to know the whole names to search for extra info. Thanx a lt!
it would be better to explain more the last headlines such as subfields of AL and it's relation with teaching rather than the " boring " point of history of AL dealing only with dates and scholars
I agree with you that this lecture focuses on the historical background of the development of AL. This is however the main purpose of this lecture.Other lectures deal with what you prefer though. Thank you for passim by and showing some interest for this modest endeavor of mine that I do despite the lack of logistics.
I advise you to apply for linguistics because it's more practical than literature. It's more difficult than literature but it's more important . I will apply for linguistics this year too. Good luck 😊
It is a branch of linguistics where the primary concern is the application of linguistic theories, methods and findings to the elucidation of language problems which have arisen in other areas of experience. The most well-developed branch of applied linguistics is the teaching and learning of foreign languages, and sometimes the term is used as if this were the only field involved
Really I spent more than an hour listening to this video concerning an introduction to applied linguistics, but to no avail. It's a useless lecture!!! . Regards
I just had to sub because I´m going to a course that covers contemporary linguistics. What is linguistics? Linguistics is what happens, when a vaccer is beaten the crap out after all the hatred and intolerance...and is then sent directly to the hospital, where he has to use his language to explain to doctors what the fuck went wrong.I shall not feel sorry for such a primitive vaccer´s justified treatment, but shall robustly support the use of science, to justify freedom of choice to speak one´s mind and make independent decisions. Thanks for the upload man!
