Why is no one talking about Pep's refusal to adapt his system to the players he has available vs the perfect squad? Why does Pep continue playing a super high backline and inverting a defender after so many games where our MF completely exposed our defense who were caught out too high up the pitch and we either dropped point or lost completely ( MU, Feyenoor, PSG, Brentford etc)?
Why is no one questioning Pep's game mgmt? Love Gundo, but he can't play in the 6 and yet Pep still puts him there to see out games over younger lads who have the pace and power to tackle and defend? He opts for control, but loses the control because Gundo and Silva and Kova don't the legs anymore. It is like he is only willing to play one way and so far it has been an abject failure
Why is no one really questioning that? Is it not the case that the definition of insanity is simply doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different outcome? Is Pep not doing the same here, at least as it relates to the defensive aspect of the game?
Ps. Unless we get in a proper MF and given the next 6 PL games we have, there is def a possibility that we only take 6 points or fewer from them. I think top 4 might be out of reach
