Just Wow! So sad that Busch Gardens was sold and all these amazing shows are now gone. Busch really was the industry leader back in the day!

Back in the eighties i worked at this show in Tampa- Busch Gardens...i had to watch the audience to make sure they were not filming. The show in Virginia is different. They had more 1950s rock music and less country music in Tampa.

I worked that show also. Backstage.

@@stevenbelcher8830 I was in Kaleidoscope at Busch Gardens Tampa. I remember those quick changes, especially from the 50's section to the patriotic finale. My favorite was the 40's section, especially Dancing in the Dark. I can't remember the name of the backstage dresser (Bunny?) who use to read palms, but she was great. The patriotic finale with the "fireworks" was pretty advanced for the day.

@@dantove963 Must be Berkley. Someone has to have a copy of that somewhere. They had "Shadows on the Wall" "Those Famous Feet". There's no business like show people" Come along as listen to the lullaby of broadway" I go to rio and of course the main thing, Kaleidoscope, changing color and styles. and a few others that this one doesn't have. Do you know anybody that might have a recording of that??

@@magicalmike3629 That's right! Shadows on the Wall featured the large and heavy mirror that was lowered and tipped over and the girls, in their Busby costumes, and the girls laid on the revolving floor and made patterns reflected onto the mirror. It was amazing! Famous Feet was a carry over from Hats Off To Hollywood from Williamsburg, as was the entire tap slot machine number. The Tampa iteration of Kaleidoscope had a significantly better opening number, which Desmond (or was it Peggy Lax), said was supposed to be the Finale. If you remember, the lyrics were, "And this is the end my friend of our journey in time." But they switched from the Finale into the Opening. There was also an entire Atlantis underwater section that was cut. I still remember some of the cast, Michael Marr, Chris Snow, Margot (who later played Miss Lilly at Disney World), Lisa Quale... to name a few. Such a fun show!

I lost count as to how many times I seen it. I loved the show. It was also great to get out of the heat at the ice cold marocco theater. After the show ended it Tampa, they had another show in it's place. Forgot the name of it but it was ice skating and they opened with the song, Hot Hot Hot by Buster Poindexter. Loved that show as well but not as good as Kaleisoscope.

      Much different.

@@stevenbelcher8830 The Tampa version was a combination of Hats off to Hollywood, Kaleidoscope and new material. It was, at the time, the most lavish and expensive theme park show ever produced. All of Busch Gardens shows in their heyday were spectacular, first rate. So sad to see that Busch Gardens today is just a shell of its former self and is basically a six flags park.
