  • Sri Sanjay Subrahmanyan, accompanied by Avaneeshwaram S.R.Vinu, Nanjil
Arul and Manjoor Unnikrishnan, comes up with a brilliant rendition of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal's song in Kamavardhini, "Paripalaya Saraseeruha Lochana".
I quietly take you on a tour of the ancient palace where the Navarathri Mandapam is situated....the silent, dark, dusty rooms and corridors that the public would never get to see, normally speaking. Unfortunately the place where the concert takes place is really dark, because one uses only oil lamps
there. The ambiance inside is unbeatable though and I found it extremely beautiful to find Sri Sanjay Subrahmanyan's vibrant music washing over the entire complex where Maharaja Swathi Thirunal lived.

Beautiful ! I wonder if the palace still being occupied regularly. To be able to live in such a vibrant atmosphere filled with ambient music is a blessing indeed !

Thanks for the wonderful walkthrough of the palace & the beautiful music at the background ! That one glimpse of Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple was priceless ! I think I know where I want to be during the next Navarathri :-)

great ambiance...sir i have a doubt. Whether this kutiramalika and the nava rathri mandapam are situated in the same padmanabhapuram palace?

In Thiruvananthapuram/Trivandrum in Kerala. We have two music festivals normally. One during Navarathri and the other, from January 4th to 13th every year.
