Digital IDs help deter people working illegally however, and also, your data is already available to the government just by being in this TH-cam comment section.
They aren't going to get rid of cash, just do what other countries are doing and slowly decrease the use of cash but they will never get rid of cash because that will literally stop people wanting to come visit our country, even China knows this. But there is a benefit to this and it will help if they do continue with their pledge to update the PAYE system so tax is collected alltogether to avoid tax evasion, which is literally why our country is failing.
Many businesses do cash only to tax evade, you can't give me another reason why they'd not do contactless.

We've almost reached the point where if you don't have a mobile phone you don't exist. I'm part of a generation that considered the mobile phone as a luxury gimmick, now access to a bank, money, job, pension or internet purchase mostly demand a phone.
there are ways around it. I had one before they were even popular as I travelled around and my kids might need to get hole of me. Soon as I left that job I ditched the phone and still do not have one. Banks have a small machine (does cost a nominal fee) that allows you to access online banking. Only think I found I needed it for was a credit card so I ditched that

Theother thing being missed is what is being done to disabled people and also social care.
Myself and my wife are carers for our grandson, we have been since he was 4 years old he is now 20, we do not get any sort of carers allowance as we are both pensioners, i want to know what is going to happen with disabled people, he is blind in a wheelchair and can only use his left hand.

Both are authoritarian, but there is a good thing that the Lib Dems have more seats in parliament so they can object to some of the things that labour introduce however this was most likely tactical voting and both Labour and Lib dems are pretty much in the same boat of kicking out the tories putting aside their authoritarian and liberal divide for the moment.
