Wow!!! No sun and those du ls are just eating up that small timber hole, has to be the calling and being under their flight path. Awesome hunt, Rusty!!! Thanks for sharing
What are habits of the ducks in the timber? Are they coming from another location to feed? If so what are they feeding on the timber? Or do they go there for safe haven? Trying to understand the life of the duck patterns. Thank you
So are they flying to the woods or already there overnight? I have hunted in a bay cove early in season and hear many shots inland compared to on the water. Are those ducks inland hear being shot you think already there and getting jumped out or will the majority fly into the timber from what other kind of surrounding? Thank you for your response

@@jimdrechsel3611 definitely have to have water in the woods. They leave the woods at dark and go feed in the fields and then come back to the woods the next morning
What kind of fields should I look for? Do the fields have to be cut? Corn? Soy? I don’t recall seeing ducks in a field. I see geese but not ducks. Do those locations change of course during the season crops? Late fall? Winter?

Typically they come to the woods to loaf and to get away from pressure. They will feed on acorns and other food there also.

Rusty do you blow the Breaker all season or do you use a quieter call in late season?
It’s versatile enough that I use it all season 👍👍
Another dandy!
Appreciate you
