It's so great to see people get into classic literature. Not because of any snobbish reasons, but because it's awsome when people discover genuine joy and love in something that is seen as intimidating. There often still is such a bs elitist mindset when it comes to classics that makes people believe that they're "not smart enough" for them or that classics are all simply boring and pretentious, and it keeps so many people from stories they might enjoy. I always love it when people take the jump and end up loving what they're reading. ❤
I love your collection, may it continue growing! ☺
Agreed! I actually started reading more classics because of her genuine enjoyment of classics. Usually people that read classic make is so pompous way ("it criticised society in such a manner...") that it does not make classics about reading a good book and genuinely enjoy it.
@@jessicajessica4392it’s possible to still enjoy and analyze the text and discuss the commentary on what it’s doing while having fun reading the book! it’s strange that people separate the two as if two things can’t happen at once.
@@witchreads You can 100% do both, some of my favourite books are classics that are enjoyed because of their commentary on life and society, but many classic reviewers do not focus on their genuine enjoyment. When talking about classics, Bella is genuinely excited about those books and genuinely enjoys them and expresses them, rather than focusing on how "brainy" a book is. it makes classics less intimidating even big ones. She also admits that she did not understand some parts/where she struggled.
@@jessicajessica4392why is that pompous? can't we have genuine conversations anymore instead of sounding like a broken machine with no opinion of their own like "i enjoy this" "i enjoyed that" 🫠
The emoji stickers and memes inside the books is actually too iconic this is what literature is all about
EXACTLYY you get it 😌
the annotation tabs on display is literally a DREAM of mine. To imagine how much time you’ve spent on them 😭💗
Same here
I personally don’t agree I think it makes the book look distasteful however I personally prefer to highlight and annotate and when finished reading I then go back over them and put them on note cards. However I do still use tabs but only on a few pages that I feel are very important to me. I have personally had a book covered with tabs and it just made me not like the feel and look.😂
Literally started The Count of Monte Cristo after your review! 400 pages in and I love every aspect of Dumas' writing.
i'm so happy you're enjoying it!
Such a great book - hope you love it!
the amount of classics i gave a chance bc of your vids is life-changing 💗 you'll always be an iconnnn bella !!
also YESSSS to that persuasion reread! i did the same this year and it's still my fav austen novel
shut up this makes me so happy 😭💗
this video is basically Bella admiring her own tabs and annotations for an hour and ten minutes LMAO seriously tho i wanted to thank you for communicating your love for classics to us, i started my own journey this year with the picture of dorian grey and it's all thanks to you
step by step is definitely the way to go into classics! just think, i also went through what you're going through right now and look at me now!! if i can do it, you can too 💗🤝
Did you know that I never would have read such an intimidating book but you loved count of monte cristo so much I picked it up and loved it so much Im rereading it again. Thank you so much for spreading the beauty of books with me 🫶
this makes me so happy 🥹🫶
12:11 “when have i ever had so little to say?” LMAO i adore youuuu
DITTO 🥹💕
I am so happy you enjoyed the Count of Monte Cristo! Every time you mention it in your videos my heart does a happy dance. Dumas is my one of my favourite authors, his book The Three Musketeers shaped me as a person. If you enjoy epic tales of friendship, found families, intrigues and adventures I would 100% recommend it. Also, it is kind of a series (after the Three musketeers, there is 20 years later and after that one there is 10 years later also called the Vicomte of Bragelonne), but each book concludes the story it is telling and the continuations are really a way to spend more time with the characters.
The Three Musketeers is deefinitely in my TBR!! I might have to see if i can make space for it in 2025 👉👈
@throneofpages i would love to hear your thoughts on it!!🔥
I would love to watch an in depth manga tour also! ❤
me toooooo
And hour and 10 mins video??? Thank you queen for saving my mental health yet another week 💞
thank you for coming back for yet another week 🥹💕
These books are loved and brought you into a whole new world that you can enter again and again. What treasure you have.
i love how excited you get about the books you thoroughly enjoyed I am the sameee
"Atmospheric" is the perfect way to describe Rebecca. It took me a bit to get into it, but once they got to Manderly, it really pulled me in. It felt very Gothic, and I loved that oppressive, creepy mystery feel of it.
I would never write in my books but I do like seeing how it looks when people do it so this is perfect for me😂
I was like this 3 years ago. Now I'm like her but I prefer using post Its because this way she does look so much for me
You have such a fun way of engaging with a book. You also seem very proud of the tabs and marks that you have left on the books (almost like they are the more important thing to show off), but that kinda makes sense since the books must be a much deeper experience for you because of this and that might be your real point.
You seem like a lovely person! Nice collection!
It's so nice to see other girlies into classics and also stuff like anime and manga 💕 amazing stories in so many different forms!
Now we need a top ten classics!
Girl i can't stress enough.. Whenever I am need of something soothing to watch you post... ❤❤❤ Hope you are happy and feeling good!!
You too 🥹💖
I could be wrong… but I think she read war and peace
stop how did you know that...
just finished Monte Cristo and I love it so much
taste!!!!
I’m also excited for the annotation video and the Les Mis vlog!
It’s the way I bought every classic you didn’t like it before your reviews because I though you were going to love them🤡 amazing video as always, your copies are STUNNING 🤌🏻
oh- 🤡😭
Oh my god I saw "Grandmaster of demonic cultivation" on your shell... ohhhh I love that series!
I love this video so much because if i remember correctly, one of your annotation videos was what got me into this channel - and this channel made me all the more passionate about classics (and diverse reading tbh) ❤
this makes me so happy 🥹💕
i wanna know how you tab so prettily and the systemmmmm, it's so pleasing to look at how none of them are too near or far away from each other
i promise the annotation video is coming 🫣
@@throneofpages I can't wait!!
I love reading classics and I am so glad to see more booktubers coming out and saying that they also like reading these books. I used to watch Jennifer Brooks when she did her discussions on classics (or anything really), but she sadly passed away earlier this year and finding other booktubers who share the love of classics has been difficult. One day I wish to annotate the books I've read like you do, but I can't figure out how to do it without messing up.
Stoic = Stō-ick
I LOVE all your reviews. My goal this year is to finally read the classics, and there are 31 I want to read, and so many are ones you talked about. It's so encouraging to hear your enthusiasm for them. Jane Eyre is my favorite book of all time. I have three physical copies AND an audio book, and they're all a bit different! The annotated one is nice bc it translates the French, which is helpful, and interesting to finally k ow what she and the little girl are saying to one another. 😊
1) I love that you gave advice for how to pick a translation, bc I've been wondering that as I try to pick which version if classics to read, and
2) what is this Discord of which you speak, good lady?? I don't use Discord, but I'd love a place to have a place to ask questions, etc.
3) Ack! Leaves from the Vine? Too soon! 😭😅
I love the Arden editions of Shakespeare for reading. They have notes at the bottom of each page to help with the language and they are so accessible! We used them in college English Lit
waaaait that sounds perfect for me!! looking them up right now 👀✍️
I read Les Mis this year and it was an amazing journey!! I am looking forward to watch your reading vlog about this piece of art!! 💞💞🙏🏻🙏🏻
First of all awesome collection.... Also I loved your enthusiasm and love for books. It's inspiring and infectious, thanks for sharing....❤
I love Dickens! And Alexander Dumas is phenomenal!
Love love loveeee when u randomly speaks spanish mid sentence>< idk why it makes me the video seems like we are close friends just having a chat ❤
WE ARE CLOSE FRIENDS JUST HAVING A CHAT 🥹💗
“It becomes more than a book when you leave a part of yourself inside it“ 🥺🥹❤
Also I’m currently reading The Count of Monte Christo so this video came at the perfect time Bella!!💙
ahh i hope you're loving it!! 👉👈
@@throneofpages yess it’s slowly taking over my life now ahah 🖤
The way you push yourself to read intimidating classic books is so inspiring for me, that's why I've read War and Peace! Thank you Bella 🫶
i was the whole time only waiting for the war and peace mention. that joke never gets old jjhaddajhas
👏 AND IT NEVER WILL 👏
Yes!! I needed to hear your voice before my exam tomorrow!! 😭😭😭
Good luck on your exam!!! I’m sending you all the good vibes!! 💫✨
whenever u do the pinky promise at the end I also hold my pinky up to the screen, it's so cute 💗
I do same! 💕
I LOVE Y'ALL 😭🥹💕
@@throneofpages WE LOVE YOU TOO
As a (new) lover of several classics, I'm obsessed with this. Also my first video of yours, and I'm a happy new subscriber!!!
also I was in Les Miserables twice years ago (on stage) -- I tried SO HARD to read the book. It was just too long lol
14:22 i’m crying, that’s so special and true 🥹
yay! no hay mejor forma de empezar mi sábado que con uno de tus videos 💗🫶🏻

Love all the classics. Also, knew you were Dominican the minute you said “ Que te digo!” Love it.
Crime and Punishment is on my wish list... I am going to buy the book soon.. excited to read and see for myself
yes yes yes!!! i hope you love it 🥰
I love the in depth discussion you give for each book that you've read, how they impacted you. You have definitely made me put a few classics on my TBR for 2025.
I'm so glad I could inspire you to read some classics! 🥹🫶
The way you keep introducing me to classics! I love your collection! ❤
Wait have you not read Wuthering Heights? 👀
thank you!! and yes i read wuthering heights years ago!
Absolutely LOVED this video!!! I have Frankenstein on my tbr for the end of the year and you just made me even more excited to pick it up! The love you have for Classics is contagious!
i hope you loooove frankenstein!!! it's an amazing way to end the year 🥹💞
Bella this is literally the most perfect video ever
I AGREE 😳👉👈
You should start a fable bookclub🥺🥺
Y E S !!
currently reading the count of monte cristo bc of you haha it's so juicy and gurl i love that the chapters are short 😉
i'm glad you're enjoying it!!
You literally inspire me to read classics! I was afraid of them for the longest time but I love them now!
this makes me so happy 😭💗🥹
@@throneofpages thank you for inspiring me💛😭🥰
I really enjoyed North and South and I love the mini series!!
i've been wanting to watch it for the longest time!!
i have been watching your videos since around the monte cristo vlog(and yes it is one of my favs now) but i don't usually comment but like everytime i go onto youtube to find a long video to play while i work, you have posted one recently. You are my fav youtuber to listen to and rewatch and relax(especially your vlogs) when i need to work for several hours straight
thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, it's made me really happy 🥹💞 honestly the fact that you even took the first step (getting a copy of les mis) is huge!! baby steps can go a long way, especially considering you're still intimidating, the fact that you're still trying is amazing 💕
I cant believe how many you own and also have read! Honestly amazing
Thank you so much!
you should do a tier ranking of classics you’ve read i would loooove it
i got SO excited when i opened youtube and saw your video😭🩷
I hope you enjoyed! 💖
your reviews of classics make me want to read them
That makes me so happy to hear! 🥹💖
I love classics and I want to read more of them. Thanks for this walkthrough. I got ideas on which one to read next. :)
Oh thank goodness I can sit here for an hour and be comforted instead of packing for a trip tomorrow LOL

so excited for this! whenever I read classics or look at them in bookstores, I always have to think of you! (Especially the count of monte cristo 😮💨💗) I know I’m going to be putting more classics on my tbr after watching this 🤭🫶
this makes me so happy omg 😭💕
I finally ordered my copy of the count of monte cristo so I can read it before watching the new adaptation, but I can't look at it without thinking of you, who inspired me to read it, so thank you Bella! ☺️🤩
this makes me so happy! 🥹💗🫶
I discovered ur channel when you posted your count of monti cristo blog and i've been here since❤ so proud of u and how far u have become with your classics🥺🤍
this made me so happy 🥹💞
wow, how do you align the tabs so beautifully?
The tab asmr was so good! they look great
I'm new here and i love how you passionately talk about books❤
I've always enjoyed Classics and Gothic Lit but this last spooky season I really feel back in love with it. In particular, I loved Jane Eyre and Rebecca. I just got that same beautiful edition of Anna Karenina and plan on reading it via audio next month. December is going to be a fun reading month because I have eleven holiday-themed books on my TBR, two of which are Classics that have become tradition every year - A Christmas Carol and The Nutcracker.
You have incredible reading taste, I love Jane Eyre and Rebecca too 😌🤝 it looks like you're going to have an incredible reading month in december!!
Finally a classic tour 💞🥹 gracias bella!!!!!!

Just found your channel because of your Count of Monte Christo's video - I'm actually reading it (I'm French so... in French of course) and I looooooove it so much. And after hearing you say "Tale of two cities is my favorite Dickens's novel" and "the Dracula's cover is better than the book" (witch I HATE so badly.) I decided to trust you for all the others books 🤣
And you love Anna Karenina too ? Yeah, I definitely trust you now, and I follow 🤗
my new goal in life is to tab like this 😭😭 THEY ARE GORGEOUS, and i also remember when you read anna karenina that was a time ago, omg the journey 😭🫶🏻💌 love you and your videos so much
thank you so much 🥹💞
As a fellow person who STRUGGLED with 100 years of solitude, I really recommend Love in the Time of Cholera. It highlights Marquez' writing but is much easier to digest
Nice look at your classics! It's nice hearing what you think about them. A reread of Persuasion sounds nice too.
I'm so in love with your classics collection 😍 This video gave me so much serotonin 😌
I’m so glad! 🥹💖
I looooved the well of loneliness!!! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it!
I don-t know if you started Dante yet, but as a student who has to study it at school, it is worth it
Have you done a video on annotating books? I don't really annotate my books that aren't like info/self-help type books, so I'm always curious what's going on in there when people mark them up
i never realised that there was an eye on the cover of crime and punishment, i thought i was looking at an ancient iceberg or smth, now i'm so creeped out asksks, glorious collection btw, you've def inspired me to give classics a fair chance and i'm a better reader for it
an ancient iceberg HAHA that's so real 😭 i'm glad you've given classics a chance, they're so worth it!
You’ve inspired me to read classics something I haven’t done since high school 😂 ❤ btw have you ever thought of doing a in depth manga collection tour?
That's a great idea! 🥰
I started reading The Count of Monte Cristo this month!! I’m on page 329 and LOVING it!!
I hope you keep loving it 🥹💖
I finished! 😭 It was SO AMAZING! I didn’t even know what to do with myself after, I spent so much time with that book 😭
This video is so warm and beautiful, thank you for sharing with us Bella. I hope you always find joy in this space and in your life 💞
you are so sweet and kind i hope you do too 😭💗
starting the count of monte cristo soon because you're inspiring. I'm a bit scared but very excited. I don't think I ever would be remotely interested in reading it if not for you :)
you can do it!!! 💗🫶
You're encouraging me to read classics so bad!! I bought war and Peace and Anna Karenina based on your reccs ❤😊
Just remember if I can do it so can you!!
I’ll be reading Count of Montecristo next year. I am SO looking forward to it. I’ll be here commenting when I do! You got me wanting to read war and peace, crime and punishment and especially Rilke.
you should deeefinitely give Rilke a try, it's going to heal parts of you you didn't even know needed healing 💞 i hope you love the count of monte cristo!!
@@throneofpagesthank you. Love you, Bella ❤️
0:15 Omg, I love the meme JAJAJAJAJAJAJ
20:13 I've painted my nails while listening to you, and I absolutely love listening to you talking about the books you love🥺💞
23:26 I love it, I totally see Jane Austen writing rom-coms JAJAJAJAJ
46:30 Thank you, War and Peace💘💘🤣
1:08:29 I can't wait to see your reactions to those books!!!💟
bbygrl, if you loved monte cristo, watch the french movie that came out last year with pierre niney. the actors are so good (I’m french and usually don’t like french cinema so me liking it says a lot) and honestly it motivated me to eventually read the book to get back into this world
the queen has done it again👑
You're my favorite TH-camr❤
another classic that is a MUST READ is Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser!! I am currently reading it right now and I am all consumed by it!! Also love your videos girl!!
oh? 👀✍️ i had never heard of it before but now i'll definitely look into it thank you!! 🥰💗
when i studied abroad in Italy, the translation of The Divine Comedy was by Robert M Durling. I've read other translations, but i thought his was the best woth keeping the feel of the original while making it understandable. a year later when i read it in a supernatural lit class, the class had a few different translation versions, but most agreed that was the version they liked more as well.
i just wanted to say that your love for classics is what inspired me to start my classic journey too! 💌 I'm not very far, but i'm excited to go on ☺
that makes me very happy 🥹💗🫶
I love Vincent Van Gogh and I want to read his letters!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH BELLA!! thank you for doing this and for motivating so many of us to read classics. i am reading crime and punishment as i type this actually 😆
oh and also, a video on "beginner's guide to manga/favourite mangas/manga collection tour" video maybe? as someone who is just properly getting into manga, that would be so helpful 😍
i hope you love crime and punishment 😩✊ and that's a great idea 👀✍️
Pastel sticky tabs should stay on Notes From Underground for sure❤
really 👉👈
Amo los clásicos 📕🪄👸🏻📖
Omg you read war and peace?🤣 Pride and Prejudice was my first classic and Crime & Punishment is currently my third classic. The annotations in the beginning are so satisfying. Okay so maybe I should read the unabridged journals before the bell jar.
omg i did how did you know... also crime and punishment being your third classic is so hot of you 😩🫶
