@Faboou3 As to whether or not this song is about Christianity or God or anything else, I believe it depends on the listener; that's the beauty of music. It can mean one thing to one person and something completely different to another. However, I for once have played this at church before, but still can see it being used in other realms. Beautiful song.
man I bought the album online but didnt get any of these bonus tracks. makes me want to buy the cd all over again! my absolute favorite band. thanks for uploading!
This band has strong christian roots, and it shows every now and then, although the lyrics require a bit more of a deeper interpretation than average christian music. They have clearly separated themselves from the likes of Third Day and Switchfoot, but ive noticed some of the subtle references to God and stuff like that. Either way, this band is legendary and deserves every bit of credit one could give
I don't care if this isn't a "Christian Band" or if they didn't mean this to praise God. I use this as worship every single time I listen to. Just like Lifehouse's song Everything. They claimed that it was a "take it as it is" song. Either way. Everyone can agree that it's a beautiful song. I can't get enough of it..
I do see it as Christian in a way, which is one reason I like it. But it's not just the lyrics I like. These guys are bloody good musicians, and they should make whatever they want, because they'll sound awesome no matter what. :D
A band that is entirely connected to who they are as people, who are musically sensitive, and poetically connected to the world around them. You can call it what you may but I'd say it has the all the inner workings of the greatest band on the planet.
I love this song. This song got me through some tough times in my life. Thank you for sharing but I must say that despite what your comment is about the song I believe it is a Christian song. They might not claim the name of Jesus or label themselves as Christians anymore this song is completely about the mercy love and grace that God has for us. We could never comprehend His perfect grace but He loves us anyway despite all the wrong we do that's why he sent His only Son to die for us. Thanks
I'll be using this as my wedding song next year. I am an adamant atheist, but it doesn't bother me that this song may actually be written from a Christian to God. I have personally found this same belief in another person, rather than a god. Religion may not be your thing, but I think it's better to focus your energy on finding that belief in someone or something else.
OMIGOSH!!!!! I swear, all i listen to nowadays is Mutemath and John Mayer. I love this song, it's beautiful. They really should put the Reset EP songs onto their own album with some other songs
@vinnay1231 This song was a God-send when I got dumped by my fiance over 2 years ago. I was listening to this song as I went to meet him for the last time as my sweetheart. I just threw myself at the feet of Christ when that happened and true to His Word He picked me up and restored me!
@wakeuptothelies Much respect to you, very few people people show respect to each others beliefs on TH-cam, whether it be Christians, Atheists, and everyone else that finds it necessary to argue their beliefs on a video site. You totally got the idea of the song right, too. Congratulations on the marriage, this will be a good song for it! I'm glad that a song can mean so many different things to different types of people.
@Biggestmutemathfan thank you for uploading all of their awesome songs. as far as this song you are entitle to your own opinion, i can see where you are coming from but what else could he be possibly talking about. that is all. I worship to this song sometimes.
I interprete it like the best of friends, lovers and sidekick. Reassuring you as opposed to mean people that but you in that state of mind in the first place.
Hey! No problem, just wanted to get their material out there! Its obvious that hes talking about god, im not denying that. But its just left up for interpretation for anyone to gather what they wish from it. There was a comment somewhere that said this song reminds them of their late dog.
@TheMoneyKing1991 A fairly rare album Reset EP which was released in 2004. According to Wikipedia, "The album went out of print in the US in 2006, but was re-released in the UK on July 23, 2007." I'm unsure as to if the songs are available for legal download from amazon or iTunes as I managed to obtain a CD copy of the album before I even knew it was such a rare disc to acquire. If it's unavailable legally I recommend eBay for finding a CD copy of it. Please don't steal it.
Yeah this song is really good. And i dont have a Favorite Mutemath song, serriously i like ALL of the songs on thier albums. Amazing band; scratch that, the best band ever!
lyrics in More info, don't see them:P But it's OK, I love this song, and I have heard it so many times that I can dream the lyrics:) MuteMath is the greatest band in history, if you ask me!
@Biggestmutemathfan Even though they may not call themselves a christian band, they can still make songs with christian messages. The same goes with Owl City. Not a christian band, but a lot of lyrics that have obvious references to christianity related things.
Yes it is Unexplainable, And ive been waiting to see them again. And when i do actually make someone into a fan, They wonder why they've never heard of them before. And i Just say that Music is all about Money these days.
@Tittytooty I don't have a yes or no answer for this but they could be like how Paramore is and Flyleaf and such. They sing secular music but they have band with christians or mostly christians and have they have songs like this.
I know that this song wasn't meant to be christian or religious, but you take what you will from the lyrics. If you want it to be, then it can be. It's all about how you look at life, but then again, isn't everything?
Wow. Youve been Missing out. And that is why i made this. They are the best ever. And yeah i have my ringtone set as Reset. Everyone asks me. Wow!! What song is that?!
I understand what you are saying in your description of the video but would have to say I think this actually is a Christian song. Some of the lyrics sound like Bible verses I have read before. And nobody has perfect grace other than Christ.
As far as whether or not the song is Christian, he does say "This human mind can't calculate..." Unless he's talking about a dog or a robot or something, I would like to think this song is about God. That's just me, though.
@Biggestmutemathfan but the message sounds like they are... few of the members r christian, even worked in a christian band...., but they r not christian band,, sounds confusing... What is he talking about when he says,.."i dont think i could repay ur perfect grace... you become my embrace..,you dont recall my past mistakes...this human mind can't calculate ur perfect grace.."..who is the 'you' they is talking about?
It is a matter of defining "Christian" in the context of music. If you mean "Marketed and promoted by a Christian label, to be played on Christian radio, and aimed directly at the Christian demographic," then no, it is not "Christian Music." But the songwriter is a Christian, the band members are Christians, the song clearly expresses a Christian sentiment. So in that sense it is Christian. All this negativity illustrates why the band did not want their record company to promote them as CCM.
@jddqd Go to the Mutemath website and red the info on Pauls religious facts And then Watch this (Type into youtube search - Mute Math Bonnaroo 2007 Interview) Im not saying that they arent Christian, Now i'm a die hard fan and ive done hours of research... but you can judge for yourself
This song has always found me at my lowest.
It reminds me that of the God that died for me and made everything ok.
JC did the same thing for you!
this song is seriously comforting to the soul. honestly i just can HEAR Jesus tellin me, "its ok. its ok. i still love u" amazing
Always makes me feel better on a bad day

One of the greater songs life has had to offer
wow... I never heard of this band till now, and I must say, I think Im gonna be a fan very soon :) what a lovely song, so mellow

I have loved this video for 11 years
A band that is entirely connected to who they are as people, who are musically sensitive, and poetically connected to the world around them. You can call it what you may but I'd say it has the all the inner workings of the greatest band on the planet.
I agree. These are Christian lyrics. Doesn't really matter, but their faith definitely shines through into their music. I like it. :)

He was the singer/rapper/keyboardist in the Christian Band Earthsuit and they had a cool sound...but I love me some Mutemath!
Yes it is Unexplainable, And ive been waiting to see them again.
And when i do actually make someone into a fan, They wonder why they've never heard of them before. And i Just say that Music is all about Money these days.
Biggestmutemathfan big fan here too
One person lives without love...Dumbledore says to pity them. :P

Wow. Youve been Missing out. And that is why i made this. They are the best ever. And yeah i have my ringtone set as Reset. Everyone asks me. Wow!! What song is that?!
It's about Christ. Christian. No one else has "Perfect grace"..
I understand what you are saying in your description of the video but would have to say I think this actually is a Christian song. Some of the lyrics sound like Bible verses I have read before. And nobody has perfect grace other than Christ.
If you dont want to label it as "Christian" so be it. But it is very much a song about God's perfect grace.
I think the description is talking more about Genre distinctions.
Does it really matter Rodders? Let it be what it may :)
aaaaagreed. this song is about God's sweet saving grace.
peace & love.
I could argue with that but every song has a different meaning for everyone.
It's ok. ;) :D
Please message me, i would love to know where to get this song, i've been looking around everywhere and have not been able to find it. Thank you!
As far as whether or not the song is Christian, he does say "This human mind can't calculate..."
Unless he's talking about a dog or a robot or something, I would like to think this song is about God. That's just me, though.
@Biggestmutemathfan

@jkh1920 woow praise God!!
"This human mind can't calculate your perfect grace" doesn't sound 'distanced from Christianity' to me...
i cant find this song anywhere =[
Who care's about "labels" only close minded i think. I think that this song is easy for Christians to relate to.
@Biggestmutemathfan but the message sounds like they are... few of the members r christian, even worked in a christian band...., but they r not christian band,, sounds confusing... @goodeyedear7
LOL! :D so funnyyy!
@TheJakedrums Sheep? Okay, buddy. You're entitled to your opinion, even if it is a sad, mistaken one.

I'm pretty sure this song is DEFINITELY about God lol... but regardless if it is or not, it's still a good song...
@Tittytooty No no and No, They never were!

most people who dont believe in God just have too large an ego. :)
@ConectateBand Yeah because God is exclusive to Christianity...
