violence has never got us to a place we want to be. The reason we have power is because of union and that is just a fact. Racism is a mind fuck made up by evil-powerful men to justify slavery. It is amazing to think how this dominates our country to this day.
Jorvikson it’s not limited to one race, it started with black people because the Europeans that originally visited Africa felt threatened and devised a system to handicap a potential threat to their power...they apply the same racial bias to any non white culture that they want to exploit or denigrate. Asians, Middle Easterners, Latinos, Indians (from India), Native Americans, Inuits, etc, etc. How about you name a non white culture that European descendants have exempted from their racial bias?
Don’t get me wrong I’m not talking about all white people, but definitely most of the white people that have power on national scale keep it by “managing” the potential or the exploitation of other cultures. Which leads other susceptible people to believe that that is the way to achieve success. Just imagine if an alien species came to earth and viewed European descendants the same way Europeans historically viewed other cultures, those aliens would be considered evil...

Humanity has created religions and cults and belief systems for centuries because it has always craved subservience in return for salvation. Superman gives us just that with the added bonus of him understanding the human condition.

How many times has he been attacked with kryptonite? eleventy billion or so? Dudes still here. At some point during his reign im fairly sure he will collect every chunk of his misbegotten shattered world that landed on earth and hurl it into the sun. Sure there will likely still be SOME around, but its a finite resource and every kryptonite lance, or room painted in kryptonite, or missile with a kryptonite warhead that gets used on him fails, there is that much less to use again. I realize that the standard argument for this setup is, "Its all well and good to give total power to the perfect man, but what happens when he gets a bellyache?" But this is superman, a being who will live forever under a yellow sun and is constantly getting stronger as time goes on.

In her second argument more so, but completely Lex in her first against an alien overload. The Lex comparison also works for her argument about one rich (superhero) in power.
So her argument was that Sups was on a reporter's salary.
In all seriousness, her estimation was WAY off about Superman
Her argument was that Superman is an all-powerful immortal alien whose motives and future intentions can't be anticipated and that humans have a right to self-determination. _Not_ that he was on a reporter's salary.
In a way, I actually think SUperman was right to take power..
Even Batman doubts at times whether Superman and Wonder Woman now also really do the wrong, by taking control to fight evil.
They do not attack religions or politics, but exterminate oppression of women in the Middle East, liberate homosexuals, stop insane civil wars and remove every power of mad dictatorship in the world.
(It is also very interesting that Wonder Woman's mother Queen Hippolyta agrees with Superman's decision and supports both him and her daughter in their choice of power to secure the world.
For Queen Hippolyra is an impoverished Amazon that does not believe in humanity because of their violent groaning and oppression of women.
So maybe such an old and clever person might be a better judge to assess what's best for everyone, not Batman.
In addition, it is quite strange that there are no more people who support Superman in his decision. I mean, see what happened to Metropolis! 11000000. People slaughtered in 1 attack from a psychopath that Batman and Gordon could never stop.
And who, along with a sea of other killers, constantly resigned from Arkham Asylum.
(And then there's the big question about power)
Darkseid is as powerful as Superman.

Superman chose only to help and never shape his world.
But because of it, dead people, wars continued, hate spread, lesbians and gays were persecuted and racism continued.
And the people continued to slowly destroy the world. So the Superman dictates the whole fate of The Earth.
In one way or another.
Now he just takes control, and so people fight for their right to kill each other.
So yes ... I would say that people and especially Batwoman = a lesbian - are hypocrite.
Because she is fighting a man who rescues homosexuals from being oppressed and persecuted.

In addition, batman is no longer particularly moral. Even Lex Luthor says that Batman's methods are without honor and that they do not differ much from Superman's philosophy, because neither Batman nor Superman are 'good' people anymore.
I mean look at what bats did in year 3 and 4.
He poisoned Diana and Clark so they ended up in eternal coma - which is the same as killing them, even more pitifully.
In year 3He brought the Greek Gods in to beat supes and because of that just put in another dictator. Remember when zeus shot lightning at every major religieus institute? How many people did that kill?
Some may say it wasn't his fault and he was tricked by Ares but Batman still allowed it. He himself knew Ares wasn't to be trusted and he went along with it anyway just to get to supes.
Batman's superpower is being the smartest guy in the room, how smart was it to enlist the help of historically most infamous divine dictators (Ares) as back up agaisnt superman, or worse put faith in one of them most Untrustworthy number? Talk about taking a bad situation and putting somthing worse in it's place.
Il say it again both Batman and Superman have crossed the line here.

But the Superman is perhaps the one that is most logical because the DC universe is not a universe where humans can survive alone because of monsters like, Joker, Darkseid, Trigon, Ares, Braniac and countless other butchers that never stop.
So what is most important?
Is it life - that we survive, but without justice = Superman.
Or is it justice - millions die, but we think that's right = Batman.
Because survival is real. Justice is relative.

Not really, in my hero academia they live with normal people and work with them. they don't try and rule over them, it is more if Charles got his way. There is even a registration for people with powers, which is against what Mageneto wants for mutants.

Funny thing about Katie's argument against Superman is that he's physically an alien, but him being practically born but literally raised on earth makes him human. Some could even argue that he is biologically human just with mutations that make him stronger and more durable than people.
Imagine trying to fill your taxes in the X-men or Spiderman universe... You think filing them sucks *now* try when the government changes on a dime.

Well, it is a bit different though. Guns can be properly regulated with mandatory training and background checks. There are also limitations to what firearm normal civilian can own. But with superpowers, everyone will have it at a certain point, regardless of your mental health, and the lethality of powers can vary from a pointy rock to 500 hydrogen bombs tied together.
Except criminals have guns, too. The idea that "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" is patently ridiculous, not the least of which is the definitions of "good guy" and "bad guy". The world is never so black and white, and it's dangerous to try to live that way.
And when you really get down to it, how do you tell the good guys from the bad guys on sight? If you see a guy walking towards a school with an MR15 strapped to his back, is he on his way to kill children, or just picking up his daughter from school while exercising his open carry rights?
with Soren's mutant universe you would also have to deal with reality warping mutants

Well, it depends. In those comics where they presuppose that Superman is fallible just like an ordinary human, then Superman would not make a good leader. However, under the premise of a Superman that is *infallible* which was more prevalent in older comics, then Daniel's point rings true.

You see that's the problem with superheroes that I feel no one ever adresses. They are basically nukes with their own intelligence and free will. We must blindly believe that they are inherently good because if they weren't... oh boy would we be totally screwed!!!!!
Therein lies the problem with superheroes. We fear the powerful will go against us. We want to control them, out of a sense of self-preservation, but if we try, they rebel leading to the very thing we were trying to prevent. Look at Civil War.
That's the whole point of the x men... Not even at a deeper level, it's the message of the entire franchise. They get judged for their powers not for who they are, yes there are some bad nuts but to be honest there are more mutants trying to do good than mutants trying to do bad
No we believe *Superman* is good because he has proved infallibly to be good lots of Superheroes are assholes who switch between being a superhero and a villain if you would even go so far as to draw that line in the first place
uhm, but if they do evil things, then they're just super villains which the super heroes need to confront.
At the point that we're totally screwed, we just call them super villians and point the nearest super hero in their direction.

I found these a little after my dads passing and I won't lie... It helped me through a dark time. I don't get to watch movies with my family anymore and when I watched these it brought back great memories and also opened me up to new things. I just wished they never stopped and fired everyone.. I wish they would do these on their own. Miss these after hours.

The worst part of the X-men ruled universe is that most powers will inevitably be weak in comparison with others. Like one guy can telekineticly lift some small stones while someone else has the same powers but it's enough to lift a house. It's pretty much random who's in charge. Also we know that breeding for powers doesn't work since magneto's kids don't have magnet powers, instead one is really fast and the other ... i don't really get what scarlet witch does but my point still stands

There is a single superpower which, if everyone had it, would result in a true utopia.
Empathy. If everyone had true empathy, there would be no conflict.
If you could feel the harm that you were inflicting on someone else as if it were happening to you, you would stop. If world leaders felt the oppression that they imposed on their people; felt their people's hunger pangs their greed caused; felt the burning, agonizing deaths of the people they killed - there would be an instant worldwide peace. If corporate executives could feel the sorrow and stress and pain that their greed caused, everyone would be paid a livable wage. If people felt every blow struck, felt the sorrow of loved ones left behind, felt the violation of their victims - there would be no crime.
Even ideological conflicts would resolved without the harm we have now. There would be an understanding that, despite not agreeing, we are each doing what we believe is right. That our differences of opinion aren't a result of stupidity or malice, but simply of a difference of experience. If you realize that the person sitting across from you is just like you in all the ways that count, you'll be more inclined to listen, and to seek compromise.
The world would reach a state of harmonious balance where everyone has what they need and no one is trying to harm someone else to get ahead.

Empathy has it's own problems though. Because sure, you feel all the pain you caused, but at the same time, you also feel all the hatred people feel towards those responsible. Everyone would feel it. Hate is an unbelievably powerful emotion. You're approaching this from the aspect of only world leaders had the empathy to feel the pain their people are going through, but imagine if someone on the street could feel the pain and anger of someone whose husband was shot by the police because they thought he was a criminal just because of his skin color? If everyone could feel everyone else's pain, then they would feel the anger and frustration that pain causes.
You say no crime, I say bullSHIT no crime! YES crime! Human beings are already easily swayed by their own emotions. If everyone in the world felt all the emotions of everyone else in the world, then emotional restraint would topple like dominos. People getting swept up in protests and anger? Imagine the entire planet feeling anger and suffering towards the people they view responsible for their own hardships. Suffering is not a manmade occurrence. Everyone working together to achieve world peace would get it- for as long as it took until a drunk driver kills someone on accident. And then anger and frustration begins to take hold of that person's loved ones, and everyone feels all of that.
Your beliefs might stop intentional acts of cruelty and suffering, but accidents happen and people want someone to blame. It's a GOOD thing we can't feel everyone's pain, because if we did, humanity would turn into an angry mob looking to exact vengeance upon the next person we feel is responsible for our pain.

Arguable at best. Mutants aren’t like normal ethic groups where the only thing separating them from the rest of the population is their appearance and upbringing. They are verifiably superior to normal humans in every way genetically. A frankly easy argument could be made that Magneto can see the writing on the wall and figures that pushing the humans off to the side will probably be better for their safety. It’s like normal discrimination, but if the oppressed were able to make things explode with their minds. And by that point, humanity would have screwed itself by trying to convince living nukes they had no rights and were freaks of nature. Magneto just wants to speed up the evolution process so that less people get traumatized, and more humans can live.

Also once a year, you can challenge the current ruler to a fight for the right to rule (if anyone so chooses to). But that won’t be as easy to accomplish since the king and his entire immediate family have access to some of the best sources of educational, physical, mental and spiritual training since childhood. So that if the next in line heir to the throne needs to take over, because the previous ruler died or went missing or became too ill to rule, then they would be ready to take on the role themselves. This would make absolute certain that only the most qualified people can rule. Whether they’re in the royal family or not.

that was my initial concern when I first heard about Wakanda and its customs. But I've also found that they are also educated by the best educational, war tactics, financial, political and even spiritual teachers in the countrty. Thus ensuring that not only is the King/Queen is the strongest, but also the smartest, most capable, competentand most sound of mind, body and spirit. So even if some large brute were to become the new king, he would have to be educated up to the same level as the previous King at the bare minimum once sworn in as king(or at least i would assume so).While simultaneously maintaining the kingdoms current state of progress and prosperity. Overall the job only allows for the most capable, competent and qualified of people.

Justin Umali Dan's definitely more of a Benevolent Dictator kinda guy. Soren's isn't fascism, but I see it rather as really really hardcore libertarianism mixed with social darwinism. Michael's is meritocracy which devolves in anarchy, and Katie's is like a normal democracy that just gives the executive extra powers and responsibilities (in both cases to punch criminals with impunity).

Normally I would agree with the reading of Superman being a benevolent dictator, but the thing is, that narrative totally ignores the fact that Superman is a foreign power subjugating a people he perceives to be weaker and unable to rule themselves. That's Western colonialism. The fact that he's doing it for reasons he perceives to be "benevolent" is inconsequential; Superman is a foreign invader, an imperialist, and Dan tacitly approves of this, partly because he benefits from this system, and partly because he is blind to the fact that he is talking of imperialism.

Don't forget that tens of millions of people are probably slightly better off today because of western colonialism (billions if you count WWI), it's just that it did a lot of bad things at the time. Superman isn't racist, and he doesn't need to exploit humans in order to improve the world.
Destruction of all large weapons, altering the climate through some kind of strength/speed thingy, and he could spend the rest of his days fighting militants and generating infinite power. People would still have prejudices, and there'd be disputes over resources (which he'd solve), but in a couple of hundred years we'd easily have a utopian society. And nobody even had to die.

Actually you're right since Latveria is one of the closest things to a utopian country. Top tier education, defense, and health care. Only problem is the occasional invasion invasion by the Avengers and Fantastic 4.

I always wonder if Soren and Daniel's dialog is shot at a separate time than Katie's and Michaels because you never see Soren and Katie or dan and Michael interact, and vice versa, maybe they've never actually seen each other, because they're never in the same shot...
Older videos have them getting face to face. Also the outtakes at the end of several videos shows them laughing at each other flubbing their lines. So its likely they are sitting together but the side to side shot is just easier to film and since normally each has their own views it works. Also the Jock/Nerd and Hot Girl/Creepy Guy thing is kind of in consideration I believe.

They basically film it twice at different camera angels. Once with the cam on Soren and Dan' side and once with the cam on Katie and Michael's side. So that way the dialogue can still flow as they film it.

It is said in the manga that before he started to work crime was very frequent. And as we see currently in the manga as soon he's gone, crime comes back. So they were just lucky to have a very nice person with OP quirk for some time.

As a fan of the web serial "Worm" I find this entire video hilarious. Mainly because it's right, and accidentally describes the entire series' universe.
It's actually a good parallel. Superpowers are given out based on trauma, and the type of trauma affects what you get... but [SPOILER]
they're also available for money. Plus, most of them are lower-powered than comic book heroes, rewarding those who use their powers in unique ways. Granted, all of society is crumbling and secret cabals rule over everything with no supervision or oversight by the public, and they ARE engineering an apocalypse, and they DO indulge in human experimentation, and they DO associate with known mass murderers... Okay, so it's not a great system.
To be fair worm is different because in universe they know everything would devolve into parahuman fudalism if/when current governments collapse- other than that it's just a combo of the mutants and spiderman future, the powers are semi arbitrarily dispersed, but limited so the nuke issue isn't so great- so the only stable governments are teh fudal ones where the more powerful force order by controling the less powerful and protecting the useful but powerless
