    You sir hit the nail on the head. I am about to do this for 3 tractor tires and have bought 120 gallons of -40 fluid but wanted to dilute it. Coldest it gets here is about -20 to -25. The reason for 3 tires is one is still filled with Calcium Chloride. Bad stuff. Thanks for sharing.

    The rv was already cut with water. I'm a former rv tech . In minnesota so u should run the rv straight from bottle we do in our skid.steer and small tractors

    Best value I found is buying a 55gal drum of -20 washer fluid and putting it directly into the tires. I'm in upstate ny where we see freezing temps a lot

      Your antifreeze needs would definitely be greater than mine. Thanks for the information!

    Windshield washer fluid is a methanol water mix methanol is hard on rubber and plastic. Makes it hard and brittle RV antifreeze would be better

      If that was the case you wouldn’t be using windshield washer fluid in your car which has a plastic tank, rubber hoses, plastic pump, and rubber wipers.

    Just bought rv antifreeze on sale for $1.99 gallon at rural King. Put 8 gallons in each rear tires for about 140 lbs total.

      Rv antifreeze should not be mixed. Use it straight

    Wow, great info...I'm thinking about tackling this on my Kubota L6060 which needs about 50-55gals in each tire....so assuming it's 5:1 ratio, I would basically need 10 gallons of -20 WWF in each tire huh...or probably up it to 15 gallons of WWF in each tire just to be safe for about 50 gals...I'm also in SW MO, so weather is practically the same as yours...

    I know this is old, but, I think that RV antifreeze is already "cut" and not to be mixed with water.

    I worked in a factory just out off community college more for some experience than for the wages unless you were able to do piece work. But I noticed that a lot of the old hands working the presses and shears etc were missing many of their digits on one or both hands. I found it to be quite disturbing and later in my career I became friends with a fellow supervisor and had to ask him how he lost two of fingers on the same hand. His answer was he just wasn't paying proper attention while using a steel reciprocating saw, and bingo they were gone. So if I may ask, was it a work place accident that you were involved in that cost you your partial digit ? Thanks

      I lost mine on a table saw back in the 80's, doing something stupid. Thanks for the comment!

    Seeing this was posted 2 years ago, has anyone got further comments regarding long term use? Has it turned out ok? Here's the thing, ten years ago, we filled a tire with calcium + water at a cost of about 20$. Due to our own fault we have seen a leaky tire rust out a rim. A replacement rim is 300$. If you go through 3-sets of tires on one rim you may be out 60$ in fluid costs or less (in one case we just recycled the fluid from worn out tread to new tread) versus 20 gallons of washer fluid (about 40$). But is there any ill effects such as deteriorating inner-tube or valve stem, etc? We all know the calcium effects.

      If you are filling a tire with the new beet juice you are being flogged about $550.00 per tire. A puncture in the field would be a heartbreak

    • @mlderr61
      @mlderr61 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      correction - two tires is $500.00 - filled with Beet Juice

      The fluid is still in the tractor tires with no adverse effects to the rims that I can see and is still doing the job. We don't have extremely cold winters however so it's probably not the most rigorous test.

    the question is how much does water expand when freezing about 10% so just fill your tires to 90% and it won't damage anything if it freezes that's the worst case so just put in any amount that makes you comfortable dealers recommend not filling to 100% OF TIRE volume anyway ps I grew up in Fayetteville

      jimgabbard112754 I see this is an Old Post but it's not okay to fill a tire with any liquid that will freeze the tire will not freeze solid only the top layer of liquid will freeze and if you use the tractor the shards of ice will cut the tube that's the problem
