Hey !! New video today, but this time i have done something different, so let me know which violin you prefere in the comments !! NEW COVER coming soon and i can tell you that it's from one of the song that i played in this video !! :)
Yeah the Italian has a more accurate sound ! also in those excerpts i had old strings on the italian, as i had new ones on the French, so that's a bit unfair i would say haha
The timbre of each is pretty unique! I'd say use both. Maybe the French for longer more dramatic lines and the Italian for more pop/staccato high lines. Layering them would be cool too though!
Having played lots of horrible quality serial made crate-wood quality violins in my younger years I always yearned for deeper sound. About 10 years ago I was fortunate to come across an early last century French instrument and I fell in love... never looked back. French it is for me any day of the week. In your case, both sound absolutely lovely and please accept many thanks for putting together this easy to take in comparison. Great job!
It's kind of incredible how much character these two violins have! I'd honestly have to say that my "favorite" really depended on what song you were playing. In general though I really liked the clarity of the Italian violin! What's your mic/room setup like? You consistently do such a good job of recording an excellent quality sound in your home!
Thanks !! i'm using T.bones sc 140 mic. and i'm recording with studio one software ! i don't have any special setup in my room ! haha i would love to improve that in the futur :)
Thanks for posting! French is definitely mellower- I prefer it to the Italian. Looking for a new instrument and now will focus on the French department. I play a Czech instrument now
@@Furyxx I Love PI strings. They're my faves! Do you have any idea who the maker / workshop of your French violin is? I'm currently in the process of trying to find a nice antique Frenchie with a similar sound to yours.
My violin is Italian. When it was still new, it sounded identical to the Italian violin you have. However, after a few years of playing, the sound has "matured" and almost a combination of the French and Italian violins you're playing.
They do sound a bit different, but it is difficult for me to choose one. I may have liked the French one a bit better overall but there were times my preference was for the Italian one.
The French has a creamy silkiness that I love! The Italian is lively and spritely. I prefer the French for myself, but the Italian is lovely in its own right.
You’re so talented. I love listening to your violin songs since so many years ago, it brings so much pleasure in my life and I feel your music can truly touches my heart. 😍😍😍🥰😘😘👏🏻💟🎼
Haha, I would like to say that I’m neutral as a viola player but the French violin seemed to have a richer, deeper tone :) They are both very nice instruments though!
Both sound great but I prefer the Italian for most parts. Interested in what Reverb plugin you're using though. Would appreciate if you could send the name if it's a specific plugin?
I love this video 👍🏼 but i know the different between violins is model and setup only , the french look like guarneri model , thats all ,, thanks for a nice video
Ce sont des créations de luthiers différents, en quoi celui qui est français serait caractéristique d'une fabrication française ? Même question pour le violon italien. J'ai eu l'impression que le son était plus rond sur le violon français et plus brillant sur le violon italien.
Both are excellent, but each instrument is distinguished by its Italian acoustic aspect in terms of clarity and sharpness, while the French in terms of softness and romanticism.
Can I hear the difference: probably not. I usually can't tell an expensive violin from a cheaper one, nor an older from a newer one. Was that first piece of music used in a Harry Potter movie? It sounded like one of the songs. Very nicely played, by the way. Justxa matter of opinion, I tjink you would look better without the beard you're trying to grow. Tell us which one was the French and which the Italian. Please.
it seems the Italian does not have much volume or penetration. French are known for nasal sounds. I think it's not so much where but when and by whom they were made. Like auto parts. The where is not as important as when.
I hope everybody here realizes how ridiculous this is. This difference will not change the concert experience one bit. Buy an Aldric for 40k or a Garimberti for 100 or a Channot for 70 or a Messori for 45. Diifferences are there but they are veeeeery small and they really do not justify the financial effort. If you compare some cremonese 18th with a 20th than it migh be dramatic but a good violinist is what matters most
I guess the implication is that these two violins represent all French or Italian violins, which is totally false. They're all different. Millions of violins, all different. Then with these two violins, if you changed the sound post and bridge, you'd get completely different results. Or just moved the sound post. Or just shaved a bit of material from one side or the other of the bridge. Boggles the mind.
El italiano suena mejor ,es más directo y brillante el sonido más claro ,el francés es mas suave y de menos proyección .se apaga cuando toca se toca más fuerte ,prefiero el italiano.

Both sounds great, very different indeed ! But what are the makers/models for those two violins ?! :)
What kind of violin string you are using on French violin?
The French violin sounded more full and dramatic to my ears. But they are both great sounding. Thanks for the comparison!
Definitely prefer the French for its romantic, warm sound. Any chance you could share the name of the maker with us?
I like the italian violin more. It sounds more clear to me. Especially the last excerpt sounded so much better on the italian one to me.
Yeah the Italian has a more accurate sound ! also in those excerpts i had old strings on the italian, as i had new ones on the French, so that's a bit unfair i would say haha
The yellow is italia
I think the same but italian instead french violin
Definitely the French one - way warmer and more emotional sounding.
The timbre of each is pretty unique! I'd say use both. Maybe the French for longer more dramatic lines and the Italian for more pop/staccato high lines. Layering them would be cool too though!

To my ears the French is "mellower" and the Italian is more "brilliant". I like the French better.
French violin just play in coffe restaurants,,,,

I came back to this fascinating comparison. I think your playing (which is excellent) sparkles a bit more with the Italian violin.
I love the French violin , what year was a made and what strings are you using on the French ?
It was made in 1876, and i used Pi strings on it !
@@Furyxx I Love PI strings. They're my faves! Do you have any idea who the maker / workshop of your French violin is? I'm currently in the process of trying to find a nice antique Frenchie with a similar sound to yours.
Great playing! Love the sound of the italian violin!
My ears suggest that, your Italian violin has old set of strings vis-a-vis it's French counterpart! That makes the comparison excercise Infructuous! 😉
haha you're right !
The Italian fiddle is brighter and more direct. The French is darker and smoother-edged. Strings could play a role.
Can you make the full version of Game of Thrones theme song? you played it really well

I love the strength and richness the Italian instrument has.

I prefer the French violin too; it sounds warmer!

Looks: French
Sound: French
Fun fact: MY VIOLIN IS FRENCH!
Haha, I would like to say that I’m neutral as a viola player but the French violin seemed to have a richer, deeper tone :) They are both very nice instruments though!
French. I thought I would like Italian, but I like the French better
French one sounds a little bit more “opac” and low, the Italian more Sharp
Both sound great but I prefer the Italian for most parts. Interested in what Reverb plugin you're using though. Would appreciate if you could send the name if it's a specific plugin?
I'm using the plugin Room Reverb from studio one !
@@Furyxx Awesome thanks so much!

Wahou ça déchire et que des tubes 🤩😀!!
They both sound good, but I prefer 🇮🇹

What is third music off?
Could you tell us the luthiers of each one?
I own an old Italian violin, about 150-200 years old. His sound is very beautiful. But I like the French violin more
You have an excellent sound (italian and french)
Definitely overall I prefer the darkness and sonority of the French instrument.
🇮🇹Warm ......ıı..... Brillant
🇨🇵Warm .....ıı...... Brillant
🇹🇷Warm ...........ıı Brillant :)
🇩🇪....?
Hi from Turkey
Türk
Hi! What’s the price range for the French?
Both are excellent, but each instrument is distinguished by its Italian acoustic aspect in terms of clarity and sharpness, while the French in terms of softness and romanticism.
The enhanced echo makes it very difficult to judge the real/true
sound. Surely that each sounded different, but not reality.
What the faux?
Can I hear the difference: probably not. I usually can't tell an expensive violin from a cheaper one, nor an older from a newer one.

I like the French one more overall. I feel like the Italian one would do more good for classical music though.
I want buy a new violin can you help me? Have you got a violin to sell?
haha i do have 2 violins to sell, if you want more detail you can send me an email ! tortuegenial38@gmail.com

Definitely the French one
There is clearly a difference
The light one is italia,,,the another is French
If you plays for coffee restaurant you play French,,,,you play concerto play italia
Y cuál te gustó más??
I prefer the Italian !
TH-camではさっぱりわからん。同じに聴こえる。
Violin france is the best

The French always sounds “nasal “ to me, 😂
The French sounds not very open, I prefer the Italian.
