You have explained a concept in 12 minutes that I was not confident on after a year of lectures 👏🏿. Maybe I just finally have the passion to learn the topic. TH-cam videos have always helped me to get the highest marks, I was foolish to depend on classrooms and lecture notes alone, I just don't learn that way.
Question: what if the area above the water table has a moisture content of say 15% - do we use dry unit weight or total unit weight in our calculation?
The effective stress diagram is the subtraction of total stress diagram by the water pressure diagram. The bottom of the total stress is reduced by 60kPa to get the effective stress at bottom point.
Thank you sir I am one of connecting to channel thank you ur guide I have one ☝️ question sir the last part the water pressure calculation You took 19.81 isn’t take the 20
He used 169 because when he calculated pore water pressure for 4-4, he used H=6ft. He can also use 139.6 like you said, but H must be = 3ft when calculate for pore water pressure

Thank you.
I don't remember it exactly now

Only if my lecturers explained with such clarity! :( I would've enjoyed it more
Glad it was helpful!

I have one ☝️ question sir the last part the water pressure calculation
You took 19.81 isn’t take the 20
thank you very much but please i need treated question under soil consolidation.
DEAR FRIEND CAM YOU HELP TO CALCULATE THE STRESS OF POURED SAND IN HESCO BATION
Thanks. But at 3-3; why use 169 instead of 139.6 since that is the resultant stress?

Thank you💫
You are so welcome
Can you please let me know the author name of the soil mechanics book?
Thanks but i need stress and strain of beam do post it.
Nice good but if you share with same example pdf file it's good
Would like to know about unsaturated conditions
I think Similar procedure...but you'll use dry unit weight in your computations...
Pore water pressure will be zero( since there's no water)
thank you teacher
You are welcome
Life saver
good work detailed with graphics, now can you draw the static free body diagram of the particular example, I think it should be shown, thx
Thank you Sir
Most welcome
tHANK YOu soo much sir
Most welcome
Good lecture
Thanks for liking
