Hi Scott! Is it okay if I upgrade, for example, from version 2.7 straight to version 3.0? Without installing versions 2.8 or 2.9 etc? Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!!
Thanks a lot! I did an update and it brought in a whole bunch of new presets, not blank like yours shows. I like some of these new ones. I did the back up beforehand so I want some of my old ones restored, and some of these new ones. I guess if the new preset list has no empty slots you just have to get rid of some of them so you can import some of your old ones from a previous backup into those spots?
Hey Scott…I just got a new stomp xl.. is it ok to install the latest version if the current is pretty old.. or should I install each update in order.. hope that makes since 🤘
I just purchased a Stomp and need to update to latest firmware. I have not yet created any presets or changed global settings. Therefore, can I skip the restore backup step? Thanks!!

I am trying to find the best way to manufacture a basic clean sound with the HX stomp and my Variax 700 acoustic...but can not find out wich way is the best to go? The guitar is already modeling sounds as different guitars!! Any ideas? Pre amp or what? nothing, just straight in? Best regards
Nice! I love my variax, and I’ve been looking at the acoustic one. Guitar tone is very much up to the user. When I use my variax on the acoustic model I usually go straight in. But some of the blocks like the studio preamp might get you the sound you want. It’s all up to you to mess around with it to find something you like 🤘
@@ScottUhlMusic I bought my acoustic 700 years ago - love the way it feels lika a real acoustic in my left hand, and love that I can use it the studio together with the band together with different effectboxes. Since we are playing very soft (read V-drums and tinnitus) I could not do this with a "real" acoustic, that would only leave the big and natural sound all over the place and no effects would be heard. So now I am very excited to give my Variax som new sounds with the Stomp. Did listen to your duo - sounds great!! Where in the states are you situated? I live in Sweden, Malmoe in the south. Really love you videos!
Love how sonically good helix is but line 6 had to fix a lot of quality control problems with the unit cause there are tons of it over the Internet. After weeks of not using my unit post update the it started going bonkers and the stomp box was unrecognizable to helix edit and updater. Reinstalled the edit and updater and still the program doesn't recognizer my unit. Now I am unable not only edit patches but also unable to update the stomp box as well 😅
Hi,Im totally New to this device,before I was Used amplifi TT and I want upgrade. So first think what I need to do will be backup and then move to download hx edit and hx updater?Hx edit will come on desktop automaticly after plugin Hx Stomp to PC?for any info thank alot
I’m not sure I understand. Are you trying to update your amplifi? I don’t think this is the way to do that since HX stuff are for gear in the helix family
Pressing all 3 foot switches clears all presets? I haven’t heard of that. But unless you made a backup, I don’t think there is a way to get your files back. Sorry 😞
I have updated my Stomp to 3.0, I have to extra blocks on the device, but I didn't get any of the amps and effects in the update (f. e. Poly Pitch). Can you help me? Edit: I did make a backup, but the presets were still there when I did the update
That's odd. You for sure updated to 3.0?... that's really weird. When you turn on the HX Stomp does it say "firmware 3.00.0"? Also, the poly pitch is under pitch/synth, MONO. Did you check there? Also try turning it off and then back on again. Sometimes I need to do that to finish the update.
@@Lotastic_Films But you are seeing all the patches and new pedals in your HX Stomp? Sounds like an issue with HX Edit, or you might need to download the newest version of HX Edit.

Yup. You’ll have to remove some of the factory presets to put your own 👍

Ok gotcha. I would just follow these steps unless it’s different on a Windows computer that I don’t know about. But it should be the same
Good morning, i accidentally pressed all 3 footswitches and cleared all presets. Do you know how can i restore everything?
