Dual Superchargers and 1,100+ Horsepower Street Build!

  • The GM LSX engine has been built in just about every configuration imaginable, but Holley and Prestige Motorsports took it to a new level by strapping two TorqStorm centrifugal superchargers to a bored and stroked 427 cubic inch LS1. On pump gas this bad boy makes over 1,000 horsepower without breaking a sweat. Check out the build and the dyno sessions.
    Please note that the engine has been given away.

      One torq storm is good for 700 HP no matter what you put it on. Running two of them might look cool but in reality your 2 times the drag on the crank and probably 4 times as hard to fit under the hood

      jimdouglasgregory I don’t believe it’s that much harder. Think their alternator relocation bracket is setup to make installation of two easier. But yeah I would say unless you want 4 digits of power one is going to be enough. Especially for a street machine.

      As someone who has run a lot of prochargers and currently runs a F1A-94, the boost curve on these twins is probably near PD blowers vs a peaky single centri....
      The TS single centri has more meat in the curve lower which kinda caps them a bit with 700hp...dirt cheap too...
      I'm BBC but for what I have in my PC brackets and head unit, I could run the twin TS....AND mounting possibly an AC MUCH easier....

    • @jamesscott5407
      @jamesscott5407 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You set the Dyno to pull a specific amount of revolutions per second during pulls, the operator has a varied choice and will make his decision based on some variable such as what kind of power is expected and the intention of the engine...if you want a quarter mile car you can map more aggressively and errrrr on the leaner side of fuelling for that power burn, if you're building a burnout car you keep it slightly richer to keep the temps down for sustained high end revving!! Pulling different speed rates on a Dyno allows you to fine hone these things.

    • @SoI_Badguy
      @SoI_Badguy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      427 LS7 = 505hp
      427ci + 15psi = effectively double the displacement
      Double 505, you get 1010... 1100 isn't bad. Considering it's a blower motor though, it probably takes like 200hp just to turn those blowers at peak power.

  • @dwightlooi
    @dwightlooi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why have TWO blowers when you can have ONE which is larger and hence generally more efficient? All else being constant, a larger aerodynamic device is ALWAYS more efficient because while the device scales geometrically, the air molecules and their fluid dynamics do not. If you are going to use two, at least have them sequentially so each is responsible for a lower pressure ratio.

      Sorry. I'm not affiliated with Holley in any way. I just had the opportunity to document the engine build and because it was a giveaway I included a link to the contest because I thought it would be fun. Didn't realize that the contest was nearly over. Anyhow, thanks for watching!

      I see so many high end giveaways like this & it's so obvious that they've been FRAUDULENT that I'm surprised nobody files a grievance with the government. They must have a Federal Gaming Department so we have a way to start forcing people who do these giveaways to do them according to the Law or be Forced to FORFEIT The Item. It gets sold & the money goes back into the Federal Gaming Department so they can be self sustaining! I hate to see this happening constantly and hard working people get SCREWED out of a chance to get something they can't afford. Isn't that what it's all about in the first place?
      **JUST MY OPINION**

      They wanted to the engine to be super stable and (at least relatively speaking) easier to drive.

      I think exactly as it is shown in the video around $24K or so. But the guys at Prestige told me that with a few different components they could get it down below twenty grand. Thanks

    Considering the let down at low rpm's the higher boosrt had i would not go that route for a street beast.

      Don’t understand? It’s stroked and has a flat torque curve. Hell of a beast for the street.
