Thrice is such an amazing band! Sori almost brought me to tears because I completely understand, and this song has brought me to tears many times in my life.
Bands such as Thrice lyrics come from all members n the like. Drum parts , guitar riffs made together as a whole even some of the producers take part. But ur not wrong....they have been quoted as being lyrical geniuses very early in their career! Their song Beltsville Crucible was inspired from their producer n the process of creating and struggling to make a "perfect" album. Also lyrics "shortcuts through graveyards" are direct inspired lyrics from a walking path they took. Yes Thrice is my favorite band otherwise I could not know this💯😂
Dustin's been going thru similar feelings of late, Sori. Falling out with his church etc. Great lyricist, great band. I love this era of Thrice (Vheissu - Alchemy Index - Beggars)
Glad you are doing more of this band. The more you do off of Vheissu the better. It's their best album. Although I love the fire tracks from Alchemy too.

Long time listener, first time caller.. Just wanted to point out that the 6th song on each Alchemy album ends with a line in iambic pentameter. So while the last line perfectly caps off amazing lyrics, you can essentially put the last line of each 6th song together and make a poem in its own right. The writing on this album was legendary. The music industry as a whole has no idea what it’s ignoring. This 4 part album will stand the test of time.

I would just do full listens of each disk. They are not very long only about 25 minutes each. Lots to talk about, some very very moving songs, I'm sure there would be some crying (The Whaler)

This album was just such a moving album. It came out around the time my father passed and it was such a depressing and yet comforting album all at once. This song had a very similar effect for me as it did with Sori here.

It's difficult in most songs to evoke an emotional response but somehow in 2 minutes, this one can draw out an incredibly heavy response despite its easy sound and short duration. Silver Wings always sounds so ethereal to me, something about this song just transcends so much of the bullshit that recent Thrice and in-particular, Dustin has been linked with. The way the song perfectly describes all the things that air does for us as a reflection for what God does also; was just masterful song writing. I miss old Thrice, but am glad I was able to see them at least once before jumping off the train.
You should seriously consider reacting to Thrice-T&C! It's an old track of theirs. But it's such a fantastic song. Most people especially artists or , fiercly driven people...etc. People should be able to relate with the lyrics in some capacity!

The band is incredible. The front man Dustin Kensrue has some solo albums and holy cow the man has made my grown butt break down in to tears.
