I went overboard last year. Had a beach theme and kept adding more and more stuff to fill the main beach cart. I started with the extended version of the Want Need Wear Read poem, plus a stocking but kept going! Overall it was just way too much for my 18month old This year I’m doing a stocking, 3 gifts (Head, Heart and Hands) and a Home group gift. Love your idea to already have a plan for a home for incoming gifts
It's honestly so easy to go overboard, even after recording this 2 weeks ago and being "done" with their shopping they keep asking/adding stuff!! I keep reminding myself of this video which I largely made to hold myself accountable in retrospect haha!! i love the head/heart/hands!!
I have to admit, I go overboard every year. Way overboard. But we have no family so it's just us. There are no presents coming from outside of our home. I want her to wake up on Christmas and be wauwed. Also, her birthday is in March so I buy throughout the year and divide it up between Christmas and her birthday. I just went back and watched your Christmas haul from last year. And now I'm curious, was all of it loved?
Haha my mom did the same with me each year so as long as it works for you guys it’s a win! And it was not!! I mean it was in the moment but not in the long run. That was a huge part of why this year I wanted to do things different and honestly it’s soooo hard not to go overboard. I literally had stuff in my cart three times this week when I reminded myself how I made this video partially to hold myself accountable lol because last year it just got away from me 🤣 We also do switch witch in October, then Christmas, then a birthday in Jan. So it’s just a lot in a short time
Best building toys!i have magnatiles and megablocks. I love rotating these ad my boys ( almost 3 and 1.5 years) get bored after a while. I was thinking about adding more building type toys but now I'm worried I'm going overboard 😅
Building toys are definitely the bulkiest to store so that always stops me with going overboard haha. We have magna tiles, trains, legos (didn’t introduce until 3 and 5), and regular blocks. Magna tiles are def the most used. Have you seen these www.make.do/confidentlymom10 - we just ordered them after a friend raved about them. Great for kids who love to build, but it uses cardboard boxes so once their project is done you can recycle and don’t have to worry about rotating/storage until your next big cardboard weekend. We usually keep a big box of cardboard in our garage and pull it out in the driveway for free play/outside building so it makes sense for us! Truly one of our favorite building “toys”
