So I watch your vlogs/videos regularly and often my hubby to be is in the background doing other things. But the other day while doing the washing up he starts singing Dave’s I’m a dinosaur Jurassic Park theme 😂 I turned and looked at him 👀 He had no clue where he’d heard it, I was nearly on the floor laughing and it was a good few minutes before I could tell him where he’d heard it 😂😂

Lovely to see you nesting, and getting ready for when your little man arrives, so excited for you guys, definately sleep with the blanket as your smell will be on it then which can help sooth baby. Wish i had a pod like that for when my boys were born.xxx

So excited. I cried once I had the cot was made and nursery done yes he won’t be in straight away but it’s nice to have it done and god knows when we would have found time to do it after.

I love watching Dave doing his DIY, he’s so funny, he reminds d’s me of my younger brothers saying whenever he was doing diy, he used to say, “it’s like working with a man off” 😂😂😂 but great job on the cots xx

In the U.S. a cot is what you sleep on when you go camping 😁
You’ll find wet wipes are amazing and great for everything. Especially getting paint off your hands 😉. You’re doing great 💙

with having chip it will be nice to have the cot as at some point dave will go back to work and you'll need to leave him to pee eat. And chip is such a big softie but he is still a dog and barney will only be little.

Daavveee, how can you put it together wrong...twice? :p Haha just teasing you. You did a great job. Even I got emotional, seeing the cot there.. got flashbacks of when we had the cot and were getting the nursery ready for our daughter...and now she is 10 and going to 5th grade in september. Crazy.
How nice of Snuz to gift you both the cot and the pod. That's amazing. They look very pretty as well.
Aww Chip. He knows something is going on, he just doesn't know what yet but he knows it's got something to do especially with you, Soph. He's trying to protect you and you can tell he's a bit worried about you. So adorable though. When Barney is born, let Dave bring home the first diaper(with nr 1, not nr 2 in it :p) and let Chip sniff that. He'll recognize your scent. Also, when you come home from hospital, Soph, you go in first and say hi to Chip and give him some attention, then let him meet Barney. That's how we were advised to do so and it worked perfect with our dog. He was so protective of the baby and he still is her best friend now :) He even came to wake me up everytime I had fallen asleep on the sofa and the baby started making noises because she needed to be fed. It was the cutest thing. :) But Chip...that side eye though haha :p
You are going to be amazing at this new adventure. Always trust your own gut feeling! That's what I learned the most during my 10 years of being a mother.

Not a fan of the "new" castle colors either.
In Canada we call the baby’s bed a crib a cot is used for camping and not even like a bed
I know its everyone's personal choice .But get baby straight in his own room .They sleep so much better . Both our girls 7 and 10 went straight in their own room and they slept 13 hrs none stop . They've gone to bed amazing every night since.
It is highly recommended to have the baby in the same room for at least the first 6 months. It has been proven to reduce the risk of SIDS a lot. I had the midwife and health visitor ask me about sleeping arrangements for the baby. Obviously they can't make you do it but when you see the statistics and how much of a difference it makes I know I personally wouldn't risk it.
@@rkeegs92 for hundreds of years it has worked . And tbh once your asleep if baby is beside you or in its cot anything could happen and you wouldn't know until you wake up anyway . You could spend all your life worrying about ifs and buts . We was the only couple in about 5 friends who had babies at the same time that put baby straight to cot and we were the only one ,even now who have good calm sleepers . And thankgod nothing happened to any of them babies there were 12 babies altogether over space of 3 years . Not being funny but the midwifes and health care I speak to at my mums work most did the same .They said they wouldn't mess about with half the regulations out there .

Weve had 5, and nearly a year they spent with us. Some good sleepers some not.
You just lucky with kids that slept, not all do despite everything you try
@@mfoth20 apparently one of the reasons for sleeping in the same room is that mothers naturally wake up if their baby is in distress just down to instincts, you're less likely to be aware of this on a monitor as it's often silent distress. I'm not sure where you are based as I know it is more common in the US for people to put babies straight into their own room. In the UK everyone I know has their baby sleep in the same room as them, it may not last the full 6 months but everyone I know has done it for at least 4 if their baby out grows the crib early.
Death rates of SIDS have dropped a lot in modern times, just because people used to do something doesn't mean it was right. They didn't have the knowledge we have now and babies would die and it was just accepted as something that sadly happened. It's only know through research we know that there are things we can do to lower the risk. Unfortunately someone can do everything right and SIDS will still occur but it happens a lot less now. Everything when it comes to raising children is personal choice and I just know that after looking at the research I personally wouldn't take the risk. If anything did happen to my baby I would want to know I did everything I could to prevent it.
