I have so much respect for you who really tries to do 0 cycles without eidolons. The skill expression and game knowledge is crazy + you actually annotate/have a guide for it. Easily one of the best MoC content creators out there, keep it up man ^^
This is actually so nice to see as a noobie Because I thought I was just super bad at the game and that's why I can't MOC even 8 😭 but it turns out that y'all put in a lot of effort and consideration instead of just going in blind
Sorta, the amount of planning required in the vid is just for 0 cycling w/ no eidolons. Don't feel too bad about it tho, clearing MOC normally(not 0 cycling it) is mostly just a stat check and a little knowledge check. If you have meta chars like Acheron/FF w/ their proper supports, you can pretty much just brute force it. If you don't, you need to build more characters that are element appropriate for the boss. So it's normal for you to not be able to clear the first few MOCs as a newbie unless you whale or refresh daily.
I’ve come to have a new appreciation for pieces with hp% after starting to attempt 0-cycles, even on my dps. I can’t beat this without the silver wolf lc unless I get hit rng so lucky that I can tank his phase 2 first attack and use Acheron ult then to get the BS ult debuff or I get the damage boost totem on acheron phase 1, and he buffs the aoe totem on phase 2, and I get lucky crits at a 88 cr. Possible, but completely unrealistic rng to try and go for. I really hope I never see the DoT elite again. Another great video from my goat.
Yeah, they make a huge difference. I've started to value a lot of random stats quite highly, like the random pieces that I levelled in early versions that somehow have 14% effect res to activate Broken Keel. Or just HP main stat pieces with SPD and stuff. They can often be the difference maker in these.
i know that youve summarized everything and all but i wanna know how do you preplanned your run, did you test first with pen and paper/ tablet on your side or calculation etc. Pls answer i really love to know the thought process behind it all
I sometimes do 0-cycles, but I don’t really aim for them. Generally I start with a run with a sustain, and check the damage. This isn’t really necessary if you are already planning to 0-cycle with a specific character, but it does give you some insight on which characters can actually 0-cycle. Afterwards I will plan for the 0-cycle depending on the damage dealt. I start with a basic dps calculation, basically assuming full buff uptime and seeing if I have enough damage. Generally this is a lot easier for characters like boothill, firefly, or Acheron, who have one damage source and good buff uptime on their best teams. You generally want to figure out a rotation for the best damage with relics you have. For instance, for Acheron you generally want 1 ult in wave 1 and 2 in wave 2, for boothill you can run 4 turns per cycle or 6 if you have enough speed, DDD, and eagle. You also want to have a good idea of how much each support can boost your damage, as well as sp requirements and energy requirements, noting that missing some is fine depending on how aggressive the enemies are(killing an enemy gives 10 energy, getting hit varies between 5-15 energy). Then I take the team into MoC to test. After this is usually where I try to reduce damage and not die. Depending on the scenario you can build enough speed to outspeed the enemies or target the enemy with more damage. I also sometimes have to change builds or lc for rotation/buff uptime purposes(for instance cogs instead of motp for ruan mei if she doesn’t have enough energy, since cogs can give energy if she gets hit). And then you basically keep trying things until it works.
It usually starts out with a general idea. Who I want to showcase, or a general strat I want to showcase. Then I kind of wing the builds and test it out immediately. Sometimes, I'll have to do a few adjustments as some minor SPD differences can make a world of difference. But after a few tries, it usually becomes clear whether the strat is 1) easily achievable with minor adjustments, 2) potentially possible with enough adjustments or 3) impossible or humanly impossible (i.e. requires too many resets). Funnily enough, the time-wasters are the ones that look like they belong in 2) but are actually in 3). The other person mentions about calculating DPS but I've sorta started becoming lazy and skipped that step because I find it easier to test the numbers on the ground and manually adjust for those numbers instead. I.e. if my ult does 500K damage to Argenti and I recorded my CDMG, DMG and other combat stats, it's quite easy to estimate what the skill will do and what the impact will be if I change certain relics or buffs. After that, I kind of just iterate on the strategy. When doing a failed run, it's quite obvious what the next 'failure gate' will be so I work on ideas to overcome it. And then the next. And by the end, it'll become obvious what all the important failure conditions are to overcome and I'll think of different ways to overcome all of them. In general it's not true that you can sequentially overcome multiple failure conditions as it could be the current approach to fix one problem might cause another to fail. Sometimes there is a solution to overcome all of them, and sometimes it doesn't exist and you don't see the run at all. It also helps that I've done a lot of these runs with many different chars, some which are close and some which are not. So I do have a much better feel for what is possible than most players. This also makes it easier to know what is worth trying and what is not.
Sparkle's more overrated and performs well enough in cases where you find yourself low on sp, however otherwise bronya is better for her 100% action advance especially when you use gallagher. Bronya is just better in that regard
Sparkle better over all, Bronya better for specifically 0 cycling moc cause her action advance is 100%. I tried a lot to get Sparkle to work this moc (cause it worked last rotation) but using Bronya instead was the trick.
It’s not super helpful to simply say which is better in a vacuum, each of them have their own independent scenarios where they will shine. Which damage dealers are at the top of the meta will also influence the results. Obviously calcs will favour Bronya since her raw buffing potential/AA is higher but not every team can sustain running Bronya at full potential Sparkle’s advantages include better SP economy, out of turn buffs, and longer lasting ult buffs. She’s more desirable for DHIL or Seele, and a solid option for FUA attackers. Bronya’s advantages include being able to do the -1 tech more effectively for more allied turns, and cleanse debuffs. She’s more desirable for damage dealers like Jingliu or Blade, and also is great for Boothill, since he doesn’t care for Dmg%/CDamage/Attack, but simply more raw actions. Sparkle is more flexible and easy to use regardless of what other supports there are, but Bronya can have much higher peaks and can even be a solid option on non Crit Damage Dealers
You can look it up on fanmade wikis and stuff. I don't really calculate explicit dmg numbers since I change relics very frequently so I mostly just go for ballpark number ranges
@@iliketrainz4030 Something like that. I usually do a dry run with the overall strat to see if the damage numbers are feasible and if the damage taken is bearable. And after several iterations of both, I do kind of get the hang of what is possible (like minimum amount of HP required) and what is not.
SPD or atk boots depends on the setup surrounding Acheron. If you're using an action advancer like Sparkle or fast Bronya like in this run, Acheron's SPD does not really make a difference so ATK boots. If you're relying on her SPD and actions to gain energy like with S1 or E2 and WITHOUT Sparkle or similar, then SPD boots may be good. I've never actually tried 1 nihility + sparkle for normal runs so no comment on that.
@@EiDehGaming well, am glad I pulled for her eidolon then! @@fettie1981 The main issue with E1 Swan support is more that against 2 phase boss, she struggles to recover her ult fast enough. Compared to Pela who basically has a smooth 2 turn rotation. A better matchup would be against those elite + boss wave 2s where the boss does not have 2 phases.
Unfortunately I think not. I gave up way too much ST damage to survive wave 1. SW + Pela easily beats Argenti without SW's LC, but I couldn't get it to work for wave 1.
