I’m look for a new 10gb switch. This could fit the bill. Thank you for showing this off. I’m thinking of putting an Omada system together. Great addition to there line up. 👍
Got mine yesterday, I‘m not happy with it. Have some Unify U6E AP connected, I’m getting only 87 mbit through it, if connected to the TL-SX3206HPP. When I use them with a PoE adapter, it turns normal with the same Uplink. The 87 mbit are like a wall and consistent with the APs.Will send them back, if I can‘t find a solution as this was my only reason to buy them. Was looking for the TL-SG3210XHP-M2 version 2.6 but couldn‘t find one, so I was happy, that this one was available.
@@SPXLabs You were right with your assumption, my router didn’t like the switch, did recognize the right speed only if I have rebooted the router. Didn’t have any issue with other devices. But I’m still not happy with the noise, if you use PoE it starts getting loud, no matter how much you use (12W). Sure I can replace the fans also with that one, but why isn’t it at least partly temperature controlled.
Thanks for sharing this info. I've been waiting for this switch to be released for some time now as it has been "Coming Soon" for months. My guess is that it'll be retailing for $549.
@@SPXLabs Definitely a big ask but I know people that have invested in an Omada setup will still buy them (including myself). It also looks like B&H just listed it for pre-order for $550... What a coincidence!
Yeah i would have bought it too especially for my work flow. lol Interesting. I don’t remember seeing it listed anywhere at the time of filming. But I also didn’t look at B&H
I don't think anyone would buy this unless they needed PoE. When you're testing the thing and the fan noise, it should follow that you actually test the PoE profiles it supports and give it some significant wattages like high-speed Wifi APs or something. I'm sure it makes a ton of noise if you actually use it for what it's designed for, like Wi-fi 7 APs
3:22 - I knew I wasn't crazy! I tried telling my coworkers/friends that there's definitely a smell to new electronics and they look at me like I'm crazy! Or at least, I'm not crazy because now I know I'm not the only one who can smell it. I might be crazy for other reasons lol
Man I wish I could edit the video and edit that part out just to gas light you right now. lol damn. But yeah almost all brand new electronics have that smell. Almost
Well, it will do it. I played around with it in standalone mode and well, it works. The WebUI is clunky though. The Omada team needs to help out the standalone team
@@SPXLabs Thanks for the reply, Im looking at the XS1930-10 as well for less than 500 USD, is not the POE version as that one is very expensive (XS1930-12HP), will be nice to see how the TPLink works as stand alone.
I'd love to see a review of TP-link TL-R5408PE-AC which is apparently a China-only router with 4 2.5G and 4 FE ports, POE af\at, 110w total budget, up to 30w per port, looks like a built-in omada controller (not sure, they just say "controller" and curiously do not mention Omada at all), fanless, and about 200 USD price. Wonder if it is really workable (people say you can use the Chinese-only interface via a translator like google translate), if there are any other pitfalls, cause it's really hard to find both 2.5G and POE in one box, with a decent power budget, and here it seems it's also a router\controller (whether it is omada-compatible is an open question though). And at that price... it could be a perfect home device, with a router, enough ports to power a few 6\6E APs, and if it has a conteroller, here's another 100$ saved as well.
Any other Switch options if you want 8x 10GBE RJ45 (at least 4x POE) + 3-4 10GBE SFP+? The TL-SG3210XHP-M2 has „only“ 2.5G and misses one SFP+… 😂 The Mikrotik CRS312-4C+8XG-RM does not have POE (would need expensive injectors)… Netgear MS510TXUP-100 also misses one SFP+… Any other options for less than 1k$?
Best option I see right now: TL-SX3206HPP for 4x POE APs/Cameras TL-SX3008F with 3x SFP+ to RJ45 Transceiver (1GBE sufficient) - Server, Workstation, Inter-Switch connected with DAC cables Total: approx 800$
@@SPXLabs they could have just called it eg the "model 320" - I will look up the details anyways if I think about buying it (power, price, ports, size) but even for that it's better to have a short #
Interesting, paving the way to their upcoming EAP690E? If I am not mistaken those would be their WIFI6E with a 10G port. Really cool of you to have opened the unit. Really good build quality. The only problem I can see with this unit is the noise. Those two fans are good quality but they are usually loud. I say a problem, I mean it can be depending on where you put that unit. I wonder how much this is going to cost. The connectors you called bridges, appear to be power connectors (guessing) as there is a separation between the power supply side and the "IO" side. Just a guess.
I guess I was too quick to comment without seeing the whole video lol. Those fans are actually quieter than I would have thought! But I definitely would not have that sitting on my desk but set this on my network rack.
Man you’re getting all the cool new switches
The guy that doesn’t like networking or really understand it getting all the network gear! lol 🤦♀️
@@SPXLabs Yea...how are ya getting this nice stuff sent to you?
Been Eyeing this in their website.
If it's priced well ($300-400) I will be buying it. But if it's $500, will be waiting for a used one in Ebay.
It’s a great switch thus far. If you have a need for I don’t think you’ll be disappointed
$549 at B & H

Wait, now that’s an idea. Coincidentally it would also be the only cologne I’d buy and probably wear.
@@SPXLabs Crooks on ebay will buy it, too, and spray it on everything old and sell it as "brand new unopened item"
That’s fine with me. Presumably it’s alcohol based so it will evaporate losing its smell fairly quick.
