I paid 1800 for an extended warranty on my 2006 BMW back then. The car had 19,000 miles and the warranty was for 5 years or 100,000 thousand miles. I had valve cover gasket replace, oil filter housing, window actuator, water pump, coils. All replaced by BMW. Totaled paid by my warranty was over 5000 dollars so it was worth it for me when I paid 1800.

Good video Justin. I have my E60 9 years now and over 100k miles. Turbo failure was the only major issue in all that time. Almost 200k on the clock now, and still going strong.
I bought a 2011 BMW 328i. It had 68k miles on it. I also bought the Route 66 waranty with it. I think it was $2600. I wanted the peace of mind that if something big broke I wouldn't be screwed. Well, long story short I need to replace my torque converter because theres a loose screw in there thats banging around and my warranty company told me they "dont cover screws" and would not pay anything. Luckily they offer refunds on unused warranties and I sold that shit instantly. I got $2,000 back so I lost $600 but its worth it. Warranty companies will do whatever they can to not replace something. They don't cover shit. Don't buy it
Me too I had a Route 66 warranty as well on my 135i. I paid $2500 for the warranty and it covered like $5300 in repairs all at the dealer. This video is a bit deceiving.
Another awesome video bro, i had an aftermarket warranty included in the finance of my car when i bought it, Because of the milage at the time and because it was a 1 owner car, they gave the highest plan possible (unlimited Mileage for 2 years) in that i was able to have the crankshaft damper pulley replaced, alternator controller as well as the turbo charger. But that's when things went south, as you mentioned they came up with their whole wear and tear nonsense, which we then disputed and paid out of our own pocket and then the warranty company reimbursed us. Since the warranty expired I've been doing everything myself and its honestly better. The most expensive part that needed replacing was the transmission which failed in April this year, but with knowing the right people we were able to get my car up and running in no time 😁
Back in January 2019 I was under 102 miles under warranty before it expired and my car was acting up. I took it and they found the valve gasket and housing leaking. All of that was replaced except for the spark plugs and coils. Luckily for TH-cam videos I was able to diy myself saving hundreds. On a side note your videos have also been helping me maintain my e92 under good condition.

Got my used 11' E90 from the stealership a year ago with 1 year of "warranty" included (never used it). I started getting calls and mail about the warranty expiring like a week later I started driving it, I almost fell for the scam. However thanks to great people like you have awesome informative videos I've learned a lot. So far, I've replaced one coil, installed and registered a new battery and cleaned the Vanos solenoids and the MAF, car runs like a dream. Screw those warranties, they don't tell you what is NOT covered.

Totally agree with you, no extra waranty for anything the one that comes originally is more than enough. Haven´t visited the channel for some time because I sold my 2010 325i 8 months ago but there is always something to learn in your videos.
I spent quite some money when I bought my 325i and learned a lot watching your videos and when the car was renewed I sold it because I wanted the money for something else, but the guy I sold the car to got in touch with me a month ago and told me it has been his best used car experience he mentioned that the car is in great shape and wanted to know if I had another one I could sell him, so if you give your car the right maintainance it´s going to be a great experience.

I’m glad to hear you say this and I agree with you. I try to do minor maintenance myself. Started with oil, then brakes. Then replaced the side mirrors on my wife’s van. Then this year an air spring went out on my X5 and I thought, “well, let’s check TH-cam and see how hard it is.” Pretty easy, actually. $350 part and my labor. I’m very happy.
Also this summer I found that I had over torqued the oil drain plug last oil change. Local import shop said I’d have to replace the oil pan for $2k. Found another shop who said we could tap the hole 2mm larger and replace the plug. 45 min and $100 later and it’s done.
The point here is that learning about my car, being willing to do some of the work myself and calling around have helped me save thousands of dollars.
I've been following your channel for a minute subscribed as well. I'm looking in to purchasing a 2008 "new" bmw 328xi it's only had 2 owners and my brother in law is an awesome mechanic but just for the sake of "if hes not around to help me fix minor problems" I've been learning a lot I was a little nervous but really it's just like you said do your research and trust your final concluded decision.
Idk how many miles it has but I've been informed that its virtually new and worth $15,000 guessing it's close or a little above 100k plus depreciating price,I'm that type of person that likes to be prepared and your channel has help me mentally prepared of the "possible" hiccups I may encounter.

BMW's are extremely easy to work on if you have the right tools and guidance, and patience. I own my first BMW and I fix just about everything on my own. I even replaced my engine from 2.5 to 3.0 and updated the ecu by myself. With enough research depending on what car you buy you can find almost any problem you can think of in the internet and where to buy the parts cheaper than the dealer, used or brand new. These cars are pretty straight forward to work on. But I can't speak for the newer technology.
The newer BMWs, and all other cars for that matter, are like 50% electronics and 50% car.
Agreed.. I’m a girl even and with no previous experience I fixed all my bmw e90 issues on my own. I wouldn’t call them simple cars to fix.. but I also had the more cramped 6 cylinder engine in my 2010 335xi.. things were cramped so I bought a few sets of extenders but I was seriously thankful for all the info that was readily available on the internet. At 90,000 miles I replaced the struts and springs.. walnut shell blasted the intake, replaced the water pump, removed the airbox to replace it with dual cone air intake, replaced all the cars speakers and the head unit (so that the car could have apple car play) with the help from people on the bmw forums who made special wire harnesses just for that.. the community was fantastic in helping answer questions for me and I even met up with one of them who helped me with the walnut blasting. My only complaint is that they took manual transmissions away from the 3 series lineup. I know this is an industry wide thing but they still develope the transmissions for the European market., why can’t they be specially shipped to us/Canada? It’s just plain sad to see the 2023 not even have a physical gear selector..perhaps we will get used to this.. but us die hard manual transmission fans new vehicles are hard to love. Really excited about the all electric vehicle with the manual transmission though.. however audi has that RS g tron with a manual which is a fully electric car! Porsche also has the taycan.. these cars are well over $100k but toyota is coming out with an all electric Supra with a manual.. I like where this is all going! Hopefully the prices of EVs will become average income friendly!

Great video. Agree with you a hundred percent. Extended warranty past the original manufacturer's warranty is just BS. Like you said they look for any excuse to deny coverage and most deductibles are $250. Crazy. My 2011 BMW 328i has been the most reliable car I've owned. It's all about maintenance. Check and replace what's needed before the catastrophic event. Get an OBDII reader for BMW and diagnose your own check engine light. Call FCP Euro and those guys together with instructions found on TH-cam and on this channel let you fix it yourself at a quarter of the cost of the stealerships. I bought an extended warranty for a 2009 bmw 335xi in 2013 for mid $4k from a company that had been in business since the 1970s.. the year after I got the warranty the company filed for bankruptcy and went out of business. That’s sucked:( I owned that car until 2018 and learned to do maintenance myself.. I replaced shocks and cleaned out the carbon from the cylinders.. it made me LOVE the car even more and found it fun! I didn’t have a lift or anything in my garage so I used jacks.. when I sold that car the person told me he couldn’t believe the mileage as it was in the best shape he had ever seen for a car with just under 100k miles. I’m not a mechanic what so ever.. I’m a chick who was forced to fix a car herself due to expenses. Good I loved that car.. and miss the ability to buy a manual in a non M bmw:(

Most people that talk trash on BMWs haven't owned one or are stuck on the "Made in America" bullshit. All it takes is proper maintenance also FCP euro lifetime warranty on parts even on oil. If you are smart and get an older BMW its probably the best bang for your buck out there. Ill take a few more dollars on maintenance for hands down the best driving experience in the price range. Ill argue it all day haha

I bought a certified preowned e90 330i. After about 1 year i replaced the battery ($300) the disa flaps ($600) and had bearing ledge wear in the head, which was $3500. I was glad it was all covered under warranty. Even though they tried to say the battery was a wear and tear item, except that it went a week after i took delivery.
I’ve always viewed warranties in general as a safety net. Don’t buy an extended warranty if you don’t need it. But I do recommend it if you get a used car that’s sold “as is”
Just bought a 2011 e92 328i with 62k and a super clean carfax. Every 4 months it was taken to BMW. Best part is it’s coming from San Diego ( I live in Northville, MI) it’s never seen a winter! It’s on a truck right now on the way here. I’ll be watching as much of your videos as I can!

I was looking at a used car since this was my first purchase of a vehicle. I made sure to look over the paper work twice. Really glad I did because the salesman put in life insurance and warranty into the price of the car. So I almost paid additional $6000.
Excellent video. My BMWs were reliable and I did lots of diys and quick fixes. My F30 I owned for two years already and most repairs were done by me, except the water pump, that is expensive and you are right , they go out in ever single bmw

I’m currently looking at a 335i 2013 with 60k miles and comes with the M sport package. It’s basically brand new and they’re asking $18.5k. Is that overpriced and should I get the extended warranty for the extra $25 a month?
@@songsoftime6072 go to kellyblue book and look up the value of the car with those exact numbers and then you'll be able to gauge if its overpriced or not. Also be patient, don't show the salesman that you're overly eager

I bought an 03 530i in 06 and it was still under factory warranty. I bought it from a small lot and they did not tell me this but sold me an extended warranty which I never used before I lost the car. Before that I had an Audi A6 with an extended warranty. It was in the shop constantly so the warranty made a big difference. So I could go either way on them.
I'm the second owner of a 2010 BMW 128i with the SULEV powertrain. I bought it with 64K on it for $9690 in 2017. I'm glad I did my research because after a few months I went to start one day and it ran very rough; it was bucking aggressively but slowly it smoothed out over time. I took it to the BMW dealership and they said it was a damaged variable valve timing sensor; $1700 to repair it. I watched videos on doing the repair and I knew it would take me at least a weekend to do the work myself. I did some research online and found info about the 15 year, 150K mile SULEV warranty on my car. Two calls to the dealership and one call to BMW USA later, the parts and labor were covered by the dealership with absolutely no cost to me. I'm at 96K now with only regular service performed, including the water pump replacement at 90K, and I couldn't be happier with my BMW ownership experience. Do your research about the existing warranty on your car and you might be pleasantly surprised like I was!

If you want a car with warranty best option is to find a low miles CPO car instead of putting your own money for a warranty plan use whats already given
Good video I bought a 2015 M4 with 50K miles on it and got a third party after market warranty for $3K. I drove the car for 6 months and realized it had 2 oil leaks (valve cover and oil filter housing) then it needed motor mounts so the total job cost was $11K🥹my warranty covered half so I paid $4500 with / year warranty on the parts
All superb ideas. Especially the DIY one. But, here’s one BIG reason you MUST buy a power train extended warranty for many BMW’s: “N63”. So far my $3,000, 3-Year warranty has paid out $16,000 in engine repairs.

I have a 2011 E90 M3. I went the Doug Demuro route and purchased it from CarMax. I specifically wanted their warranty. I paid 3k on top of the car, but it was totally worth it. At the time, there was a loud knocking coming the engine bay. Luckily it it was just my AC compressor that went out and it wasn't rod knock. Depending on the car, I think the warranty is worth it. Having an M car holds a lot of risk in parts. The biggest risk, which we all know and love, are the rod bearings for the S65. My 13 BRZ does not have a warranty and I do all of the work on that car myself. The research I did showed me that the car did pretty well in the maintenance route. At the end of the day, I agree with Justin. You need to do the research for the car you're interested in and see what your tolerance of risk is for parts breaking.

I agree. On an N52 or cheaper BMW, I guess this video offers sound advice. On my N54, it paid off 3x for nearly $9000 in 18 months. On my S65, I'm a fourth of the way through, and it's a fourth of the way paid off. I guess like a hybrid car, some people just like to have a bigger cost upfront and pass the savings on over the years.
Plus, a local dealership was telling me that they had an S65 with a Carmax warranty get a full reman engine from Germany. $25,000. I am very glad to have my Carmax warranty and am holding off on the RBs till 120k when this warranty is up, just hoping that I get a new engine out of the deal.
In my opinion purchasing an extended warranty comes down to preference. I feel like it has its advantages and disadvantages. Some people go years without having any issues on their vehicle but at the end of the day it also depends on how the owner of the vehicle takes care of their vehicle. I upgraded my E90 nine months ago and purchased a F30 335i. At the time of the purchase my vehicle had 24K miles and by the time I hit 31k my rear main seal began to leak oil. Luckily my vehicle was still under warranty and BMW took care of it and i was given a loaner which is always a plus when having warranty on your vehicle. Long story short like I said it boils down to preference. I feel like it’s a piece of mind type of thing. If your the type of person who doesn’t like to service their vehicle and don’t plan on modifying their vehicle then I would say extend the warranty.
If you purchase a used BMW that still has the 4year/80,000km left, I highly recommend getting the BMW extended warranty. I got the 8yr/180,000 KM one. I spent $5,000 dollars on it. It saved me aprox. $15,000. I racked up aprox. $20,000 worth of repairs. I think it was a great value. Every time I took my BMW in for repairs, I got a brand new free BMW loaner car as well. Never car less. That warranty covers any kind of gasket that fails. No question asked why things failed and was repaired right away. Things that failed were not big ticket items, fuel injectors, rear hatch springs and soft close lock, engine mounts, pipes on motor, oil pan leak and more.

Thinking about getting a CPO X1 or 3 series, but on my current Civic the extended warranty covered the $1200 AC bill.

I bought mine after watching your first viral video. It’s been 2 years and I can’t say they are expensive but maybe picky. Most of the parts are online, but the bad part about them is that when you say you own one people freak out, at least in my case. It’s a good car if you buy it from a trusted source but stay away from “ to good to be true” and desperate owners.

Depends how you drive. If you have a lead foot, then buy a warranty. If you drive like my grandmother, then maybe not needed. I owned a Carmax 335i and the Engine blew at only 60,000 miles. Normally the car would be a total loss, but the MaxCare warranty replaced the engine on their $. I saved tens of thousands! So in my case. Worth every penny
Bought a 2010 328i m sport through CarMax and bought their Maxcare warranty. Just paid a $300 deductible for about $7000.00 worth of warrantied work. Of course it was at the dealership so the cost at a private shop that does German Auto is probably less. It’s at about 80,000 miles right now. The good news about Maxcare is that you can use it at any shop of your choice.

John Frutos like fr I have a 1997 bmw z3 with 170,000 miles and literally the only thing that was wrong with it was the thermostat but that stayed open so it never overheated😂 so I finally decided to fix it myself and it was just really simple and easy. Plus also the m52 engine is probably the most realizable engine
Did you buy it new? BMW's depreciates like a rock after two years, so buying a 5 year old BMW is really affordable.

1997 z3 is before the chris bangle era, you cannot compare pre chris bangle I-Drive induced BMWs to today. Not comparable at all.
I have owned my 2010, 328 Xi for the last more than nine years (bought brand new). I haven't spent money on anything other than tires, brakes/rotors, regular servicing, spark plugs and ignition coils. Two things have gone bad in the last couple of weeks - headlight washer pump and heat shield covering the exhaust. I still don't think these expenses would make BMW a bad choice. Also, I am on my third BMW in the last15 years. It been a good fun car to drive. Cheers!

i got an extended warrarnty on my bmw 428i 2015 SULEV in california. it was also supposed to include an extended maintenance that would cover oil changes. when i went to the BMW dealer, they told me "you dont need an oil change" even though it had been over 1 year, they told me i needed to wait 11 more months.
i would never get an extended warranty again. i also found out that the dealer defrauded me in another way. in fact the SULEV warranty in California makes it worth it by itsef, just dont pay anything extra! these a-hole dealers will sell you the "certified" car for 5-10k less than whatever they put on the sticker.

Really glad you’re bringing this up. The stigma really is everywhere about BMW’s, even my friends think the same way. I always explain that yes, parts and labor are more expensive than something like a Toyota, but really I think a lot of people don’t take care of their cars properly and then complain online when things go wrong for them. I have a 2011 X3 with the N52 engine at 68,000. I try and do as much work as I can by myself because it’s fun to learn about the car that way, and it gives you more of a peace of mind about it’s condition. Obviously, working with indy shops that specialize in BMW’s can help the cost of maintenance too.

@@toyotahachiroku8509 most of the super-reliable Toyotas which never had anything done to them are actually in absolutely beat up shape. They never had anything done to them because the owners couldn't understand or care that something was broken. Example - 07 camry, had a horrible vibration due to broken engine mounts, the owner just thought these vibrations were normal. Example 2: 2017 rav4, got leaking water pump at 40kmiles, owner wasn't buying in into "invincible Toyota" folklore so he had it replaced. But yeah, otherwise it would be just another Toyota which never had to have anything done to it
Your car only has 68K, almost all cars would have no issues at such low mileage.
@@WaywardAnalysis I guess we shouldn’t be addressing reliability past 100k. That’s like, a given? We all know European cars past 100k are a gamble. The wear and tear starts to set in with gaskets and what not. And some will be just fine for a while after that. I believe the stigma for BMW’s exists even when bought brand new. So 68k is a hearty mileage to comment about, imo. I agree with you a well maintained car at 68k, nothing really to go wrong unless it was well neglected or had a bad design flaw. But the point is, most of the public doesn’t think about anything I just said. They see “BMW” and their brain blows up lol.

I went a BMW dealership for a 430i 2018 Price online was $29k, when everything added up it was $35k for the warranty for 2 years only, and also the car is certified by the dealer. But it blowed my mind 📢🙄that from $29k to $35k for the warranty and certification... I walked away from the deal. After those two years, I need to buy another extended warranty for &$3500. But then I thought, if go I with it, AND if I don't use it? The money won't come back to me. Expensive indeed. I put some money in the piggy bank for "IF IT BREAKS" in the near future, and go through the process then. Thank you again 👍nice video. And great information.

I have a 2007 335xi which is now (Dinan) tuned stage 3. I swear by car max extended warranty. I believe I paid 3k it has replaced oil pan gasket, water pump, transfer case (that was a 4K repair) coils, and just recently a module that was fried in my headlight. That’s what I can remember off the top of my head. It will cover my turbos, engine and transmission all of which are worth the 3k alone. Dinan tuning is more expensive but will not void the warranty, I thoroughly researched that. My aftermarket Hella headlight housings were not covered.
Anytime my car is on the lift I have the mechanic look specifically for parts that look worn and any oil seeping.
If you’re going to buy the warranty you have to work it like a part time job. My goal is to have as many new parts on this car as I can before it expires in Jan 2020. This car was a one owner car when I bought it, in great shape. But N54’s are as great to drive as they are dicey with regard to reliability. Look how many videos pop up saying they are unreliable!
With no warranty I’d need a fund of about 3k on hand, minimum.

I bought my warranty for about $2400 on top of the 7000 car and with it being at 89k miles I was super sure I wanted the warranty because that’s the mileage where a lot of stuff starts to fail. I definitely don’t regret my warranty. Good warranty + good insurance = no worries. I pay $310 a month for literally everything and without a worry

In my experience with owning a bmw and having a lot of friends that own them I’ve noticed that people either have very little issues, like yourself, or they have an absolute TON of issues. And it’s not because the car wasn’t taken care of either currently or previously. I personally would have benefitted from buying the extended warranty. Even so, I do think the issue is sometimes overblown

I've got a 2018 330i leased for 3yrs. I got the wheel and tire warranty. Within 2 weeks of having the car I blew a run-flat tire and everything was covered. It's already paid itself off. We had HORRIBLE potholes here this last winter and I pretty much saw that happening.
Fcpeuro and your local mechanic are your best friends. Saving thousands of dollars while having my 335i running at full potential without any issues
I agree and also I would not but the tire protection warranty. The last time when they offered me the warranty on tires, it was like $2000. That was enough money to but two sets of tires. Just save that cash for the repairs.
If you want a bmw but have to designate 1k to repairs you shouldn't buy a luxury car. But always keep 8 months expenses in an account no matter your financial status
Last year I bought a used 2012 BMW for a quarter of the valued from the original brand new sticker price. With the 1st owner leasing the vehicle, I happened to be the 4th owner. I bought a 24month warranty just in case I missed any hidden faults the vehicle might have had. After driving the vehicle about 300 miles back to my home town my whole water pump system needed to be replaced. To make a long story short after being persistent in a stern demeanor the work was honored under the extended warranty agreement.. The next vehicle I buy I will not be purchasing a extended warranty. I would rather just tuck away some money for a emergency repair. Thanks Justin.
I actually work at a BMW dealership and I can tell you that we have a LOT of customers who are very grateful for having the "extended warranty" for their vehicles. I, too, purchase them for my vehicles and I am a huge believer in them. The reality with self insuring is that you really need to keep that "emergency fund" always available. Forget about using it for a big screen or vacation. A vehicle service agreement is basically making sure you have coverage in the event of a repair and you have pre-budgeted for it by purchasing the VSA. Most people are not capable of repairing their own vehicle or don't have the time. All blanket statements such as "extended warranties are always bad" or "everyone needs a warranty" are not universal. Everybody's situation is different. Make the right choice for you.
Ken Hoffman ....agreed w/ your statement. The bottom line...extended warranty purchase may not apply to each and every customer, and depends individual situation. When I took delivery of my brand new 5 series M Sport (G30), I’ve told the business manager that don’t worry about selling/explaining the extended warranty as my vehicle won’t be a daily driver and take really good care of my car. I understand if this is my ONLY vehicle, maybe might looking into it. BTW, since took delivery of my vehicle since early part of this year, I have only driven around 400 miles so far.
I have a2015 335i msport bought the extended warranty and rim and tire Warrenty they both have save me I have done mods to my car full bolts on they still cover my Warrenty with the jb4 Bmw put on and free rim repairs and 50 a tire for any tip of flat so for me (me personally)it work hate runflates but 50 a tire I can live with
I bought a 2013 135i with 11 months extended warranty. 24k miles i bought it with. The warranty replaced spark plugs, coils, worn buttons on the interior, AC condenser, coif, harmonic balancer blue (money shift), fluids, a few others and peace of mind.
The warranty covered over 7k in work.... In the first 11 months of ownership.
But i will say these cars are damn reliable if they're taken care of just like any other car.
I've never paid for warrenty and never paid a garage to do anything apart from tyres and wheel allignment

Got an extended warranty from CarMax for a Manual Transmission 2009 Toyota Corolla S for $2059.00. Over the course of five years they rebuilt the gearbox, replaced the alternator, replaced all the suspension bushings as well as the wheel bearings and replaced the fan blower motor. All parts and labor summed up to about $11,000. While the car was in repair they provided a rental, sometimes for weeks on end. So all in all I think it was worth it.
My 2017 x3 xdrive35i has 46k ,still on factory warranty, last month the parking assistance plus went bad on the left side,it got fixed by bmw ,should I by extended warranty for 3 more year? Also there are third party like endurance and carchex ,please any advice?
I bought a 3 month warranty when i had my 06 330xi, it was useless especially since nothing happened to my car at all. But i have 2 friends who are mechanics that work on bimmers so i don't even need a warranty lol.
Yes I agree, warranty is a waste of money on a used BMW.I made the mistake of purchasing warranty and when I inquired about an issue, it is not included in the warranty or "Sorry that's not covered", excuses excuses , etcetera .. Your advice on non turbo, manual is correct except in my opinion I would pay the extra and buy around 50000. miles. Do your research and buy it right, Make sure you change your engine oil regularly on a BMW because the engine variable timing depends on it. Ensure you replace the variable timing solenoids and watch Justin's videos. Knowledge on this vehicle will save you a bundle of your hard earned cash.

I paid $3k for a warranty on my 2008 535i in 2014, car had 74k miles on it. Warranty repairs to date exceed $10k, best thing I ever did. My local BMW dealership repaired everything that went wrong, no questions asked. Car has 108k miles now and runs great.
Hey man, I just purchased a 2016 bmw 435 x drive, CPO and I opted to get the bmw extended warranty. It costs me $5000 after tax CAD, I have 30 days to cancel it. This is my first big purchase but I still feel like it’s not worth it and I’m thinking of cancelling it. What should I do?
I actually got pretty lucky. I got warranty on my 2006 325i (bought in 2012) w/ 77k miles and spent about $1,600.00 the first year on repairs (thernostat, brake pads, etc.) but I got a new transmission out of it.
All maintenance after warranty was over kind of blew because I would have someone like Goodyear do the work at half cost of bmw, but still a chunk of money. I think we have put in at least $5k-$7k into this car for the last 7 years. Now that I do maintenance on my own, makes it so affordable to own a BMW in the 3 series range.
The 2013 5 series has been way more reliable. Bought it 2 years old with around 34k miles and has only had brake pads ($800 at private shop for front brake pads, as maintenance warranty ran out - $2,600.00 approx for the maint warranty, leaking radiator ($500 I think at BMW), steering issue went to private shop to replaced due to shaking in steering wheel and warped rotors in the front.) I know it seems like a lot of issues but less than the 3 series.
I hope you are there for whoever is stuck with a huge bill from the mechanic shop and they are not covered by warranty

I’ve had about 7k in repairs over 6 years. I did buy extended warranty and it paid off.the car had 35k miles when i got it. I am considering buying another warranty for about 200/month and it cover up $15k in repairs. My Car has 120k miles 2008 338xi. Automatic. Transfer case is acting up a little.
I got a rod knock in my 2013 n63 engine. I bought extended warranty for $3400 engine was about $8,500 excluding labor.

I had a new 2015 civic si end it had a bad VTC actuator (what makes v tech possible ) it wound grind when it was cold and they told me it was normal
I think you need to take into consideration that the 3 series bmws are the most reliable out of all bmws my first car was 2002 325ci being my first car I beat the crap out of it but still maintained and it lasted me from 2015-2019 I totaled it unfortunately in the snow now I’ve recently purchased a 550xi cleaner carfax and all reports and it turned into a money pit but god I still love it
