    I purchased two 4 hour batteries and a wall charger. Since I am home, I walk out with another battery in 3 1/2 hours and switch them. Now I have 7 hours + of cutting. Also makes me pick up some sticks along the way.
    I just painted my droid shiny gold. Waiting for my metal spike wheels in silver to add to the side of the wheels. These Landroids are crazy good. Glad you like yours also.

      Whatever works for you 😊 My desire wrt Landroid has always been to stay 'automated'.

      hello sir, if you change the batery, you must set up a date and hours etc? or it will be saved ?

    • @michaeldisalvo
      @michaeldisalvo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jenik1337 I never payed attention to the time and date, so I don’t know if it is saved. I do know if you create zones and remove the battery, everything is erased. So pulling the battery will probably erase your settings. But I don’t use zones or any particular setting.

      Great. Didn't know a Landroid Worx 8 ah battery was (Mar 2022) available. I see the USA Amazon best price for a 5 ah Worx equivalent battery (Elefly) = $33. Since my original 4 ah battery gave 2.5 hrs of operating time, having 3 x 8 ah would *theoretically* give 15 hrs of mowing time before recharge.

    I'm biding my time until the warranty is up on mine but I'll certainly be making some modifications at that point including battery size increase along with ground clearance increase capability and I'll experiment with wheel options to try and reduce wheel spin and digging tracks

    Great video! Do you know if there are any restrictions (software or otherwise) that would prevent the robot from exceeding its rated acreage? For example, I see no difference between the WR155 and the WR140 except for a larger battery. I would rather save the money on the higher model and try your solution.

      I believe that an "L" model has a larger width cut than the "M" model and that makes it more efficient at cutting larger areas. My primary purpose in increasing mow time by increasing battery capacity was to not have the unit return home for recharging during a four, five, or six hour continuous mowing operation.
      But to answer question, nothing I know of stops unit from cutting anywhere within the maximum length boundary, allowed. The max length of boundary wire is limited to whatever the max area the "L" unit accommodates. So in that sense my 3 battery unit could be used to mow more area..but a cutting width increase is more efficient at larger areas than merely increasing mow time. This is due to the Landroid's 'random motion' method of moving/cutting.

    Nice work.I have a old wg794 that I swapped the 18650 battery cells out for lg 3500 mah.Does a half acre no problem.
    Question for you do you ever have a problem with just having the one front wheel on your wr140?

    • @jimkadel3003
      @jimkadel3003  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that I know of...altho, there have been a couple of times when I've gotten the error msg: 'Landroid Lifted' and found it shut down in a lawn rut. Perhaps that could be blamed on the single front wheel - but would require more investigation to know.

    How long does it take to charge on the base station?
    Does the mower see the time increase after installing the extra battery

    • @jimkadel3003
      @jimkadel3003  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      *How long to re-charge?* somewhere between 2.5 to 3.0 hours (that's with my configurations of 3 batteries: 2 - 5amp-hr batts + the original 4 amp-hr batt - i.e. 14 amp-hr capacity).
      I don't really care about re-charge time since it occurs after a full day's mowing - during night hours. And the unit is always ready to go up to another 7.5 hrs the next AM.
      *After installation of extra battery/s?* Yes, it's the extra batteries that cause the unit to operate longer.

      Depending which model you buy (e.g. L500 vs L1000) you get slow or fast charger. Our L1000 with 4 ah is out mowing 4-5 times a day. Probably mowing longer than charging.

    Do you have any temperature issues with the batteries being under the plastic sheet? I think I have the same Lasica batteries and they have some holes on the bottom front (I was thinking maybe for ventilation). Or do you live in a cooler area?

    • @jimkadel3003
      @jimkadel3003  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is my 2nd season using these xtra batteries with no apparent temperature problem during mowing. My WR140 Landroid rests under a "Landroid Garage" which also is mainly in the shade during the hottest part of the day. So while re-charging, there's been no hint of 'overheating', either.

    I assume extending the battery life will also mean the mower can cut a far larger yard?

    • @jimkadel3003
      @jimkadel3003  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A little larger area could be cut during the week because of the more efficient use of the available time to cut. [To me, best cutting time (in Summer) is from 12 noon until 12 midnite,
      because in the morning hours, the grass is usually wet from dew] Anyway, the *best way* to increase mowing area is by to increase the width of the cut.

      @@jimkadel3003 Thanks for the feedback. I have a yard of apporx. 1400 sqm and due to budget constraints, I was thinking I could get the m700 and doubling up on the battery. Instead of opt for the larger width size.

    I just want to point out this part of their warranty statement "The tool has not been misused, abused, neglected, altered, modified or repaired by anyone other than an authorized service center." which means his warranty is no longer good. Not to mention that he is messing with the internal parts of a lithium battery and altering it which is not safe at all. I would really not recommend anyone doing this.

    • @Snowmirage6453
      @Snowmirage6453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its in the best interest of every company to void any warranty they can in anyway then can to cut their costs. That doesn't mean they should. If I put a pair of googly eye stickers on the front of my landroid because I think its funny according to "the lawyers" that write lines such as what you quoted I've voided my warranty. Hopefully the company treats their customers better than that, and would only void the warranty when its really be misused. Yes lithium batteries can be dangerous, so can gasoline but we pump that in our cars and lawn mowers everyday. You just have to be smart about what you are doing and learn how to do it safely.
