It doesn't matter how many times I listen to this song, it always impacts me. Sooo much truth packed into the lyrics. We need to break the cycle which has done so much harm to so many.
I am going to recommend the Love Music series next!! You need some happy Ren. Love Music 4 is dirty (and hilarious) , but 1-3 are very family friendly! Not gonna lie, I had never listened to this one, and MAN IT HIT HARD. I even brought Smoke over to hear the part about him being bullied for the shape of his face, since Cayden gets bullied for his red hair. It's disgusting how much our world focus' on value of looks/money/fame. PLEASE do another happy Ren song, you know how hard it is for me to see you cry!
Thank you for reacting to this video! It's one of those songs that is absolutely incredible, but is often missed. Such an important message to hear and pass down to our kids. Not only so they feel secure in themselves, but also so that they can spread the message to their friends to support each other and not judge them based on their looks.
It’s a bit of a catchy heard it all before song and then he drops the Ariah verse and it makes me so glad I had boys. The struggle to bring up girls these days must be so hard. Respect to all you mums and dads of girls ❤

I hate trite sayings but the one about Beauty being skin deep is so true. Its in people's hearts and souls that true beauty lies.

The fact that Ren could create something like this at the height of his illness is astounding. Freckled Angels was released before he was finally diagnosed with Lyme. I love a lot of songs off this album. But I feel like this song is where he elevated to become the artist we know and love today. Hugs to you.
For some reason after having a child I was freed from vanity and it has been the most amazing thing that ever happened to me other than my actual child. 😅. To just allow my hair to get gray, to allow my body to become maternal, to allow myself to age. His need and his love finally superseded all external demands on my sense of self worth.

This is the second song that Ren has written that I resonated with. It's very difficult to admit when we feel like we're incomplete or broken.
