i think i did it in 6 months, playing like 4 hours every work day and the whole weekends. i have been playing gtnh basically since its release and gregtech/ic2 since 1.2.5, so i have quite some experience in it.

First off, congratulations on the gates! It's been wild watching both these edited episodes as well as the bits of streams that I've had time to catch. That said, I have a question - for a player who looks at the processes to make things like waterline, the godforge, etc. automate correctly and thinks "oh god, that sounds like pain", is there recommendations? Maybe I'm just not sufficiently greg-pilled (indeed, my best attempt in GTNH was around the middle of HV), but I look at things like those and recoil in horror. :P
i am kinda of like you and i know the feel/pain. i think the best tip i can give you regarding that is that you shouldn't worry until you have to do those things. thinking about ZPM+ stuff in HV is pointless. if you do things step by step, they won't look that horrible. also, i think solving those challenges is the whole fun and point of GTNH, if it's not the kind of stuff you like, maybe, you could look into different pack/games (btw, i'm probably not the best person to take as a reference regarding that kidn of subjective matter).

Congrats on completing the pact. But I have to say, some of the final grind just seems stupid. Just a mornonic time waste without any real challenge or point. Spam machines until you can't anymore, then just wait.
not too much, it's just not shown. you still have to properly manage the balance of everything and fix stuff here and there. also, it's minecraft, i'd say building lots of huge things fits with the game. probably i could still have done something to shorten the timings, also, if i leave the game AKF for a whole night and then find out it did nothing because something broke at the start, that's like 9 hours of AFK where nothing much really got done, so i don't know how those should be counted.
