- Rocket League adds new ways to see what rank you deserve every couple months. They've created training packs for every rank in the game that are supposed to show you what mechanics you should be able to do. So of course, I made a Rocket League challenge out of it with money on the line!

the gold pack has some shots which are fairly difficult for even champs. I dont think its a balanced skill test but it is a good outline of what you should practice in each rank

I tried the training with the same timelimits and didn't get further than plat im c2😬. Its suprisingly hard, or im just bad, can't imagen how much harder it would be if you were in a video with all the pressure. Nice vid

number 11 in champ was the hardest pop to do even some of the gc shots were way easier
i didnt feel like it was too hard i actually did it first try and im diamond 2. might have been a little lucky but i feel like i can get that shot pretty consistently

Just started the video, but, as a UX Researcher and Cognitive Scientist I would like to make a point (as a prediction) before I start:
Training packs are tools to improve - if a training pack is for Champs, regularly doing the pack should help you improve in your own rank bracket.
If you are improving in your own rank bracket it can be because:
- You are more consistent at the things you OUGHT to be able to do
- You are capable, but less consistent, at the things the NEXT bracket ought to be able to do
Another point, Training Packs CANNOT teach game sense. Which, as we all are aware by now, is the most important factor for ranking up into GC. And, we have not defined what game mode the rank should be for? 1s, 2s and 3s all require different core mechanics and game sense (with significant overlap, granted) and an individual who can complete an SSL training pack in, say, 20 minutes, does not necessarily deserve even GC in 1s.
Therefore, we can say on the face, that Training Packs are not representative of a rank that you deserve

i have my self as a evidence against ur Theory i call it like that bc i have no plan to name it other LOL
so i was starting in Rocket Leauge Ranked and was verry fast Gold 2 Leauge 3 so it was Clear shortly i had to reach Platin
but there we came with a lot of TROUBLE u not prepared for even if u want to be prepared for it u wouldnt be here just the biggest points:
-Smurfs
-Random mates (Own Goaling, Trolling and more)
-Technical knowledge
-Options
these 4 things are the hardpoints of ranking up or becoming stuck
the Training packs of Psyonics do two things train in a highly manner:
-Technical Knowledge
-Options
that means of the 4 Hardpoints of this game and yea even in 1v1 2v2 3v3 u will get these points are
Actually getting trained in these packs its a bit hidden and u wont notice it until u stuck for ur self and have no one that helps u
like u rlly are need to find a way for ur own then these packs are a hell of a good Teacher and here goes my story upwards
i trained with the Gold pack which kinda was esay under the point i firstly said just score the goal dont let it touch the ground
that improved me so much i jumped after 2 weeks of training Straight up to Platin 2 leauge 2 in this time i had a Light coming up and trained more with this packs and it Comes a not to much thought given 2 Points more they Train in this packs
-resistance against failing
- Positioning
so these packs as u already can see bring every player a bit some more some less skills technique and resistance which are Important
for Ranking up and dont giving up im btw actually after playing every month just for fun the Goalkeeper SSL pack a diamond 1 Leauge 2 and can hold it up
for longer then 2 months without even playing in the mean time so its a bit of a failure to say these are not shown of what rank u deserve they do it just in a not to open way
its more like they Teach u slowly out of ur actual rank and at the end of every Rank pack they put smt in from the rank After ur actuall rank like a littel Preparation that u not fail ^^

Quite surprising, because I (d1) did every pack 100%. I will admit I did just catch and dribble some of the shots in gc/ssl

I’m a diamond I did every training pack with ease all the way up to ssl and even the progression pack.. but the hardest pack was the platinum one I don’t understand it😭

@@johnstr23 How about you try doing these with a two minute timer, 1 attempt, money on the line, and knowing that hundreds of thousands of people will see it. Even harder is being diamond 2, which play like plats, and mainly playing with gamesense and positioning instead of pure mechs. These are just for entertainment, not a judgement of others’ overall skill. He’s diamond for a reason.
That champ should have been demoted back to gold for that.
