Possibly for the use cases of spotting creatures in canopy’s and sticks, you could train a mega detector-like model to sense the creature using IR/Thermal images and then have a normal camera assist after cropping to confirm and decide the species? It will be harder for snakes since they are cold blooded but there are special thermal techniques to view snakes too.
