The reason the clear ice maker takes longer to work is because clear ice forms when the water is frozen really slowly, where as the foggy ice forms a lot faster because it traps air and bubbles inside of it instead of freezing slowly and letting all the buddles and air escape the freezing procwss.

a very clear reason to why the cloudy ice melted faster is that its hollow which means more surface in contact with the coca cola and the air, it melts from bothe the inside and outside unlike the clear ice that was cubes

Your temperature changing in the cloudy ice, is that way because of the white coloration of the ice. Using an infrared thermometer you have to take into account the emissivity. The emissivity is the effectiveness in emitting energy as thermal radiation. Which is how an IR thermometer works.

The benefits of cloudy ice besides being foamy when you put cokes on it but it makes your drinks cool faster vs a clear ice :D
We have that ice maker. It's pretty good. Just make sure you keep the water filled.
You could make HUGE and CLEAR ice cubes with a single cooler box with water in the fridge for 24 hrs without the lid on. I tried it once, from then I keep using them, they are so beautiful and long-lasting. (btw you can make some scratches in the big ice cube and hit it some times, to get the desired size ice cubes)

The reason why the cloudy ice gives an irregular reading with your temp laser reader is because you’re taking readings right off the ice cubes sticking above the surface of the coke. They are more buoyant. The clear ones are right at or under the surface.. more dense
