Did not expect this kind of turn around. This got me excited for what is to come. The opening and ending visuals for cour 2 is so much better and night and day from cour 1. I agree it seems like they chose to prioritize cour 2.
Yeah, cour 1 was always going to be a bit of a slump with it mostly being set up for later pay offs. I can understand a studio wanting to prioritize the budget for for the Workshop Battle.
These story started at 2010 and now it's 2024. I have been reading these story and these story is my life. This story is very big and diverse like right now we are in 600++ chapter rn.
Bandai Namco Filmworks is helping cour 2. They had a hand on the production of the gundam series, and when bluelock had good animation (I think?). Hopefully it means the action animation is better than we think it is.

I do really enjoy the arc (personally count it as 2 arcs) of the first cour in the manhwa, I won't deny that most of it is setup for the Workshop Battle and build-up, which is something tog does a few times with having whole buildup arcs for later events. Season 3 (should it ever happen) will probably have a similar structure based on what it'd probably cover, with the first cour being mostly buildup and that one big arc in the second cour. I hope Workshop Battle is done well, dunno how likely it is
When I saw the first scenes I was shocked by the animation of shinsu, a big improvement w.r.t. the last episodes. And midway through I was surprised: I was not only watching it to support SIU, instead I was actually enjoying it!! Now, we've just started with a preliminary game. And then, the workshop battle is .... well, mostly action with little chill time. So, I really hope they won't screw up. We've come too far, to give up who we are, so let's raise the bar and our cups to the stars.
This episode was so much better than the rest of season 2. Like if this would be the new baseline for season 2 I would be happy. Also really loved to see more screen time of the season 1 cast. Funny coincidence how the episode where the old cast got more screen time than the new cast is one of the best episode of season 2 so far lol. But seriously I love seeing Endorshi again and the scenes she was in. Especially the one with the journalist who was trying to get photos of her underwear and one of the guys said that they wanted to see those photos. Then Bam is missing as he went to help a traveler who is looking for the girl who is the chatbot he feels in love with. That FUG leader was not happy that Bam did not leave and just said if he does not return he would just kill everyone. Also that gun game was pretty interesting and much better game idea than any challenge we have gotten so far in this season. I mean I love it so much that Khun was basically about to shoot Wangnan as the timer went down. Just so that his scream would attract nearby people
This episode definetly showed overall improvements with the animation direction, still not as good as episode 13. But hopefully the workshop battle is done well since its pretty battle heavy since battle animation was the biggest issue with cour 1
I want Demon slayer level of anime for Tower of god. Like the fights in Tower of god High Ranker vs High Ranker supposed to give same vibe as Hashira vs Upper moon
I haven't watched the full episode yet, but i did watch the opening and first 5 minutes or so. When i was watching the opening, I honestly thought they had changed studios.
Did the two cours have separate productions or something. Not only is there a quality jump, I've never seen two cours back to back listed separately on my anime list
They likely spent more time animation the more important arcs. 18 months to do 26 episodes is going to leave the most neglected episodes looking like dog shit
As a manhwa reader, I liked opening 1 very much. The music was good and they put a lot of references to the chapters covered by the first cour into this opening. The ending was somewhat flat, but i still liked it, because I could try to guess which new panels will be shown for each episode. I like the second opening less, because while it is nice, it is not as packed as the first. I find the second ending is better than the first.
That's why telling you don't drop tower of god season 2 because of mid animation outside of that adaption wise better than s1 because this time they cut small scene / dialogue or shorter than last one . This s2 will be great if cour 1 have decent animation .

@@AHBrandonReviews season 1 heavily rewrote scenes, you didn't notice it because it was so consistently rewritten in ways which contradict the manwha/character arcs and personalities.
Team Sweet and Sour fans were eating well last week at least. One thing I love about the opening for this is that they tease events for what's to come for those that have read the source material, but they don't spoil (most) events. So many Anime openers in other shonens (My Hero being a big one) will just have shots showing whose going to fight who, or even reveal power ups ahead of time. I do think I liked the song from the first cour opening more. But other than that, really excited. One of my favorite moments from ToG is coming up (probably in a few episodes), and by god I want it to be done well.
Oh also while the gun game (One Shot One Opportunity) is one of my favourite games in the whole series I do think the Untrustworthy Room game in cour 1 suffered from being poorly explained in the anime, it's pretty good. I'm behind in the anime but from what I've heard they did a good job breaking down the rules of the game this time.
I know that people will argue that anime watchers would lose interest if they didn't cut a lot of the previous arc, and that getting to the Workshop Battle as quickly as possible was for the best, and while I do partially agree, I've found that one of the biggest complaints about this season is that people don't feel a connection to the new characters. And of course people aren't invested in them when almost all of the early work that established them was characters and as a team was cut out.

I’m glad I kept watching it. This was one of the shows I’ve been looking forward to the most, and not many people were happy with the production. Cour 2 might likely turn that around, and I’m here for the ride! It’s good to see the old cast characters appear again.

I was just as hyped as you when i saw the first few episodes of cour 2, but the ran vs anaak fight was just a slideshow again. Honestly one of the most hyped fights of the entire workshop battle. I haven‘t lost all hope yet but it is not looking good at all sadly, and i doubt that we‘ll ever get hell train at this point.
workshop battle is the chunin exam for tower of god.if they do it right it will pick up quickly especially when you consider that it is followed by hell train,name hunt station and floor of death.

Holy sh- The Opening and Ending of cour 2 surprise me in a good way 😮 I absolutely love the visuals, animation, art direction and the songs! I really like the scene with Khun pretend to shot Wangnan! His reaction was so funny to watch 😂 The Traveler and Bam moments was nice as well! But the scene with Endorsi get in where Bam is was my favourite! What will happen next? I hope this cour will continue on this track and maybe even better 🙏🏻
The funny part is that this exact problem happened with the manhwa too. Nobody wanted Wangnan or any of that, and it only got good at the workshop battle which is where the anime is at. Now the new cast is absolutely loved by the fandom, but the setup for it is shaky at best by nuking season 1 characters for a while.
Cour 1’s OP and ED was good to listen to, but the visuals were a bit bland. You bring back Stray Kids for Cour 2 and have much better visuals and now this feels like a better TOG anime.
Personally I think the episode wasn't as good as the last few - we had a really strong set ever since the hand of Arlene started (also I do not believe there's a video on episode 13 on the channel?) but yeah the episode did well enough for set up I guess, just wasn't as hype as the last 4 or so episodes. The next set should be strong though. I'm really not a fan of the new opening though. Opening 1 of season 2 was AMAZING and I rewatched it dozens of times, finding a new clever reference hidden in there every other time - it was overflowing with love and respect for the series. Opening 2 is just "viole lonely, whatever"
Cour 1 was my most anticipated show of the season i could not wait since i forgot almost everything i red in the past. It ended up being the only show i dropped mid way. Ops always felt outsourced since they barely represent the animation in the shows. In my naivity i crawled back to check purely on animation. I was skipping around untill i hit 13: 53 of the episode. Bro just powerpoint slides his head in with no expression.. The VA is Screaming, talking normally AND HIS FACE NEVER CHANGES. The whole thing is Soulless and pain to watch. I remember enjoying reading it so much and now after i forgot i cant stand watching it. Guess i gotta read it all again if i really want to enjoy it. This aint it.
Bro I just wanted to say that currently in the manhwa/manga, chapter 640 of TOWER OF GOD (which will take 10 seasons in anime TV format, with each could take 26-38 episodes), something crazy just happened between the fight of 2 great family leaders and it looks like the scenery would fill-up half of the size of the continent of South America or Africa.
I think cour 2 will be much better than the first cour. However it's disappointing that the studio basically tanked the first half of the 2nd season as a fan. It pisses me off really but, if they can pull off even decent animation in the 2nd cour the story will be entertaining.
