How to replace a car speedometer cable. Beginner's guide.

Your videos are second to none mate. Recently purchased a beat up ‘79 HJ with plenty of work to be done but she’s still a roadworthy runner and I’m loving it. I’m only clocking up the white digits on the odometer aswell after replacing the 16 tooth gearing in the gearbox to get the speedo working. So I’ll have to get into the odometer and see what needs fixing to get her ticking over again. Keep the HJ videos coming 👍

Thanks mate appreciate the feedback 👍 to fix the odometer simply pull it apart and clean all of the old grease out that has now become hard 👍 replace with new grease.

Bloody excellent. I've had a new speedo cable in my shed for months waiting to get around to replacing the busted one. After watching your video, I did realise how straight forward it was. I'll get into it tomorrow. I have a HJ47 Ute '82. Thanks again for the great video.
