    One think to keep in mind is that once you remove the heatsink, always repaste the CPU and GPU. there are many reasons for it. You cannot ensure 100% no dust will enter. While putting it heatsink back you cannot ensure 100% contact like before since the paste would have moved slightly. Also if the fans get this dirty, there is a good chance the thermal past would have dried up a bit. So putting some high quality thermal paste is a good idea and it alone can give almost a 5 degree drop in temp.
    ALSO PLEASE ANYONE TRYING THIS REMOVE THE OLD PASTE WITH 100% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL. CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, REMOVE THE OLD PASTE AND DO NOT USE WATER.

      I think your point is absolutely right, but just in case if someone does not have fresh thermal paste on hand, i think laptop can be run for few days without changing it !!!this won't work if the thermal paste is dried up!!!!, and yes it is important to clean the surface with alcohol based products either ipa95%, generic non scented hand sanitizer, alcoholic wet wipes, anything with good proportion of ipa content. DO NOT USE ACETONE OR PAINT STRIPPER it can damage the surface causing replacement of the part.

    Once we open Legion laptop, it's always easy to open the bottom in further attempts. Only need to remove screws and pop off the bottom. Unless ur a pro in applying thermal paste, never ever remove heatsink. Just clean the fans carefully with paint brushes or soft brush and cover other parts with paper maybe. Do once in a year to gradually take out dust in time. Removing heatsink complicates the process and risks damage to laptop

      Will bring a thermal paste replacement vide soon. True it does get easier after first removal.

      What is the heatsink

    • @seekingtech954
      @seekingtech954  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Heatsink is the metal part that screwed over processor and GPU. It dessipate the heat away from the cpu and GPU.
