Hours of practice and playing, A great and wise instructor mixed with the love for what you do in your heart. That talent creates silence in a room and forces you to listen to it because it is a blessed gift from God. Amen My Brother...3
The nothing-like feeling of that screaming beast of wood and metal. shocking your bones and your nerve system. I could sit there for hours on end. Had the chance to play a 73 at a friends studio a few years ago. An unforgettable experience...
I really appreciate the part where the guy calls him the truth and his response: "Not the truth". It really shows that he recognizes his gift comes from God and he gets all the glory.
@fishermenent....Mr Bowens...u aint in da box yourself my bro...I study both of yall cats on da regular... thats awesome to see 1 beast respect another beast..thats good to see in an industry where a lot of cats tend to see others as a threat...much love and respect my bro..Its funny of all the cats to lv a comment...I been on one of ur vids for the last 2 days...smh
That's still one of my alltime favorite solo rhodes videos. See, when real church organ players preach on a keyboard... Y'all ain't ready. So beautiful.
@fishermenent Yeah bro. Eddie's playing is revolutionary. But you 2 are both in my top 5 favorite keyboard players. Hit me next time your in LA. I'd love to do a sit down with u as well. ~Chris*Starr
@PrinceAIJO I totatly agree. Most musicians from the church that are this GREAT are arrogant and thinks that because of practice only, their that good.
+Joshua Atere Major Ninth chord arpeggiated in tenths descending by minor thirds. So..Db Major 9 to Bb major 9 to G major 9. There are some passing notes in between but that is essentially what is going on. On the first two chords he doesn't play the root notes so it sounds like F minor 7th and the next chord like D minor 7th but when he gets to the G major 9th you can hear the bassi for the riff. Not complicated. In fact, very basic. It's not the what but the how.
@Lord Yes, I appreciate your response as well. Having an intermediate awareness of music theory, that actually makes sense on a piano roll editor haha. That was just incredible.
He is one of my absolute favorites. He plays with a freedom that opens your mind to possibilities. Parris Bowens
We miss you Parris
This video is a big inspiration to me. Thank you Eddie
