@@guven3625 There's three Chinese movies that are sort of similar to what you'd want. There's Special ID staring Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa, Donnie plays an undercover cop and it's p/g imo. Second movie is Flashpoint also staring Donnie and Tony, but this time he isn't playing undercover. Third movie is very slow paced, but very very worth watching. I forget the the actor but it's basically about an undercover turned fully crooked, it's called New World. It's probably the closest to Cheng's story.
I love the scene where she's sniping and you can see her scoping on the civilians in the trench and then reconsidering. What makes me appreciate her character is that even though she's cold and terrible, she retains enough of her humanity to be compassionate. In fact it's after her own man was tortured by the psycho kids that she's at her most terrifying.
she assessed whether there are armed or not among the civilians. the one who was tortured, her dear and faithful comrade who went through the entire combat path with her, and shared all the hardships and hardships with her.
This is awesome! When reading/watching Black Lagoon the one character that truly terrifies me is Balalaika. She is a character I always look forward to seeing because you never know what acts of terror she will bring forth.
Honestly still the best Balalaika AMV I've ever seen. It's so tragic seeing how she went from a normal sweet girl, to an upstanding soldier who risked her life to save a refugee child, and finally to a person who is so dead inside that she doesn't even bat an eye at killing a child in cold blood. That pause on her face towards the end (4:28) perfectly portrays how broken and insane she has become. Truly beautifully edited, and the song choice is chef's kiss.
Thank you for this tribute to the coolest woman I've ever seen in a movie or anime. May be the greatest AMV I've seen or at least on the top three. Everything matched up perfectly from the gun shots to the salutes or matched the atmosphere. Trust me I usually despise AMV's because the bulk of them aren't edited well, but this was utterly amazing. Good job, please make more.

I guess Balalaika is more fearsome than Roberta. In the scene where Roberta and Revy fought Balalaika ended it. They both respect her quite much. In addition she is just like Roberta a well trained soldier so to get to your point I guess both would survive such an szenario. Roberta is stronger without doubt but Balalaika is very charismatic and good in making allies. Moreover as mentioned in the anime she is the only person who could lead an army in a 3rd WW and even win it. To the point with cold blooded. I guess Roberta used to be the more cold blooded of them but she changed, Balalaika on the other hand was quite nice, seen in the scene with the little boy in war, but changed over time to a manipulative, fearsome Women, only focused on her own goals.
@@auntiejuly The issue with Roberta is this first time we see her she's operating in a relatively sane way save the fact Garcia is not aware of her past and even when he finds out it changes little. When we get to the next time Roberta appears she's lost it in a massive way I understood her reasons for seeking revenge you have no reason to question it but the amount of medication she is taking in that is beyond made she's seeing things that are not there and so on. Balalaika is a sombre clean operator who save her smoking of cigars has no vices to speak of she's a master tactician and a natural born leader and completely ruthless and like you said Revy and Roberta both respected her when she stopped that fight in the ship yard. So yes in the scheme of things Balalaika wins it for me. That said the really scary person who is the one everyone misses is Eda she hints to Rock who has the real power in that part of the world and it's not the criminal gangs and given that phone call when she put Chang in his place with the voice distorter you have to wonder if the CIA is manipulating all of them through her to kill each other and is the one that's really calling the shots.

To me, Balalaika is the ghost or Soviet Russia, risen from it's grave to haunt the world and watch over it's lost children. She has little to live for, save for sheer malice and her personal score with the world, which was nothing but a broken promise from that awesome walk in sunlit beryozka (birch tree) alley, and up to the yakuza slaughter and subsequent brush with the CIA. Gets me every time... Best russian villain ever!
Never seen a woman like Balalaika in the history of anime. Has nothing to do whatsoever with a feminist-approved strong woman, no, nothing as respectable as that. Observing her, I genuinely get the impression of a sadistically refined beast stuck in the confines of the female form. Devilish, precise, and wielding Hotel Moscow like a hammer crossbred with a surgical knife, i'd venture to say she's transcended her sex and species. Yeah, I'd draw connections to Motoko Kusanagi, but the major never struck me as ' something nightmarish beneath the skin'. Being ascertive, dominant, elegant, intelligant etc are all worthy qualities when in moderation. Balalaika seems to just wipe em off the table and leave only the image of a dragon on the battlefield. Yes, yes i'm rambling but...but... ..the woman.
The woman is indeed a goddess of war and is my ideal mate. creating the most powerful children humanly possible would be excellent too bad I cant reproduce with other females.....
Nailed my own views on her. And I will admit the way she does things is with the power pretty damn hot at times. She has a mystic about her as well. I mean we know something of her past but what really interested me is the way in which she seems completely devoted to her cause and her men as well and obviously the sense of betrayal when the USSR fell at the end of the cold war. She looks the part and the woman who voice acted her in English was spot on with the way she was in character and the fact is she as a character felt very real and by that really scary at times. Her scars to me make her all the more stunning she's seen life at it's very worst and yes she's sometimes sadistic but my God I've never been so damn fascinated by a fictional character as I have with her. The woman just rocks.
The woman is all that and so much more. It's really believable her men are so devoted to her, sheeit I'd be too. She's an absolute force of nature and I borderline worship her for it. What an amazingly written character.

Love your video and the fact that you chose a Regina Spektor song for it. Love her music think she is a really under appreciated artist never would have thought of using one of her songs for and AMV let alone a Black Lagoon one. Have like all the AMVs for Black Lagoon using rock songs, but your choice of song really elevates your's.
