I fully came out yesterday to my mom. It started a few weeks ago when I started to read some queer books. I felt safe enough to talk to my mom about it because I knew how accepting she was even though the country we live in is not really kind to members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I never intended to continue the conversation after that but it came up and I kind of came out. I told her that I have a crush and I told her my feelings. She was completely accepting and only told me to be open to different things and not to close any doors yet. I love her and I’am so happy to have such a supportive family.❤
My coming out🌈 I just came out to my parents some months ago I didn’t want to have a weird conversation like „mum, dad, I have to tell you something“ as if it would be something to worry about, cause it just isn’t. I was dating a girl that time who my parents knew very well. They were standing in the kitchen, we had a little conversation and I just said „You both know that I havs something with (name) don‘t you?“ They were like „yeah we thought about it, but don‘t worry, there are happening so many bad things in the world, that’s the least you have to think about“ You can‘t imagine how happy I was in this moment🥺😍 Lauren your video is amazing, I love the idea to bring so many different people together to share their stories🌈 Lilly :)
Awww oh my gosh this story warms my heart 💜 I’m so glad they were so chill about it! That’s amazing. And thank you!! I really think it’s important to hear from a bunch of different people bc they all have different experiences but we can still relate to them :))
I came out using a letter. It really worked and today I openly talked about being bisexual and about my LGBTQ+ friends to my dad. This is a big step for me because I had a lot of anxiety surrounding the subject. You are strong and valid 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ 💖💜💙
I came out to my friends at a get together. It was in the summer holidays and we were all at my friends house getting changed to go swimming. I was getting changed in my friends closet. When I finished changing I slammed open the door and screamed: IM COMING OUT THE CLOSET! All my friends started laughing and didn’t realise what I acctually meant. And then one of my friends asked wait… do u mean ur gay. I said yes and they all took it really well! My advice is have fun with it because if you are happy and excited their response will hopefully be positive🏳️🌈❤️😉
I came out last week! I’d just broken up with my boyfriend of two years, because I realised I was lesbian, and I told my parents why I’d broken it off. They were actually surprisingly nonchalant about it, my dad was like ‘no way I had no idea’ 😂
I still havent come out. And honestly i dont know if i am lesbian. I think it. Or i could be bi. I have told it my cousin and she is the only person who will ever understand me. She was just so nice and i felt so happy. I wish i could tell it more people but i cant. And that makes me really sad. 😥 Anyway thanks for this video it helped me a lot to accept who i am😍 You are inspiring me so much❤
Hey! That is completely okay! You are allowed to be confused, it’s totally normal. Take your time figuring yourself out, there is no rush to know 💓💓 keep exploring your feelings and listening to other Lgbt people’s experiences (I found that helped me in the beginning). But that’s amazing that you have one person who you can trust and lean on for support at the moment, proud of u.
My coming out story 🌈 *I still haven’t come out I am still a teen* and I only want to come out to my parents when I start to date someone the same gender as me 🙊🙊🙊🙊🥲❤️ I found this hard to type but it’s fine ✨✨
this video honestly makes me really happy. my coming out story is something i like to call “still in the works” because a lot of my trauma and how i respond to certain things stems from that experience. Culture is a huge factor when it comes to homophobia in my family,, and unfortunately that means that i may never be able to fully come out to them. i’ve been forced out of the closet TWICE and yet they are still in denial of it. And i’ve kind of just learned to accept that i don’t need their acceptance or validation to like who i like. i’ve sort of conditioned myself for the worse when the “real” confrontation and realization will happen for them when they realize i’m actually gay and it wasn’t just someone else influencing me. But until then i’ve learned to just live with being in that gray area. i just know that once i get out of here for REAL i can truly express myself and i can’t wait for that :))
I have been struggling to work out who I am all my adult life, I am now 43 , I just recently accepted that I am pansexual and came out to my work colleagues and a couple of close friends last week. Last night I put up a Facebook post to tell everyone else and off the back of that had a telephone conversation with mum and dad. I'm relieved to say that everyone has been really supportive, I just wish that I'd figured it out earlier.
you don’t have to be Australian to join in! it started in Australia by a group of school kids and then grew to an organisation/charity :)) so wear it purple focused mainly on Australia schools but hopefully others are joining in too!
