    Can you guys please do more Disney dining plan videos? One for each park on how to maximize the plan. Or a video on an example of how to maximize it step by step restaurant to restaurants etc ?

    Been wanting to make this suggestion forever. I love the random shots of food/snacks/dishes, but would find it really helpful if you'd include captions on the lower left (or right) hand corner showing where they came from. I'd love to try some of these meals, but alas, I never know where they're at. Would love this little addition if you can manage it. Thank you.

    Chefs De France has a special on their menu that gets you an appetizer, Entree and a dessert. It isn’t all of the entrees on the menu but we all found what we wanted was included.

    Thanks for all your hard work. I think the stress relief is the main factor for me. Knowing that I don't have to say no or you have to wait until later is worth a great deal.

    in the past, at Disney owned and operated quick service locations, when asking for a soda, if you dont specify size, you get a medium. if you ask for a large, that is included. notice i said disney owned and operated. this usually doesnt work around world showcase as they are usually 3rd party companies

    I found that a late (after 10) character buffet breakfast was a great deal. After filling up there, skipping lunch was a no-brainer.

    Used to do the dining plan when it was worth it, and use to save money, but If you have any Passholder, DVC, or sometimes Disney Visa discounts, and get discounted Disney gift cards to pay for the meal, that will save you more money than the dining plan, and you can eat what you want. Was in Disney in December, and I took what I would pay for the meal plan, and compared it to what I payed out of pocket ( discounted GF and Passholder and DVC discounts) and I would have lost money doing the dining plan, and we don't skimp on meals. With what the plan costs now, the only thing I can see is it is more of a convince, rather than a savings

    I have used it in the past it is worth it if your are getting the most expensive meals, you also are getting a lot of food so keep that in mind. Also the Free Dining Plan promo right now you have to add park hopper to your tickets so if you were just doing one park per day and thought you can get the dining plan added free your are still paying extra.

    Thank you so much for this! My family and I are going to Disney World for the first time next month, and I paid for the quick service dining plan so my parents wouldn't have to stress about paying a ton for food. I really had no idea how it would work because I don't think it's at Disneyland, which is the only Disney park I've visited.

    Got a deal on the WDW standard plan. It was our first time to the park so it was a good choice for us to receive the special character experiences and other high end meals without the up front sticker shock. It also helped us budget our meals. We saved all our receipts and will be tallying it up to compare. Next time we would only get the quick service plan because tipping gets very expensive and ruins a lot of the savings. We found that often the quick service meals were more enjoyable than the table service meals.

    I just came back from a trip in Jan and we had to use up our snack credits at Karmel Kuchen on the caramel corn. Nobody was mad about having to bring a bunch of that home. We probably wouldn’t have had so many but we also had the dining gift card to use up. It worked really well as that covered all the tips and extras at our sit down meals. Used it on cheaper snacks too instead of a snack lcredit. We also heard some places offer to use quick service for people who were out of snack credits. Not sure how much that covered but heard it offered to people a couple of times.

    It isn't necessarily the best idea to go for the most expensive items on the meu when on the dining plan - YOU have to pay the tip which can be a lot if you eat really expensive entrees.

      how much is the gratuity?

    • @heidiziemer9696
      @heidiziemer9696 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is completely up to you (unless you are in a large party - then they automatically attach a gratuity of maybe 18%), usually for good service it is 20% and up - so, say you had dinner for two at Citricos at the Disney Grand Floridian - not even the most expensive place to eat - and ordered the most expensive entree, beverage and dessert on the menu to get "full value" for the free dining. The bill would be about $202.00 for two people and add the sales tax the total is now $214. If you gave a 20% tip you would be paying $42 out of pocket for the meal. It is up to you to decide if that is really "free" or not and if not, is it worth it to you?@@seleneb9852

    What I am hearing from the first part of this video is that to get your money’s worth you need to get alcoholic drinks. If you don’t drink alcohol it is not worth it. I went through menus and added up prices for what my family would likely eat every day we are there and the cost of the dining plan is significantly over the out of pocket cost, and I will likely buy one of the more expensive entrees at each meal.

    I bought the DDP from you guys. I need to basically list the character meals we want to book, see where else we might eat & compare prices.
    We are foodies & drinkers & would love to try things but our kids are small eaters and our oldest will be 10 - so really need to work it out.
    They love dessert & drinks will be different- just annoying to have to spend the time on it to work it out is all.
    Really appreciate the documentation & videos

    when staying deluxe free dining is probably better if there is more than 2 adults in your room. I priced out two adults staying at BWI with the same add-ons and the stay longer deal saves $200 more dollars over free dining. Best to always price it out.

    When we had the ddp prior to covid we could switch our included drink with QS credit out for a sweet/dessert. Which was great as we already had our refill mug. Do you know if you can still that? X

      I was at Coronado a couple weeks ago and asked at their QS, "So, we have these mugs, but the quick service credit also includes a drink. How does that work?" The cast member told me that I could use my meal credit for any drink but didn't mention getting a dessert instead. I didn't ask further. Like AJ said, I expect your mileage will vary on this one.

    27:22 I honestly think these should just be a flat 3 dining credits considering you’d probably get more food for 4-5 dining credits. ALSO
    31:23 It should only work like this, a kid credit can get kid entrees and an adult credit can adult & kid entrees since the adult credit is by default worth more money of course Disney should let ppl seemingly *(to Disney) waste their credit on something cheaper when they could’ve gotten something more expensive.

    Is there a chance that Disney may bring back the Dining Card, or are they going to keep the Dining Plan? We just got back two weeks ago, and man! That Dining Card is THE BOMB! The two of us paid out maybe $200 out of pocket on food, and that's only because we went to Wolfgang Puck's and used Mobile Order a few times. Otherwise, Disney paid for our food🎉

      You would have to have park tickets to access restaurants in the parks, yes, but there are restaurants at the resorts that you can use dining plan credits for, and you don't need park entry to go to the resorts! DFB has numerous videos and posts and reviews on the website about resort restaurants.

    Genuine question to people who have issues with being stressed about things like meal budgets, did you actually find that having a DDP decreased your anxiety around making sure that you have a way to eat food, without the fear of overspending in other catergories?
    While I myself have never been to disney, I know that my stress levels around making sure that I am not going hungery can be extremely high when I do plan a trip. I do try and mitigate this by making sure I book a hotel room with an all inclusive breakfast and packing a box full of snacks just incase I run out of money, and this has saved me from a lot of headaches and allowed me to truly enjoy this experience. I want to know if those who have travelled to disney have found that having the DDP has reduced the stress levels around affording food, or if all the red tape has made the endeavour futile

    Aj my family and I have gone in a Disney trip recently we used the Disney dining plan, and they did get the kids quick serve confused with the adult quick serve, which is explanational, and they help figure it out.
    What my family made the mistake was because they on travel days forget they have an extra table service or quick-serve. Because the day they come in, they don't think they get to eat that day or the day they leave that morning because it wasn't a night they get a credit.
    Making sure they utilize all possible.Credits that is available to them.
    Huge fan, thank you for your content.It's helped me on multiple disney trips.

      The credits are given to the room, not to the individual person. If you placed an order for your family, the credits would come out of your room's total.

    I’m so happy the DDP is back. When we would take our yearly week at WDW the DDP made the trip so much better.

      If I remember correctly Disney puts a suggested amount on the bottom. I’m in my 20s and growing up my parents always told me to tip at least 10% of the bill. Now days I think the norm is closer to 15-20% of your total bill. For me personally even living in the US my whole life I feel like the tip rate keeps getting crazier and crazier. My husband and I generally stick to the 10% rule and if the service was exceptional and/or we have some extra money in our budget to spend we’ll try to get closer to the 15% range.

      @kristenhale2946 Thank you that's really helpful. It's one of the reasons that I won't be doing any 2 credit dining locations because I've been saving for this trip for 5 years and I Don't want my budget to go on tips lol and have no money left over for a few souvenirs or emergencies. I don't know why I'm so anxious about it lol. Also adding tax onto things is alien to us as it already has tax added over here

      As someone who worked in dining for 5 years here's my suggestion 15 percent is ur baseline if the service is just fine 15 percent if it's awful go to ten if it's great to to 20 and up

    Our next trip will be the first time using the dining plan, how does it work if you want to mobile order for your whole family on your account? Will everyone’s credits show up on your app? Or will the credits come off of your own personal credits?

    As someone who only orders the plant based meals and doesn’t really drink alcohol, I think I’ll be skipping the DDP lol. I’ve done the math and it doesn’t add up to be worth it!

      @DFBGuide  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! We always tell people to do the math! It looks like a great deal on paper, but if you’re not ordering the most expensive thing on the menu you’re probably leaving money on the table

    I keep going back and forth with the dining plan, I have several picky eaters and several light eaters.

    • @RLucas3000
      @RLucas3000 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Light eaters can be tricky. Consider the buffets, especially the character buffets, that way everyone can eat as little or lot as they want, and buffets always have food for picky eaters. Almost all of them are one table credit, so just avoid the two table credits (ankershuse after breakfast, cinderellas Royal table, etc).
      If you are doing a buffet between lunch and differ, you can get snacks in the morning, and split one snack between two or even three light eaters so they will all be hungry at buffet time.

    • @jaimehiltz4489
      @jaimehiltz4489 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We are a family of picky light eaters ... we decided to get gift cards instead of the dining plan that way the meals are pre paid but closer to the budget we want to spend ... and any left over money goes towards our next trip! It has worked out much better for our family 😊

    DDP isn’t worth it for our family anymore. In 2019, my 3kids were under 10, so a lot less expensive. Also, 2 snacks per day. Now, they are all over 10, but of course don’t drink alcohol, and sometimes eat from the kid’s menu. So I would be wasting money with the DDP. It’s sad because it was easy and I didn’t mind splurging on character meals.
