I personality like climbing with ski touring boots. They give a good support of the ankle for long days front pointing. On the down side, they are heavier and colder than alpine boots and they don't breathe. For hard technical climbs, alpine boots make the difference giving some movement on the ankles for delicate moves, but on easy pure ice, that is not necessarily an advantage.
