Hey guys! Fun fact, This music video was nominated for the MTV awards in the same year that My Chemical Romance's music video for Helena and when FOB won the award they actually got up to receive it and said they felt like Helena should have won the award. You should check it out. It's classy af. And they weren't wrong.
second track title is a reference to a quote from the movie 'Casablanca'. full quote is "of all the gin joints in all of the towns in all the world, she walks into mine…". It's said by the main character when his long lost love walks into the bar he's drinking at.
There was a real era in emo/pop punk where the song titles were so damn long for no god damn reason. I’m so excited to see how y’all feel about this album - this was the pivotal album that turned me emo 100%. So much so I’ve gotten a cork tree tattoo as my ~tribute~ to this album
after doing some research, I found out the first track was supposed to be called "My Name Is David Ruffin And These Are The Temptations" so JT you *are* right! they changed the name of the song because of risking getting in trouble with the Ruffin estate. Anyways, great video guys! love seeing how genuine you guys are!
Pete Wentz is the main lyricist of Fall Out Boy and many of the lyrics on this album are about his bipolar disorder and his suicide attempt. In fact, I read he was still recovering from that when the band was recording the album, so he just handed them the lyrics. I became a Fall Out Boy fan last year and I can't believe how good his lyrics are. They are witty and ironic, but also show a lot of vulnerability and emotions.
In my humble opinion, their best albums are Take This to Your Grave, From Under the Cork Tree, and Infinity on High. All of their songs are so fun to sing along to
You guys should check out The Strokes! Maybe their new album The New Abnormal? It's really good plus Hayley is a fan of them. Either way keep on killing it with the reacts :)
i'm late asf but i really hope y'all do infinity on high and folie a deux 🥺🥺such good albums that were experimental but still pop punk. and patrick's vocals just get better and better each project
i’m five months late but “My name is David Ruffin and these are my temptations” was the song’s title and it’s bc the song is about fame getting to your head
people always joke about how u can't understand FOB lyrics, but if you actually read them... they are insanely clever. lots of mataphor and word play. they use a lot of zeugma.
I don't care for this album at all. Dance Dance & Sugar We're Going Down are the only good songs imo. Idk why this is considered their best album. Folie a deux is way better imo

also, Patrick (the vocalist) has some solo stuff too. my favorite is his album Soul Punk.

Their first album though!
Take This To Your Grave - add it to the list my dudes!
👏👏👏
Paramore, MCR, and now FOB. I am here for this. 🙌🏼
I love Pete’s penmanship so much. That line “I’m just hopelessly hopeful you’re just hopeless enough” is so satisfying and the Patrick sings it. Ugh!
You guys should check out The Strokes! Maybe their new album The New Abnormal? It's really good plus Hayley is a fan of them. Either way keep on killing it with the reacts :)

"The ribbon on my wrist says do not open before christmas" LOL
I suggest checking out PVRIS if you are looking for another amazing female fronted band. The lead singer Lynn Gunn has amazing vocals.
Sugar we're going down swinging, I think says "we're going down down in an earlier round"
I've never related so hard to anything but you two jamming to Dance Dance and sugar lmao

Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner is a quote from Dirty Dancing!

Did anyone see Ariana Grande do an impression of Patrick Stump?
No 😯

Please Panic! At the disco
Was hoping y'all wouldn't spend so much time going crazy over the song titles (it's easy bait) but ....
people always joke about how u can't understand FOB lyrics, but if you actually read them... they are insanely clever. lots of mataphor and word play. they use a lot of zeugma.
thank you to your comment teaching me a new word!

Crazy, this is their last great album honestly and a true classic to the genre.
