    I have never had a problem with anemones, but I think there’s something to be said for the “only for mature tanks” advice. I used to have an LPS heavy tank that I completely crashed when trying to treat dinos with hydrogen peroxide. I left it bare except for one lonely clown fish and a few rocks for six months. Eventually I got bored of looking at such a boring tank and threw a green bubble tip anemone in there - it flourished from day one. It got so big I had to give it away and replace it with a rainbow BTA - again, also flourished. For me they are just so easy, I never do any testing in my tank except for salinity. The clown is still in there and happy as hell😆

    Do you have Dino's by any chance (I saw brown and bubbles next to them)? When I had them, my nem seemed to have a really hard time and was shrinking. Once I increased the nutrients in the water and took care of the dino it fared much much better ! That's my experience, I don't know if it can help you, I know you already tried so much! Good luck, can't wait to see how the treatment goes!

    I would personally treat all the btas as even if they aren’t all showing symptoms of bacterial infections, they could possibly still be carrying the bacteria. Then once you added the new BTA’s, the bacteria would still be present and infect the new nems. The way I see it, is if you’re doing the one, why not just do the others too to be safe. Just my 2C. Loving this series and hope all goes well!

    I noticed that you have different kinds of BTA's. When I had 2 rose and 1 green anemone I noticed the green one would deflate throughout the week. It was a healthy anemone when I got it, from a good source. When I did a water change or changed out the carbon it would be great for a few days and then deflate again, had a gaping mouth. And the cycle would continue. Felt like the different BTA's would do chemical warfare. The green anemone kept moving around until I put it in its separate anemone box. I eventually had to give it away. Maybe that is the issue? The chemical warfare between the different anemones?

    I’ve got some thoughts... from my past experiences, my nems tended to be unhappy when I used GFO in the water. Do you use GFO? They seem to be similar to lps. Medium to low flow medium to low light. They’ll move to where their happy.
    Is there some instability? Maybe Could benefit from adding some denitrifying bacteria. Also they seem to be unhappy when silicates and phosphates raise which can happen out of nowhere after a few months

    • @MyFirstFishTank
      @MyFirstFishTank  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do use GFO as necessary. Was having some PO4 spikes so run a small amount of gfo to keep the levels low but stable, around 0.1.

Well 200 bucks later got me a really nice rose nem it’s been 2 weeks and I notice the nem instantly started moving towards the light so i increased my lighting on my xr30s nem is now staying in one place BUT tentacles are only half way extended not fully bloomed mouth seems fine .. @MyFirstFishTank  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I’m super glad you’ve been inspired and I have no idea as you can tell from my record. I still am working out these critters. It could be PAR, but I’m guessing spectrum plays a big roll too. That’s why I’m switching lights to something
      more common so I can test against others tanks. As of now the only thoughts I have are something to do with lighting spectrum and intensity, bacterial or fungal infections, or an NO3 PO4 issue. Although I did just get an email from somebody saying they had the same problems and then started using Red Sea Colors. I forget the name. He thinks that the iodine that’s a part of the dosing may have let infected nems fight off whatever bacteria’s were haunting them. So I’m also going to be giving it a shot!
