I don't understand why lecture is mentioned as 5% and then also at 30%. there needs to be some differentiation - 30% maybe when extra tools and demonstrations are used.

Actually the 30% retaintion is gained from demonstration of the teacher. Ex. Physic teacher prove you some formula together with their teaching instrument. While lecture just give you a 5% of retention rate because you just listen to your teacher. The easiest way to learn and also the best way to forget. 😅
