Even adults can’t have some of these conversations. Also the way Nick’s aunt says “that’s love darling” I felt that. Sending love and light.
Side note: Charlie’s momma she need to speak to someone cause I feel like she is avoiding the fact that she can’t talk to her own child.
I liked for the comment about Charlie’s mom. She definitely had communication issues and gets frustrated so easily. What she asks of Charlie isn’t unreasonable but they both come from a confrontational place when interacting bc their previous interactions are always heated. So yeah, they need to learn to communicate better.
In the the UK, you can't Buy alcohol until you are 19, but your parents/guardians can give you alcohol at 16 at home. Nick is about to turn 17.

You can buy alcohol at 18 in the UK! I don't think there's even an official age limit for drinking at home lol, they just recommend that you should be 15! You can even have a pint of beer or a glass of wine with a meal in a pub from the age of 16 (providing you are with a parent/guardian/sensible adult)!

Even though I know this is difficult for you to watch, I’m glad that you are because it handles the subject matter so well, not just in these two episodes but in the episodes to come. And I think it’s an important topic because so many people do have to deal with it and it isn’t often talked about series like this. Alice has done a remarkable job of writing this show, and these young actors in it have grown beautifully into their characters. The series just gets better with every season in every way.
Definitely!! Alice is good such an amazing job and I thank her for not only myself but surely got the babies and ppl like us who are well into our adulthoods who we forever be changed and healed from her stories!! This show hold a special place in my heart for sure!!
nick has become one of my favorite characters. something i really ❤ and appreciate about his character is that he's always willing to be open and learn, especially when it comes to supporting charlie. tbh, it's not easy to support someone going through personal issues that you've never experienced. for some, they don't want to deal with other people's problems and be like, i'll leave you alone cause i'm not trying to deal with the drama. but i really loved the fact that nick didn't run away from what charlie was experiencing and wanted to find any means that he could to help, which is why i really enjoyed the aunt telling nick what options he could take for charlie. when people really do care about you and love you (not just say it), they will be there and support you through anything and everything.
plus, tori is my first favorite character! nick became my second fav!!!

I literally started crying 5 minutes into ep 1 and it never really stopped lol I just love this show so much and these characters. I so wish I had this show when I was in high school but I’m so glad we at least have it now because the representation in this show is needed

Lol Tara got alllll 9s which is extremely rare hence why the art teacher wants her to join the Oxbridge (Oxford and Cambridge uni) prep group.
The top grade is 9 = A**, 7=A, 4= barely a pass/C and everything else is a fail/below a C
I mean I got into Cambridge and I just got three 9s, eight 8s and one 7.
You sharing that you have had experiences with eating disorders means so much to me, I also have, and this season defo hit me hard. Sixth Form is the last two years of school (sixth form is a historical name - don't worry about it) Students are around 16-18 and they can focus on their best three or four subject and taking "A-Level" exams before going to university. Sort of US grades 11-12
Tara got 9 in every subject - the best you can get. 4 is the pass grade. Nick got 5-9. He got 9 in French, of course.😂
Tell me way I finished all 3 seasons in 2 days… no sleep… I love this show and I love these characters!!
A few quick notes: You can drink in the UK if you are accompanied by an adult from 16 years old in a restaurant (like beer, cider, or glass of wine). So drinking a small amount at home with family really isn't a big deal. GCSEs in the UK are graded from 1 to 9 with 9 being like an A+ so Tara did really well. Really enjoy your reactions, but please look after your mental health while watching this series, its A LOT. ❤

I'm glad Nick's aunt was able to give him sound advice without being judgmental and accusatory. Charlie's mom still upsets me so much even though I've read the comics.
Just subscribed (have to watch your previous videos!!!). I friggin love this show. The ED stuff hits real close to home for me. I was bulimic all through high school and beyond (have been doing much better for years though!), and while the behaviors present themselves differently between different EDs, the body image stuff and everything tends to be pretty much the same. I'm so glad that younger people have this show nowadays. The representation is fantastic, and I wish I had something like this 15-20 years ago while growing up.... My adolescence and subsequent adult life might have turned out a bit better than it did

People can actually drink at 18 in the UK...laws are not quite the same as ours. The USA is way too puritanical. A lot of UK families don't look at a single glass of wine in your own home the same way we do...they see it sort of like allowing a single can of beer for teens in your own home. A little more lenient in about a single glass of wine in some, not in others...just like here with beer.
Sixth form is like year 12. Their last year of high school 😉
Actually, it's years 12 AND 13. Nick, Tara, Darcy and Elle are all starting year 12, along with Tori. That makes them the equivalent to Juniors in the US.

I just want to point out the uk school system as it pops up a quite a bit in heartstopper this season and its quite confusing. Charlie is 15 and coming to the end of year 10 nick is 16 and in year 11 which is when the uks first big set of exams (year11). Sixth form (or for some college) is 2 years year 12 and year 13 most people are aged between 16-18. Nick in September is about to start sixth form year 12 and his gcse results determined if he got in or not. After sixth form is kinda like college in the USA some people go, some dont, some dont get the grades ect nick, tara , darcy and imogen are all the same age. when you in year 12 (the first year of sixth) the talk about university start and most people tend to go round open days and see what universities are right for them .
Also 1 is equivalent to an e and 9 is equivalent to an a* (which is the best grade) the lowest grade you can get to be considered a pass is a 4 equivalent to a c.
this season was so emotional and it literally made me realize i was lesbian. Like where was this when i was a teenager😭😭😭😭
