- Darcey Andrea Bussell is a retired ballerina from England. She started her career even before she entered her teenage years and came to be known as one of the greatest British ballerinas of all time. Darcey became the principal dancer at the ‘Royal Ballet’ at the age of 20. In her career, Darcey has performed more than 80 separate roles, including ‘Princess Aurora’ in ‘The Sleeping Beauty,’ ‘Nikiya’ and ‘Gamzatti’ in ‘La Bayadère,’ ‘Odette/Odile’ in ‘Swan Lake,’ ‘Giselle’ in ‘Giselle,’ and the ‘Sugar Plum Fairy’ in ‘The Nutcracker.’ Bussell is also a model, an author, and a TV personality. She has modeled for ‘Tatler,’ ‘Vanity Fair,’ and ‘Vogue.’

I saw her at the Royal Ballet School in Twickenham many years back and yes she is lovely, I had autograph signed.
She is an exceptional dancer, her movements are flawless.

I had the good fortune of listening to a lecture she gave at the Mitchell Library here in Glasgow, Scotland, and meeting with her afterwards. She IS one of THE LOVLIEST people you could EVER meet and has MOST DEFINITELY NOT let fortune and fame go to her head!!!!!
When I think of how she was bullied when she was at White Lodge it makes me cheer her success all the more due to the fact that I know that the speed at which she rose the ranks will REALLY EXPLETIVE her tormentors RIGHT OFF!!!!!!!!!

I’m getting my punches next year in 2023 and right now it’s 2022 I’m getting it at age 13 and right now I am 11 turning 12 in September, The third dance that she did was part of our show and little kids did it.
Darcy actually started dancing at 13!
Darcey started ballet at a young age. She only entered the Royal Ballet School at 13, which was later than some of her classmates.

The only think I wish Darcy was better at was her por de bra technique. She tends to flop her wrists too often.
Not bad, has the average ballet skill performance and match well with the music melody, but not outstanding if compares to most Russian trained ballerinas from her time till now. Perhaps, this video did not cover most her life time 80 performances before retired, or perhaps her English style ballet skill requirement looks much easier than Russian style that I mostly familiar with.
Yeah, probably the English style. It is a shame Russian ballet cannot acknowledge anything other than themselves.

Also she s not a dancing stick-a la Russians. And beautful musicality.
This is ballet not gymnastics. You are definitely not an expert if you think this is average. What a dumb comment.
She definitely isn't average, the way she dance really is outstanding and her technique is perfect.
Vaganova is not only ballet method,
or the right one. Darcey was and still is one of my favourite despite I'm vaganova dancer.
Technically she's very gifted. The physical capacity and the training can't be ignored but it comes off as clunky at best.
